For me it depends on the show. In some shows like Zero no Tsukaima season three, I hated it, but for some reason I liked it in every other anime I've seen.

If it's unnecessary in regards to the show, no.

If it's in a harem/ecchi/romance show, yes. :3

If you mean fanservice as in something like Genshiken that bombards you with a bunch of anime references to satisfy your dorky inner Otaku, then yes, I love it.

If you mean panty shots, boobies, and short skirts.. I'd say I wouldn't want them out of my ecchi animu.

I don't mind it, though anime would be better off without it.

Depends on the series and the nature of the fanservice. I assume you're talking about ecchi fanservice, which I'm mostly indifferent about in ecchi comedy/romance etc shows, but it really can be distracting and stupid in a lot of cases. Like Strike Witches. It'd have been a lot better without all the pantsu highlighting low angles.

I think a little ecchi fanservice in most shows is okay, and I really don't care one way or the other, but what annoys me is when they show a schoolgirl flying backward and the leg or whatever covers it up. Look, if you're going to make a scene where fanservice is possible, don't go out of your way to make sure panties or whatever don't show. If you're not going to include fanservice in an anime, don't create such situations while making it.

I don't like ecchi. and making a series more or turning into ecchi for fans is just... why? Ugh.

but in general, just follow the darn storyline if there is one, don't mess with it.

um depends if there is so much it might as well be a hentai, then ya it annoys me. but otherwise i don't care.
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

I don't mind it, as long as it doesn't become so overbearing as to detract from the rest of the show.

Assuming that the show in question isn't one where T&A is its raison d'être, of course.

Depends on what I'm watching. If it's a serious action show, I don't want any fan service. If it's a comedy/romance, then I'm fine with some.

It really depends on the show. Some series the fanservice just fits in so well that you don't really notice it, but others it clashes too much with the general mood that you end up wondering they they'd put that in at all.

Depends on the show. Example: Code Geass; simply didn't need the boobage of Kallen and C.C.

it totally has everything to do with the anime that you're watching.

I dont mind it at all and i believe some people over react WAY to much against it, its all for fun, its anime for crying out loud...

I hate overdoes. I believe it kills the storyline after a while
But in harem, romance, and comedy.... I'm okay with a bit

Ya it is ok with some types of anime, but if you overdo it then its just annoying and takes away from the story. A little is good, and the timing is also important, a lot of random service is what aggravates me.

If it goes far enough. I hate those fanservice where it just doesnt fit and it also just shows maybe one "fanservice" scene, but thats it. If it doesn't work all the time in that sense it just doesn't work.

It basically depends on the show. If it's a hentai or a harem show then it's expected but otherwise it shouldn't be there.

I think fanservice never hurts^^; but whats important is that if there is a story. when the producers think that they only have to provide fanservice and not plot at all than it is not really enjoyable anymore.

It depends on the show if it does it to much like every 5 seconds there is a panty shot large breasts seem to be in ever anime ecchi or not so i can let that one go lol but it really ruins a anime that could be good by making it softcore porn, one of the ones that do it right to me was burst angel

fanservice is anime... anime is fanservice...

if its not fun for you, its fun for someone else no matter how corny OR gay it is. So i like any and all fanservice that involves oppai, women, lolis, and any female character. Men and bishie BS fanservice is just wrong but those appeal to the Fat Yaoi Girls (but it at least appeals to a group)

A perfect example would be the large increase of number of fanservice shots from Code Geass season one, to season two. In season one alot of people (well japanese people at least) were screaming for more C.C. and Kallen fanservice... and you can obviously tell they did just that in season two. Another example would be Rosario Vampire season one, to season two. They're all there for obvious reasons. So its all a matter of a put up or shut up type of thing.

Not acknowledging fan service is like not acknowledging you're watching an anime. Usually just the title, picture, and synopsis should more than suffice into what style of fanservice you will most likely face. Be it bishi, yuri, oppai, etc.

If you don't like the fanservice chances are, you shouldn't be watching that anime in the first place. Even if its a super serious anime and they stick in that random hot springs or beach episode, if you're turned off from a whole series by one episode... than what does that mean in your integrity as an anime viewer?

Meh, if you dont like fanservice imo, just skip it or dont bother watching the series :)

I usually don't mind fan service unless it's really out of place.

Nothing wrong with a few pantsu's floating about the screen or boobies bouncing about the place :P

I can do without fanservice. I like it when it's done decently, too much fanservice easily ruins an entire show though.

It depends on what kind of fanservice you mean. I usually approve of references to other anime, and certain other kinds of fanservice that appeal to my particular interests (or fetishes, if you will), such as gothic lolita clothing, yaoi/yuri, etc.

As for nudity as fanservice, I don't like it. I think it cheapens the story, unless the context calls for it (in which case it's not really fanservice, is it?). This mainly applies to otherwise "serious" shows, though. I have a higher tolerance for these things if they're used in satirical contexts (Kaere in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, etc.).

Then again, I'm no big fan of revealing clothes in real life, either. I guess that's just the way I swing, and I'm the same as everyone else, using the term "fanservice" for things other people like, and "quality content" for my own preferences.

It deepends on the show and waht kind of fanservice. I don't like ecchi fanservice at all, it disturbs the show. The worst is when there is a wonderful season, and first out in episode 1 of the next they start of with ecchi fanservice scene... It seriously annoys me.

Depends on the show.
If its a ecchi, harem, comedy show then its fine.
But I hate fanservice when its not really necessary.

I am weary of it all. A little fanservice here and there is ok, and even amusing, but it feels like they are getting pretty desperate for cash now, and the only way they can rake it in (hopefully to fund more worthwhile projects) is to create stupid boobfests for all the Fat Otaku Boys to drool over. Bleh.

I can tolerate fanservice when it is done in sort of satrical way - when it deliberately makes fun of itself. (such as Godannar)

But when a show with fanservice seems to take itself seriously, or throws it in randomly amidst what otherwise might be an interesting plot, it feels really out of place and distracting.

Blah, it's hard to explain ^_^

If the fanservice fits well with the scene, then often times it is very funny and I like it. When there is too much though and it just feels unwarranted then a hate it.

I only see fan service as a "bonus" and shouldnt be depended by what kind of show it is.
I dont think an anime will become "better" by removing/adding fanservice

I prefer my anime without fanservice. It's cheap and tacky, and does nothing to improve a show, in some cases even detracting from it- see Minami-ke Okawari for an excellent example of writers stooping to constant pointless fanservice at the expense of anything funny.

That was probably more "artistic" nudity than blatant fan-service.

There are two kinds of fanservice:

1. The kind that rewards you for sticking with the show.

2. The kind that thinks you are an idiot.

You know which is which.

You know which is not needed.

Thats not nudity... she's an android... not a human so its not nudity

...right? >;)

in all honesty, there is a difference between relevant nudity (not fanservice) and irrelevant nudity (fanservice)

I don't really mind fan service I guess, but that's because I'm some perverted dude. But it doesn't really affect the way I view anime so anime without fanservice wouldn't really make much of a difference to me

Actually I find perverted jokes to be funny, so I guess that wouldn't work without the fanservice?
