So many novels on that list I'd like to see translated. *sigh*

Guess it can't be helped- time to learn some more Japanese. Oh, and yay SAO.

Good to see SAO Progressive still selling decently.

SAO Vol 9 fails to chart again. There were some weeks where it should have charted since Vol 10 charted and the threshold was lower... but now even Vol 10 has probably met the same fate as Vol 9.

Hm... K-ON! Highschool doesn't sell as much as the K-ON! College (127,458 1st week) as expected :O

SAO still sells good, but sales are dropping slowly. I think in two weeks volume 1 will cross 500k. SAOP is a super success, top 1 for 3 weeks already.

Total sales still more than 100k per week (vol 9 and 10 can make 5k surely)

It's a chronological restart of Aincrad. 1 volume covers 1 and 2 floors, consisting of "Aria in Starless Night" (main plot line was animated as episode 2), interlude "Reason behind whiskers" and "Rondo of Transiend sword".

Vol9 and 10 of SAO isn't showing up again, the former for several weeks now. It's selling less than the previous volumes. Don't they like Alicization? It's pretty good so far. Oh well.
Progressive selling really well. A few more weeks and it will probably overtake vol8-10 sales.
NT5 is also doing well but not as much as I hoped. The long wait for it must have hurt it. It was pretty good though. Next volume when?

My guess for Volume 9 and 10 not showing up for SAO is that the Alicization arc hasn't really got going yet, a lot has been introduction and explanations, mostly transition for what seems to occurring in volume 11. If Volume 11 does well in terms of story, i feel it should increase sales for volume 9 and 10.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

This is the first time that i dont hate a top selling rate. I preffer vinland saga or otoyomegatari series for example (i dont know when the volumes are out anyway), but vagabond, kyoudai, giant killing y silver spoon are ok. Oofuri is ok too, but sports manga are tiresome when it is so long.

Right now there are only 368 bookstores in all of Japan that carry the KA Esuma light novels. Unfortunately none of them report to Oricon. Regardless how it's selling, we'll never know any numbers until either the bookstores report to Oricon or if they are sold in bookstores that do report.

I wonder do the sales of the newest manga volume have much to do with how the anime fares? I could see it being important if it triggered more sales for the early volumes or of course if the anime itself sells well, but 70k after 2 weeks doesn't seem like much more than it would have sold anyway even without the anime :/

Not that I wouldn't very much welcome a sequel!

well, right now, almost all the previous volumes are out of stock on amazon....and usually, KamiHaji never has a second week and I think its the first time its reached 70k in two weeks.

but not enough to chart on the oricon....

So it's not available to order online anywhere? That would explain why it's not listed on honto... Shame - I was wanting to get my hands on a copy.
Bestselling light novel volumes of the year/all time* (and more in the same club including weekly series ranks etc). <-- No longer being updated. Sorry.

It's available online, but only through websites that ship inside Japan. You have to use a proxy no matter which online store you'd buy from (either JBOOK or KyoAni's online store). None of the bigger bookstores have ordered KA Esuma novels, but given that they've been sold out on the KyoAni shop since early October and through JBook in the past two weeks, they can't print them fast enough for those big stores to place orders and be fulfilled.

I can find Chuunibyou LN in Amazon Japan, but every volume is out of stock now.

And Amazon JP definitely reports its sales to Oricon.

Amazon has never carried the Chuunibyou light novels. The listings have always been for third-party sellers, which don't report their sales to Oricon.

I did not check the Amazon pages before so I would just believe what you said.

On the other hand, I see Bunkyodo having a Chuunibyou novel fair: http://www.bunkyodo.co.jp/c/tenpo/chuni_cam201210.htm
Bunkyodo is a national bookstore chain. It bugs me a bit to think that even Bunkyodo does not report its sales to Oricon.

Oricon gathers information from over 28,000 CD/DVD/BD stores for their disc rankings. In comparison, they have a total of 1,907 bookstores they get reports from. There's also listings of which stores report to Oricon on those links. Bunkyodo reports disc sales but not book sales.

Season 3 when!?!

When the director stops working on terrible shows like Another and when A-1 isn't animating a dozen shows a season (SAO, Fairy Tail, Space Bros, Shinsekai Yori, Magi and so on..)

Seriously if any show needs another season, it's Oofuri. Judging from the three year wait from season 1 (2007) to season 2 (2010), perhaps next year will be the year of season 3?
even though I want another season of Natsume Yuujinchou :x

A third season of Oofuri would probably still be successful, but it did take a big hit from season one (average 19,297) to season two (average 8,396). It might be assumed that there's not a lot to gain if the manga is still doing so well already without another season.

Yeah and I'm afraid the more Aniplex (or Kodansha, or whoever) waits the less profitable it'll become and thus no desire for a continuation.

edit: and there's still no blu-ray of season 1? I'm surprised it's been this long and nothing about it has surfaced.

Bunkyodo reports disc sales but not book sales.
Thanks for the info. It is interesting to know because I have bought books countless times in Bunkyodo and those shops I went all have book section that is as big as, often bigger than, its disc section.

Really hoping for a season 3, but guessing it'll do even worse than season 2 what with the focus on Musashino and all.

Vagabond! Yes. Can't wait to read more. I really wish Giant Killing and Hajime no Ippo were published in the US.
