It wouldn't make sense if it was an introduction to season 3, the ovas would have taken place somewhere in the middle/end of season 3

Btw, the arcs are aired not to the order of the manga. That happened in season 1 and 2.

That's only if they had/have the intention of continuing where season 2 left off.

With the news that Weekly Shounen Sunday (the magazine TWGOK is in) intends to have anime news regarding its series for 8 straight magazines, it's entirely possible a third season, or at the very least more OVAs is on the way.

I feel the anime is too far behind. Even if it does restart, it'll be well over a year before I see anything new. Though I do admit I want to see the goddess arc animated. :)

i'm curious about why the OVA episode was too far from the last season 2,

from what i know before keima met tenri, he already few another girl, like tsukiyo.

Tenri's arc is kinda different in story compared to the previous arcs. The major previous arcs before Tenri's had identical story patterns. That is, Keima meets girl, then his tries at conquering. Maybe because Tenri's arc changes things a bit, they hoped the different story will make more people get interested in the series. I could be wrong, this is just my guess.

Considering Yonin to Idol and Tenri-hen are basically the two biggest hints at what later becomes the Goddess Arc, I can't see them not doing it now.
