Hope it get's translated. ;)

The only thing I hated in this first episode was Danny getting burned alive. I hate it when animals are treated this way, even if it's fictional.
What if the Hokey Pokey is what it is all about?

It truly was quite despicable of Dio; it's basically there to REALLY hammer in how much of a dick Dio is, if it wasn't already clear. I was honestly glad they didn't show him jumping out of the furnace while on fire, because in the manga they did, but I don't think it's really necessary to show that much.

This was much better than expected, I really loved this.
But damn I hate Dio for burning the dog alive, seriously...

That was awesome. As a fan of Jojo, this episode seemed like a dream come true - finally, a great adaption of Phantom Blood is upon us, and now I can't wait to see part 2 (Battle Tendancy).

Just watched thee first episode and it moves at a brisk pace, and although it tones down a significantly horrifying scene (one any dog lover would hate Dio Brando forever for), I've got little to no complaints.

I also had no idea that "Roundabout" from YES would be the ED theme! That was a very nice surprise, and I hope the other saga will have classic tracks, like the very song that inspired the name of the series & protagionist, "Get Back" by the Beatles (which would kick ass but be very expensive to acquire).

Also loving the animation style for this. Yeah, sometimes it seems off, but for the amount of poses and the sound FX kept in, it still works well and feels more like the manga than the Stardust Crusaders OVAs did.

A great start and fine adaptation of the first chapters of this long running manga.

Damn Dio, you're absolutely heartless. Poor JoJo ;_;

I always wanted to know what this was about so after watching this episode, I can say I'm very excited to watch more. Very stylish, very interesting.

Have to say despite Phantom Blood being my least favourite in the Jojo series, this episode was brilliant; the voices were perfect, the art style and use of colour are just like Araki's (never was a fan of the over muscled style seen in the earlier parts) and it was over the top without being silly. The only criticism is that the pace might have been a bit fast paced for those unfamiliar with the series and some of the manga sound effect moments were a bit excessive. I can't wait till they move onto Battle Tendency and when the Stands are introduced \m/.

Also:
Part 4>Part 7>Part 6>Part 5>Part 3>Part 2>Part 1

I'd include Part 8 on my list, but its too early to give it a definite spot.

I'd barely call these fight scenes.
It'll get much better later on.

Just watched first episode. Been wanting to get into the series for a while, BUT the shipping is terrible on the first/second volume of the (English) manga (Yes I'm aware it not the first part).
Though back on topic this was an awesome episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew Dio was meant to be an excellent villain but never expected just how much of a bastard he be...

I just said that you CAN enjoy the anime when read the manga. In fact, the enjoyment is even greater because it is so close to it. Do you have mental problems or do you just lack reading comprehension?

No I understood you fine it's just that your way of thinking is kinda retarded...(no offense)
How am I gonna enjoy it more if I'm spoiled? There's no element of surprise. It's definitely more enjoyable not knowing anything. And you want me to know EVERYTHING.
"because it is so close to it"? That's all the more reason why I should stick with only one medium -_-

lol dummy.

I'm not sure if this is known yet but DUWANG's subs are the best and the group you should go with if you want the authentic original English JoJo experience.

I came all over my screen last night from watching this... Love the animation, obviously love the characters because it's Jojo's and rlly hope they'll follow up with Battle Tendancy cuz this episode covered all the way up to the end of chapter 5 and there are only 44 chapters in Phantom Blood series.

Should I watch the older 2000 series before I watch the new one 2012 version??? Are they the same? Thanks in advance.

No the older one covers "Stardust Crusaders" which is part 3 of JoJo's Bizarre adventure where this is part 1.

The character designs make my eyes bleed and the manly-ness is almost irritating, but besides those things it was pretty good. Dio is one sick bastard.

I can already tell you'd hate Hokuto no Ken? It's manliness is off the charts in comparison. Oh yeah and the designs are a bit different from the original manga ones, just a little more modern looking.

Thank you : )

This 2012 one is the first part. That old OVAs is in fact the much, much later story. So, no.

Besides, that old OVA cut out a lot of stuffs.

Ah I see Thanks for the reply back : )

This was great. It had a very similar feel to the manga, the art is great and it really had a nice overall old school-vibe to it. The pacing was real fast but didn't make it hard to follow and it's a shonen show after all so no complaints from me there.

I, for one, really like the first arc. Sure the story is not that good, but I like how JoJo is such a good person and Dio so completely evil. It's a total cliche, but very well done in the manga, and the anime doesn't seem to be any worse from what I've seen, which in my experience is pretty rare.

Definitely following this, hope they animate up to the third arc : >

Is the anime only going to be 26 eps in total or will there be more after the initial 26? I was under the impression that the anime was going to cover all arcs.

You don't release a trailer like this unless you have the plan in mind to animate them all.

Ofcourse it mostly depends on the success of the anime if they keep going or not.

How can this be the worst part of the series?
This episode alone I enough for me to rate this a 10/10, but I'll wait until halfway to do so.

I'd imagine that's only for, like, parts 1 & 2; they've gotta tread the waters here, to see how successful this is -- if it's a runaway hit, we can expect the rest of the parts to be adapted (and with a nice budget, if it does well enough).

But yeah, at the current rate they're going,

As Vorlianis said, they probably wouldn't have made that promotional teaser for ALL the parts unless they had the intention of adapting the whole thing.

Not really. That teaser was VERY vague in that it was released along with the whole games/ JJBA 25th anniversary etc.

For all you know, that teaser MAY not be specifically advertising the anime but more about the manga in general, just that they are 'also' adapting an anime. On the whole, yeah, I think they're testing the waters with parts 1 and 2.

Well, I agree; there's no guarantee for anything past 1 & 2. However, I'm sure they have a game plan for more afterwards if, again, it's a success -- it'd be odd to just do parts 1 & 2, and simply leave it there (though I suppose you could have these two to simply serve as a prequel to the part 3 OVAs, from an animation standpoint, though that's a stretch, to say the least).

As for what we can expect, the hardcore Jojo fanbase in Japan is rabid, but outside of manga, it's hard to say how well this'll perform; I'm certain the dedicated fanbase will be a substantial factor, though.
