According to Comic Natalie, a new anime of Initial D was announced in Weekly Young Magazine vol.35. The details of the project will be revealed in the next issue of the magazine to be released on August 6th.

It certainly is about street racing. I have no idea when the anime aired, I've just read the first couple volumes of the manga myself. But I will totally watch.

We're just living in the 90s.

Also, sort of want. I want more Initial D, but I don't really like how Project D actually takes the races seriously. I want more WHOA HES DRIFTING LIKE HES ON A STRAIGHTAWAY and LOOK AT THOSE HAIRPINS than serious business.

The first season's PS1 graphics were actually charming and 4th Stage was alright. Cel Shading could probably work.

Didn't like 4th stage as much compared to 1st and 2nd but after giving it more of a chance I ended up enjoying it. Hopefully this will continue the storyline.
