According to Anime!Anime!, Warner Brothers has announced that a live action movie of light novel "All You Need is Kill" will be premiered in the US on March 14th 2014. The director is Doug Liman, and Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt will play the leading roles in the movie.
"If you have time to think of a beautiful end, then live beautifully until the end." Sakata Gintoki
"Death is terrible for anyone. Young or old, good or evil, it's all the same. Death is impartial. There is no especially terrible death. That's why death is so fearsome. Your deeds, your age, your personality, your wealth, your beauty... They are all meaningless in the face of death." Kirishiki Sunako
Eeeeee - I don't know what the worst affliction upon the anime/manga/novel world is - Tom Cruise or the super wooden Emily Blunt? Or Hollywood?
I may watch out of curiousity once it's on TV.
Well they said they said they were doing it 2 years ago so it seems like it might not be that bad. Tom Cruise has been in more good movies than bad. So it might do well.

I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this. I don't know why everyone likes to be so negative? This seems to have a fair chance of being somewhat decent.
I wonder how many hollywood haters in this thread actually watched good japanese movie, not cheap japanese soap with actors who can't act and directors who can't direct. I guess most lists will start with Battle Royale and end with Battle Royale.

It shouldn't be a matter of what type of movies Cruise has been in, but what type has the director directed, considering Cruise likely has little to no say in the production of the movie. That said, the directed apparently directed The Bourne Identity, and Jumpers, the latter of which wasn't too bad and if I recall correctly, the former received a lot of critical praise.
