What I think most probably won't happen in Senran Kagura is the dark tone behind the story of Sekirei. I would put Highschool DxD higher than Sekirei for a "fanservice battle series" and one reason is I am ambivalent to the portrayal of some sekirei that took on a master-slave feel and then there is my lack of conviction about its worldview. All very personal preference thing. Yet I would agree that it is better done than Ben-To or Hyakka Ryouran (if only the anime follows the LN instead of the original development in the 2nd half Hyakka Ryouran could have been really great because I really love the character design and in particular its unique art style). Anyway... So far I have checked the official website of Senran Kagura -- as there are two games out already I think they should have more than enough material to build the world and the story. The website has voice samples of all the characters in the 2 games, both the good and the bad side, and I know the seiyuu are great. |
