According to an interview with Urobuchi Gen on the brochure of Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Movie 1: Hajimari no Monogatari, the Madoka Magica project will not end with the three movies. However, Urobuchi does not know what the continuation of the project will be like. According to Sports Hochi newspaper, Urobuchi plans a two-cours TV series and he is thinking of inviting a new writer. He said Madoka project must be continued even if he leaves the team.

Sources: Scan of the article, Sports Hochi

Unconfirmed info:
The third movie "Mahou Shoujo Madoka Majica New Chapter: The Tale of Rebellion" (Shinsho: Hangyaku no Monogatari) will be premiered in 2013. The story will take place in a newly reconstructed world.

Whether or not it's milking depends on the effort involved.

I'm content with the series as-is and the movies are already a bit much, but hey I'll bite.

It's highly likely that they will adapt Kazumi Magica.

I hoped this would happen, and it did. Madokami heard my prayers, looking forward to his more than to anything else.

Shouldn't they think of how to continue to project, and see if it's worthwhile instead of announcing that they are going to make a new season. Although I just hope they aren't just milking the series and actually plan something of some substance.

I don't know how they'll continue the story. After all, it ended completely. Maybe spin-off or something I guess, like all those Code Geass stuff

Interesting. I wonder what they're going to plan because a new season for Madoka seems unlikely.

The series had a pretty solid conclusion, unless they adapt Mahou Shoujo Kazumi★Magica - The Innocent Malice I can't see the point of them dragging the series any further.

I'm not sure if I'd even give the movies a shot. Anyhow, as already mentioned by Sanguis, the anime had a pretty solid conclusion so I didn't see this coming, not from Urobuchi at least.

I hope so. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Majica is one of my favorite series and I'd like to see the others animated.

Silly people, oh silly!
They have one of best selling series and want to make more money.
Why? It makes no sense at all :/

Don't do it!
It's milking and I don't approve it - didn't buy series but my voice does matter!

If it's good, it's good, regardless of whether or not it's milking. If the continuation is the same level of quality as the series, I'll be more than satisfied.

Daheck?

We're probably going to hear no end of Madoka. Much like how Evangelion is still spinning off movies up to today.

Whatever. Just make it good and (almost) everyone will be fine

Well, if they they keep the quality of the series as it is awesome, I say why the **** not. Even if it was a solid conclusion to the anime as most of you said, they may manage to make a satisfying continuation.

So bring it on Gen-san!

Dont know why people are screaming about milking it and not to do anymore. At least wait till whatever they do is out and if it is good then is that not fine? we would of got something else good out of it and something new to watch out of a franchise we like. Though if it is bad then you can feel free bash the crap out of it and call milking.

The series wasn't bad, but definitely not good enough for this much milk. Move on already.

There's a difference in waiting 10 years before making a remake movie every few years and waiting 10 months to make money off recaps.

One of five best selling anime ever gets second season after movie. Yeah, that's definitely too much milking. Seriously, using this word as a joke is OK but when you're serious about it...

You seem to have some maths problems. I'll help you. There are 18 months between ending of Madoka and recap movies, not 10.
There are many series which get recap episodes in the middle of their run. Also, movies have vastly improved graphics.

Wow... and I thought the movie recap trilogy the very year after the anime aired was pushing it. This... is just going too far. They're not gonna stop forcing this show down everyone's throats, squeezing every cent they can out of the otaku hype while it's fresh. Eventually people are gonna get sick of it.

I'm just happy I can go to Walmart without seeing posters and cardboard cutouts of this show everywhere.

This makes little sense - so when they should squeeze it?
In 1-3-5 years? People won't buy it then, now it's the best moment. Unless it develops into some long running franchise in type of Gundam or Macross - those are kings of milking.

Sure some may feel that it's too much, but I don't think that Shaft (or those who are behind this) care too much about opinions of people in the West.

Why not?

It will come anyway. Good that at least it is confirmed that it is not over yet.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.
