Gundam Unicorn first real Gundam series

I'm just getting into Gundam and the only series I've seen is G Gundam. Is there anything I need to watch before watching Unicorn?

Well, ideally you should watch:

Mobile Suit Gundam (or the movie trilogy)
Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (avoid the movie version for the sake of continuity)
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char`s Counterattack

and then Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

:o Thank you Mecha-san~ I myself have been slowly getting into the UC universe and loving it but I wanted to find the right order to watch them, since I've only just gotten the first series I wasn't sure where to go after I was done.
