The animation wasn't really "choppy" in my opinion, just different. I liked it because it was different, but can totally understand people who don't.

What I didn't like about RWBY was the short episodes, which makes for a poor excuse of character development. Regardless, I'm watching the entire next series when it comes out.

I only say it's choppy because there's a lot of clipping and some scenes look awkward like those cartoon portraits during some segments like the news cast and the silhouettes.

Episode 1 of Volume 2 was so cool! I've never seen a more epic food fight; loved how Ruby finished it off!

Huh, nobody has posted this in a while since I haven't posted in it since November and I still have a post on this page.

Anyway, four episodes down and man, oh man, Volume 2 is BLOWING VOLUME 1 OUT OF THE WATER! Better character development, better flowing narrative, better animation. Everything, outside of the soundtrack is downright better.

Another thing I'm really liking about this season so far is the "tie-ins" to the original trailers. For example, in episode 1, Blake had a sketch of Adam in her notebook and seemed to be looking at it in sadness. I found that interesting since she made the difficult decision to leave him behind on the train in the Black Trailer. In episode 4, Yang goes back to visit her "old friend," which turns out to be Junior at his club. Just a reminder, Junior was the guy she fought in the club in the Yellow Trailer (for the 1% of RWBY fans that haven't seen the trailers). I did find it funny that it seemed like the two weren't necessarily on "bad terms." Melanie and Miltia were also present, but didn't have very much dialogue outside of a quick "whatever" retort toward Neptune coming on to them.

We're being introduced to some pretty kick ass characters so far.

Neptune - I love this guy! He's hilariously cocky, but he showed in the last episode that he can hold his own. It's a shame him and Son didn't get more fight time, but I'm sure we'll see him in action more later on in the series.

Neo - Ah, Torchwich's mysterious new underling. It's funny how she pretty much came out of nowhere and had no dialogue. I wanna know more about this chick.

Emerald and Mercury - Two underlings of Cinder who made brief appearances at the end of Volume 1. Didn't learn a whole lot about them outside of that they don't necessarily get along...either that or they are just sort of playful with each other.

Huh? The music is just as good as the first season's, if not better.

Me too, already in love with her character design, weapon, and mysterious ability. It was love at first sight, and she's already earned a spot in my profile. Hope she lives up to the expectations I've already set for her in my head.

The voice acting is uncomfortably bad, and the only thing I can praise the series on is its fight scenes.

Well, I'm saying the soundtrack is worse. I'm just saying it's on-par with the first season. I wouldn't call it better just for the fact that it seems to have less OSTs so far.

Six episodes in now.

We FINALLY learn a little bit about Yang. Some character development for her was LONG overdue and we are finally starting to understand the "relationship" her and Ruby shared.Honestly, that has to be brutal. To lose two mothers has to be really rough.

Yang's "big sister" abilities are pretty effective. It was pretty nice to see her beat some sense into Blake. It was also nice to see Son and Blake together as well.

Ruby in high heel shoes. LOLOLOLOLOL

Pretty epic fights in that season finale. Wonder if that's Yang's mother or is it Ruby's...

I admire the skills required to make a series like that but I still don't like it. The voice acting is worse than a porno and it still feels like its trying too hard to be some kind of anime imitation.

Honestly, I didn't particularly care for the final episode of season 2. I wouldn't call it bad, it just wasn't all I hoped for. Yeah, it had a lot of action...that's cool...but it didn't do much else.

Part of Monty's problem with this series is he keeps throwing characters at us without developing the established ones first.

From a structural standpoint, I thought season 2 was better. It had a better flowing narrative and a more interesting plot. However, like I said, he keeps introducing brand new characters and not explaining them at all...and I'd just rather gain a more emotional attachment to the main characters of this series than keep throwing "cool" characters in there to avoid lazy writing.

Haven't seen the last episode yet, but I agree with regards to the character development part. I feel like there's still so much they could explore with the current cast of characters, and they all have the potential to be so much more, but they just keep throwing in more characters.

Weird series. Just made it through Season 2.
The animation is wonky, but neat in its own way. The writing is...okay. The voice acting is so atrocious I started to enjoy it in a "so unwittingly bad it's good" sort of way.

That soundtrack though... it doesn't speak well of the state of music in Japan that an indy artist in Austin, Texas with virtually no profile can produce something better than the garbage regurgitated by the biggest of budgets in Japan.

Didn't know there was a thread for RWBY, should have searched it up xD

I enjoyed the series a lot. I got used to the animation pretty quickly, and while it's clear that the voice acting isn't top notch, I thought it sounded casual which I liked. At times it was funny.

My favorite character is Weiss~ but like most series, I still don't know everyone's name

Even though the writing of the show is as bad as a typical action shounen series, I enjoyed the show for what it offers.

Looks infinitely more legit w/ jp voices. More importantly, which volume/season has the fight b/t cat ears and bowler?
