THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------

This was another entertaining episode. That new girl's voice is kinda....uh, weird. The cheer leading part was funny and Rikka seems to have the butterflies during the practice.

So much abuse this episode. That dream and the imaginary fight with the broomsticks was pure epic. 5/5. Oh, the Engrish

THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The episode made my day with the following,

SANAE IS LOVE! Super intro of her. I liked all of it and its points. I would love Sanae to wake me up like that. It would be super cool.

Strong point of Sanae that just out-pawns Rikka, for one the start of it in the spoiler
showed a nice interruption. Sanae was shown there very nicely and MOE with the light around her. As it follows in the spoiler
it shows us a side of Yuuta abusing Sanae which was not cool on my part. Moron should love her more instead of being so mean to her. The poses of Sanae were great there and enforced more MOE from her.

Poor Sanae sadly in the spoiler
got entangled in her own hair and that’s never a good point to have. I felt bad for her there. Despite that I loved her positive MOE and light at that part while being entangled in her hair.

One of the intros in the spoiler
shows Sanae like that girl in Kill Bill with the chains and balls. So it made me think of it.

About Sanae VS Rikka, the start was totally hilarious in the spoiler
as the fight IRL starts with mere brooms. ENTERING OVER 9000 IMAGINATION! As it started, I found it quite enchanting of seeing the surroundings and dark atmosphere in the spoiler
as it showed quite well. However Sanae made really nice things once again more than Rikka could ever hope for with the following,

FAR FAR out-pawning Rikka’s own charms for me. While try having MOST DARING CENSORING in the spoiler
and you see that I am in total mass hysteria as I have not seen such a daring well done censor and precise since a while. At the very least recommended shoot towards it as this comes not often and of all done by that studio.

The fight in the spoiler
had some good move exchanges as the spoiler suggests along with excellent display.

Finally I like the end with Sanae in the spoiler
that book is pretty cool and she was quite funny with those glasses TBH.

In conclusion. Sanae»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»Rikka! Might edit later.

BTW End Art in the spoiler
is chibbi adorable Rikka with the cat.

Image Stitches and Pic Dump are finally done in the BLOG:

Some nice cheerleading outfits done.

I was stunned when Rikka and Deko crawled on the floor fighting their epic battle.

Dialogues are still brilliant.

And Shinka joins the party as one would expected. I wonder if she has something weird in her too.
Well, actually I think it's a given. Everyone in this club must have something.

I literally LOL'ed at the 日本語でおk part, seriously. Also Nnap Club, pffff...

Dekomori voice is so cute, but it's strange at the same time, she kinda remember me of how a prinny talks. Her shared "visions" with Rikka are so funny, the dialogues are so full of autism hahaha

I've watched on a low quality stream on himado so I won't comment anything of the fight scene, it looked okay but I can't be sure.

Omg yes! Sanae finally makes an appearance and I loved every minute of it. That battle she had with Rikka was EPIC. Dat animation!

Now that they've formed a club and Nibutani joined, the cast are finally in place and things can only get better from here.

Speaking of Nibutani, she totally wants Yuuta. Maybe she's also a closet chuunibyou and has finally found a place where she can set herself free ;D. Whatever the case, a love triangle flag has been set. Will be interesting to see if it develops.

MOE POWER OVER 9000. These winks are going to kill me!!!!!!! The new girls seems kinda annoying but meh we didn't learn much for her. The whole club idea is weird and the last member even more. I can't wait for the next ep :3

Nice ep per usual :) loved the bit where rikka gets hit by the paper, great comedic timing/effect.
Fight wasn't as epic as last weeks one but still pretty cool.
<3 Shinka, so cute ^^ Sadly I doubt that is the true shipping combination this story will take...ahh well...there's always doujins :P

This show is so hillarious, I love how everyone except Yuuta plays along with Rikka's imagination. Shinka raises this show's moe levels from really high to >9000. Also the battle scenes still impress, I wonder what KyoAni would be capable of making if they made a mecha or action series.

Also was it just me or did Rikka seem unhappy with Yuuta's reaction at the end.

This was a good episode imo, and is it bad that I like some of the "fight scenes" in this anime more than some in actual action anime lol?

Pretty good episode. I didn't really expect Sanae to be Rikka's "servant" though. I thought she would be one of those rich girls that took an interest in Yuuta. Hm... With Nibutani watching Yuuta and the circle together, I think she may have been jealous about the girls getting so close to Yuuta. With her waving and winking at Yuuta, I think that's a flag. I'm going to guess this is going to be a harem series as well.

The amount of engrish in this show is appalling but i sitll love it. It's fucking hilarious

I think that nibutani is really jealous that yuuta is spending a lot of time with rikka so she went into yandere mode and infiltrated to club. (That's what i want to happen)

I strongly doubt it, since, thankfully, the few interviews I've read from the director indicate that it's primarily a Yuuta x Rikka romantic comedy, which is great, because this turning into a harem would ruin the best element of the show, which is the Rikka and Yuuta dynamic. Even though I really don't think this is the case, I could slightly see the possibility of Nibutani liking him, but Sanae and Kumin have shown no signs whatsoever that they'll ever do so as well, and I hope and expect it to remain that way.

On the opposite for me, it reminded me how amazing the mind can be in condensing imagination no matter the space/situation nor movements as it makes then all OVER 9000 to say the least in terms of imagination and mixing it with reality/realism itself.

The possibility of Rikka x Yuuta is strong but I hope Sanae reverses that since that bed greeting tells me possible attraction there.

The more I think about it the more it refers back to Gogo from Kill Bill. I just remember that ball chain girl with the patch in school girl uniform.

I was surprised too at the violence level but remember he is mentally sick to a certain extent despite trying the hardest to stop his disease or at least lessen the occurrences of it. I think soon he won't hold back and be his old self.

She can always betray at one point. I think she has potential in being tricky despite clumsy.

Pretty damn funny episode!

New girl, Sanae, was funny as hell, and I love the hair spinning gag when she wrapped herself up!

Another 'mind's eye' fight scene. These are pure comedy gold, I need to show the scenes to some friends to get them hooked on this show! Nothing beats last weeks fight yet but we have a whole series to get an absolute gem. (Series end final battle with the sister should be immense!)

He held that gun like a boss. Who knew he still kept that thing under his pillow. Looks like Yutta is gonna have his hands full with another delusional girl. lol

The funniest moment for me was when Rikka called forth "Catherine" and the teacher asked her what she thought of Rikka.

PS, Shinka Nibutani so has a crush on Yuuta.

No Idea how Nibutani can likes Yuuta in the 1st place. I hate these kind of love come from nowhere like that. The show needs at least one strong event for watchers to understand where is that " like or love" come from. Hope they will clear it in the future ep.

All she's done so far is flirt a little, and you don't really need to 'like' someone to do that. Maybe Yuuta is a good looking dude.

It is also implied she is an ex-chuunibyou.

This show's still hilarious for me. I don't fancy Sanae much, she seems pretty annoying, and I didn't find her to be all that funny. That said Rikka continues to be crazily awesome. I bet Nibutani has the Chuunibyou syndrome as well judging by how she wants to join their group XD.

The syndrome thing is maybe a little overboard, but I guess they are doing what they need to: run with the premise. They are doing what they need to do, although the cheese factor does get a little too high at some points for me.

I'm going to stick with this. The episodes are getting laughts out of me and Rikka's reactions (not so much her monologues on !@#$@#) are priceless. I'm not too convinced on the new blonde character though... Her role and Rikka's in the group kind of overlap (so far at least).

First KyoAni show to pass the three episode test since Clannad!

Although it wasn't quite as good as the second, this was still a great, highly enjoyable episode. I felt that this episode was terrifically paced, allowing for a thoroughly entertaining balance between the introduction of Sanae and the forming of what is essentially the chuunibyou club. The lighthearted, embarrassing tone works really well in creating an atmosphere that is quite interesting and engaging. One of the only criticisms I have of this particular episode is that Rikka seemed to be more of a secondary character, thus creating a noticeable lack of the Rikka and Yuuta dynamic, which remains the best element of the show by far.

The best moment was, of course, yet another of Rikka's wildly imaginative delusions that are illustrated by way of an action sequence. I always like the transitions from the fantastical illusion to the mundane reality, such as, in this case, Sanae and Rikka rolling along on the floor. Aside from the fight, my favorite scene involved Rikka feeding a willing Yuuta, followed by the class attentively clapping, effectively illuminating the gradually altered nuances of his personality, due to Yuuta's interaction with her becoming increasingly natural and familiar. Their relationship and, by extension, their interactions, is the most interesting, enjoyable aspect of the show, so it was a bit disappointing to see that element temporarily overshadowed by a multitude of other developments throughout this episode. Since their relationship provides the most opportunity for character development and growth, I'm really looking forward to the return of that focus. Yuuta's reluctance to join the club was unfortunate, since I feel this was a missed opportunity to continue the portrayal of a gradual deterioration of his hesitant nature, since he'll now likely join solely due to Nibutani's unexpected involvement. The engrish exchange with the teacher was hilarious, particularly due to the teacher's ability to effortlessly play along with Rikka's embarrassing delusion.

Sanae is a surprisingly good character so far. Her mutual appreciation for delusions provides some hilarious interactions with Rikka. Despite this, her characterization is a bit lacking though, as she's occasionally a bit too similar to Rikka's own personality. Although Nibutani is pretty likable, she's definitely the worst, least interesting character up to this point. Her joining the club was predictable, and, hopefully, rather than indicating she likes Yuuta, it's instead a sign that she possesses chuunibyou tendencies as well, which would be excellent character development for her, while also serving as an instrument to dissolve Yuuta's needless affections for her. As such, Yuuta's continual infatuation with Nibutani has become quite tiresome and unnecessary, given the distinct inevitability that he'll fall for Rikka, since, of course, this is their story. I'm assuming the subtle hints that Nibutani might like Yuuta are basically used in an attempt to throw off expectations. Of course, I'm also hoping that Nibutani doesn't have any feelings for Yuuto, since a triangle would likely depreciate the natural development of Rikka and Yuuta's relationship, and she wouldn't have a chance anyway, so it'd ultimately be a waste of time.

The production values are, for the most part, terrific. Though frequently understated, the direction is really good, due to it's subtle confidence in establishing the contrast in atmosphere and tone between the playful moments in reality and the dramatic nature of the action sequences. The animation continues to be superbly consistent, displayed most notably throughout the fantastic fight, while also impressing with it's ability to capture Rikka's movements in a wonderfully exaggerated fashion. The music is relatively unspectacular, but occasionally great.

All in all, Chuunibyou manages to consistently exceed my expectations, and it's definitely becoming one of the best shows of the season. Despite this, I do feel the story would benefit considerably with an increased focus on the development of Yuuta and Rikka's relationship, which I assume is imminent, and, although I enjoy the lighthearted tone of the story, I'd also prefer a heightened level of realism towards the narrative's conclusion, in which, through Yuuta's help, Rikka is accepting of her need to essentially relinquish a portion of her childhood.

Also, Touka's easily best girl, followed closely by Rikka. Nibutani is the worst girl. She's still good, but definitely the worst.

Not bad for a generic comedy show. The quirkiness is reminiscent of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

^this is what ive been thinking about the whole episode, and im loving it! i wouldnt say this is a slapstick comedy, but people gets disappointed of comedy shows when there is no plot or development.

the comedy is just pure win.
