Did Maya REALLY deserve to be princess?

At the end, Nina gives all her stones to Maya so Maya could be princess instead. Nina stayed with Ayu, Tsujiai, and Kaji. But Maya sent everyone to the Dark Zone. Does Maya deserve to be princess?
