"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

wow i miss November so much, he was such a great character and i think misaki liked November and i think November liked misaki too!

misaki is so upset throughout the episode maybe she regrets that she didn't get to know November better. well misaki definitely miss November :3 they showed the hands of misaki and hei because they are close but not that close they both lost people they cared about ! :3

The episode was both serious and funny.
Everything is tense due to the end being near. What was the price of Hei's sister? and.. what was the ability?

That sudden Hei-Misaki date tho.

Best ship is now Hei and Misaki. Too bad the ship will never set sail.

It’s pretty obvious that Pai originally had Hei’s powers. Pai is probably paying for every time Hei uses his powers from inside of the gate.

Things got really hyped towards the end. Definitely feels like this show is heading towards its conclusion. Hope the season won’t end with a cliffhanger.

I'd suggest people rewatch the first ep, atleast the first 15 minutes. Alot of things become very clear, or should I say, more specific questions arrise. Such as, that dude who could control gravity was the first contracter that was shown to be killed by Hei, and it was confirmed that a star fell right after. And there's also that bit with the box and the organization that it was for.

Interesting. I'll have to rewatch that part.

One of the most powerful strong defence/offence contracters I've seen with powerful antigravity that can pin down any contracter ensnared is dispatched with no more than a minute to his name. That's a shame if you ask me.

Hei's team is actually one of the weakest, I dare stick my neck out that to say that plot armour has been their saving grace. Serious plot armour. Hei can be counted upon to dodge any attack, feign weakness and then attack PERFECTLY when it counts to finish the duel.

Hei does everything (assassinations, espionage, stealing etc) and his power isn't nearly as quick and wide ranging as some other abilities we've seen. Wong/Huang is nothing but the middle man. Mao is the manager with no powerful evasive, decoy and attack abilities. An example, if you took out November 11 from the group, the group would still limp on. Take away Hei and the team is at best an information gathering group who could never access deep into dangerous territory using human connections.

Yin can only spy with water. In other words, Mao and Yin are nothing more than a flexible super duper (with weaknesses) tracker that covers areas with and without the presence of water.

Jesus christ, I'm so sick of seeing these detectives. I hope they're both dead by the end of the series.

In this episode we finally see Hei's sister again...

" I make the stars disappears again," when it's an assassin who said that it kinda feels like the star is a metaphor of something else. Maybe it's literal meaning in this anime but it just feel that way for me.

Why the gravity user have to be beaten so early though. His power looks really strong and I was excited to see the battle. -___-

I think the reason why Hei's so powerful is because he was already incredibly physically fit and agile before he became a contractor. This past episode told us that Hei didn't become a contractor until after South America and when we saw him hang that guy at the beginning, he presumably didn't have his powers yet. He was basically Batman.

Then he gets his contract and add electricity on top of that...plus whatever weird gate-disappearing thing he did at the end of episode 21. He's probably one of the most powerful contractors out there.

And I still don't know Mao's story!

Good ep. So calm at beginning outside of the tragic opening, especially liked Hei and Kirihara hanging out - they have great rapport. They really ramped up the excitement at the end. Good to see more glimpses of what happened in the past with Hei, Pai, etc.

This episode was way overdue with some minor flashbacks of Hei with his sister, too long to get there but its something, and even then, it wasn't that many and didn't contextualize the whole situation properly just yet. Plus the date between Li (Hei) and Misaki was nice, they've casually bumped into each other every blue moon so seeing her want to just let go of her stress for a bit and hang out with someone she clearly puts trust into to hang out with him for the day was nice. Good episode as a whole, although to make the show better, I wish some of these plot revelations and teases were revealed a lot earlier and not stuffed into this one.

So Kirihara actually cared about November 11. I liked him as well, sad to see him dead. Also damn, all the things are happening now! Apparently the gravity guy in this episode also appeared in the first one?

A vast improvement to Episode 22 in structure, delivery and narrative. Solid proof that you can have what is mostly a "nothing happens" episode in a plot heavy anime and still have it consistently engaging.
Elf man is surprisingly cool as well. Looks like he didn't survive that arc for nothing.
