One Piece sales slowing down or is it the result being at the latter date of the period?

I would say it slowly returns to its normal sales. Let's face it: The Whitebeard saga was special in that regard and we won't be seeing sales like that till the final arc.
Steel Ball Run anime when?

The biggest buzz generated in Japan about the latest ranking is the amazing sales of this new manga series:

*6, *,121,058 *,121,058 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu Vol.1

It did very well for a vol.1 of a Jump manga. For recent titles, only Bakuman's vol.1 outsold this.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Papakiki! I didn't know the manga is still publishing... And there's so little anime episodes out... I really hope they'll make more someday.

I'm pretty surprised by the number, don't know that it's popular in Japan. Good manga :)

AssClass confirmed as one of the biggest hits Jump has seen in years (maybe since Toriko?).

3 day sales - 120k which will come to around 150k in its first week. That's quite amazing. Its rankings in the reader questionnaires have been great as well. Had its first cover (after the first chapter) at chapter 17 which is also quite impressive.

It doesn't seem to be very liked here but seems like it fits the japanese fans just perfectly. Personally it's the manga I like the most in WSJ right now so I'm perfectly alright with that. Yuusei Matsui is a great author, both his oneshots and series go from great to awesome.

Toriko vol.1 only sold 69177 copies in its first week so AssClass is doing almost twice as well as Toriko did back then...

this has to be some mistake. I don't remember it having that much of a big week.

Also, there are TWO Shinrei Tantei Yakumo volume 8's up there.

Its been ranking amazingly well too, reaching number 1 and beating One Piece in rankings sometimes. Its always in the top 3. its very popular. And not to mention, this is only 3 days of sales.

Matter of taste. For me ansatsu kyoushitsu is the best thing to come to jump in a long time.

Really? I didn't know Toriko sold only that in its 1st volume. I guess it picked up most of its popularity gradually.

I'm considering reading one piece manga.

Woah, Ansatsu Kyoshitsu volume 1. Really unexpected.
I like it but I didn't expect it would sell this much. I have a hard time remembering the characters except for the sensei.
*checks WSJ Livejournal* Woah, it's doing well in rankings. Pretty surprising.
Glad to see Nisekoi is doing well in sales and in rankings. Good job.
And Yuutosei is in there. I want a Rettousei anime!

Alicization volumes fail to rank again. *sigh* One more month till volume 11 comes out and it will probably join those two. Volume 2 seems to be missing too. Oh well, Progressive is still on top.
Fairy Dance manga isn't a hit like the LN huh. The synopsis should be changed though.
Good sales overall I guess.

SAO volume 2 of all things failed to rank this week.

Nothing new that particularly draws my attention as being worth getting.
Bestselling light novel volumes of the year/all time* (and more in the same club including weekly series ranks etc). <-- No longer being updated. Sorry.

Light Novels

19, *7,208 426,411 Sword Art Online Vol.7
20, *6,989 166,255 Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne Vol.8

There's something wrong here, when SAO Vol.7 has apparently sold ~94k more than SAO Vol.6. Vol.6 (325,414) was ahead of Vol.7 (303,638) by ~20k last time :O

Rank 19 in the `Light Novels' here is actually SAO Vol.2, which I saw on 2ch a few days ago. 7,208+419,203=426,411... which coincides with Vol.2's total last week.

OniAi Vol.8 sold 25,951 last week, so it can't be at 166k already. This list has to be double checked...

On a side note, SAO Vol.9 and Vol.10 fail to rank again as expected.

Tried to fix the rankings, from the data given in post #25. I'm still not entirely sure whether it was done correctly or not.
I have contacted dtshyk, the editor for the LNs, and I'll let him have a look on the list and fix eventual errors.

^ Thanks ejc !!

By the way, do you have the source in 2ch? I tried to find those data in 2ch but I guess I checked the wrong ones so could not find it. If you have the link of 2ch where those data are posted, could you let me know? Thanks.

THANKS A LOT !!
So it is also in the BD/DVD sales thread!! (and from a thread that I missed, oh well)

If even screenshot of an anime has no problem to be posted here, I guess data already found in 2ch should have no problem... I know that posting video/pic download/torrent link is prohibited though.

Sword Art Online I like it.
I had never heard any news for my hometown for many years, everything there like dell wood grass is the same except me. My grand mother also say that: The two apple do not drop and hit at one head.

I would be interested to see which one will sell more at the end. At the moment, Highschool and College are very close.

Unless we get a LOT more this year than last year, there's no way either is ranking on the yearly ranks.
Bestselling light novel volumes of the year/all time* (and more in the same club including weekly series ranks etc). <-- No longer being updated. Sorry.
*that there is data for

There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.

Woahhh Ansatsu Kyoushitsu sold more than 120K! That's amazing, especially for a first volume. The chapters are good so far but i hope they get better.
Nice to see Railgun doing well. The latest chapters were really exciting.
And wtf?! How did One Piece sell that much in its first week? I honestly don't understand the mass hysteria over this average series...

November 5th ~ November 11th

04. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu #1 (87,317 / 208,375)

Looking forward to buy the volumes when it will be licensed in english, seeing the sales it might be sooner than I thought.
