I recommended K-on to one of my gym partner. I told him it was an cute comedy anime, he hesitated to watch it at first. Few days later he calls me and say this was the funniest sh*t. Not sure if he is still watching those kind of animes.

Most of us can agree it's usually family. I grew up around Dragonball and my elementary/middle school years were when The Big 3 were beginning to air (my cousin was really into Naruto.) Then around the time Roruoni Kenchin was airing I watched that with my cousins. The first anime I watched was Soul Eater, and then I got into anime that aired like Ano Natsu de Matteru and so on. Good times.

Hmm...
I got one of my friends into anime over the summer, and one of my friends into manga and some shoujo anime, but they don't read manga or watch anime anymore, sadly. xD

I got my brother to watch the "mainstream" stuff, like Fate/Zero, Code Geass, Steins;Gate and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. He refuses to watch Madoka, though. Poor kid doesn't know what he's missing.

But yeah, striving to get more people into anime has been my ultimate goal in life for the past year. It's unfortunately not going as planned.

0.

I have no interests of recruiting anime watchers.
I sometimes give recs to one of my friends who also watches anime from time to time, but that's the top I'm willing to do. And its only when she asks for recs anyway.

My brother watched Death Note with me.

But other than him, none of my friends/family even knows that I like anime.

Two of my friends were talking about a bunch of shows that I had never heard about, which motivated me to watch non-mainstream anime for the first time and essentially got me started as an actual fan.

Imo, if you want to get people into anime, pick very carefully what you're going to show them.

I consider Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood a good entry.

Well i turned my cousin unto Cowboy Bebop which he'd never seen, even after the many years he's watched anime, and now it's one of his favorites.

Feel pretty good about that :)

First I was counting the number of the chicks I got into anime on my fingers... but then I lost count. Need more fingers.

Always found anime as one of the successful ways to make cute girls hooked up into something. Others just prefer weed and Metal gigs. Oh, well. They all end up in the same place eventually.

I usually only talk about anime to people who already know about it. People other than them don't get into it just from me mentioning it (rarely) and I'm not actively trying to get someone into anime, so there's no one I know of.

I got my friend into it through Inuyasha, but then after she watched nearly every shoujo rom/com ever, she lost interest.

I like to think that i'm the reason one of my best friends started watching anime : D
I mean, she started watching as a hobby after i started and talked with her about it and tried to get her to watch as well.

I also got my sister to watch more anime :3

I tried getting a friend to watch anime once... I'm not trying that one again anytime soon. (-___-)

My friends. I showed them Code Geass during my Birthday Party when I was twelve, and I got them all into it. Currently, they all love anime now. Some of them have even been to conventions. Some of them are even more obsessed with anime than I am currently.

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

My sister, she used to see me watching stuff on my computer and when she dicovered this TV channel on which there's anime pretty much all the time she started watching stuff like Black cat .. but then she got into one piece ( which i don't like ) and other stuff I've never heard of. Once, we've watched kuroshitsuji I together but that's about it.

Other than her, I don't recall "converting" anyone..
