THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Okay I know that this movie was made in 83 and had horrendous CGI...but that was a pretty damn good movie.

Really stylish movie. I loved the soundtrack.

God damn, this was so fucking cool.
The CGI helicopter was really dated, but other than that, the movie had a ton of style and really great visual directing.
The soundtrack was also awesome, sounding just like you'd expect from a cool 80's action flick.

Lol, that guy hired Golgo to kill him, but he shouldn't have done it in front of his daughter and wife.

Here you have a killer for hire and somehow he wasn't the most fucked up man in this story. Son decided to commit suicide by hired killer on his father's birthday in front of his wife and daughter only for his father to one-up him by turning his granddaughter into a killer and "gifts" his daughter-in-law to be raped by some lunatic all the while knowing that his son killed himself.

Liked the first third better than the last two thirds with the introduction of Snake and crazy dad.

Not sure who thought it was a good idea to use that level of CGI.

Fairly standard action film (that needed just a little more action, to be honest) elevated by absolutely phenomenal direction. Dezaki at the top of his game.

As for the legendary CGI helicopter, well, it's jarring, yeah, but considering every other scene was pretty much perfect I'll allow it.

Wow, I didn't expect this to be so awesome - a new favorite. Sound, character design, set design, color, story, direction was all top notch.

Golgo was super likable. I didn't expect to say that, but he has honor and an element of morality perhaps? The dad was terrible of course. The son was tragic. That snake guy was super creepy. I felt so bad for Rita. Damn.

I honestly didn't see any issues with the cgi helicopter scene. It looks more realistic than anything I've ever seen.

I'm sorry but I wondered if someone can help me out.
I really really liked Golgo 13: The Professional when I checked it out for the first time a year ago and I finally found a Japanese audio commenatry to it. Do you possibly know if there's any English translation of this commentary available? I would greatly appreciate any help.
