That's all what we got in most of the first half, with little to no plot whatsoever, that's what people were complaining about. And yea, the fanservice increased with the 2nd half. |

Most of the SAO complaints weren't about fanservice per se, but were about how sexist SAO was (Asuna being the wich fulfillment of a male fantasy). The complaints about fanservice and this being etchi started more with the AOL arc, and the increasing amount related to Suguha. I had originally defended SAO against the sexism charge, but I do have to admit the fanservice has become annoying. Not so much that they have it (the shower scene for me was fine), but rather with how desperate-seeming it has become. It is as if the director has instructions to have 10 such scenes per episode and they are just jamming them in where they can. That is a pure AOL development, and one that has grown with each episode. Nah the fanservice complaints existed way before the sexist issues.The only real fanservice we had in SAO arc was Silica and Asuna in their underwear.2 scenes in 14 eps.If I hadnt start coming in the forums in since ep7,I wouldnt have notice the ass shots...Now I see that they even put more effort in these scenes than the actual story. @Candor This post is a reply to your post too now that I saw it. And no, 1 boob grab in 14 eps isnt even OMG fanservice no comment on Silicaxtentacle.One tentacle touching a characters cheek isnt categorized as fanservice for me. Might as well call Sugou touching Asuna's hair as fanservice,Sugou jokes aside. |

| Episode 21 had Asuna in a scene where she was restricted by tentacle monsters, everything else I was pretty alright with but that went a little too far for a good anime like SAO, for a second there I thought I was going to be watching hentai. |

It wouldnt be a problem if they had put the same effort in everything else.The tentalces scene was in the LN but they didnt need to put most of their money to that scene and the scene where kirito takes Lyfa's sword.In the LN Kirito asked her to borrow it and she said yes.She wasnt touching herself all over to find it. |
