It's just another way of earning money cause apparently it's popular when there's a girl with giant unrealistic breasts and you can see her pantyshots every 3 minutes in anime. But what I really can't stand is as mentioned above when the girl is portrayed as useless and clueless, only good enough to show off her body or girls who are doing nothing but that. And such characters are really annoying. So instead of being offended I think it's rather pathetic. |

| Not really, fanservice is everywhere and if I were to get offended every time a fanservice scene happen, then I might as well just stop watching tv and start reading some encyclopedia and listen to radio to avoid fanservice. But I do get offended sometimes with oversized breast that is twice bigger than my head. But since I'm a guy maybe my input is unnecessary in this matter. |

| Honestly, the thread replies in general seem more offensive than anything I've seen in anime since they involve actual human beings. People shouldn't generalize so much on one end, while on the other, people shouldn't project their morals onto others about sexuality. There is nothing wrong about sex, there is nothing wrong with a show utilizing sex related content, and there is nothing wrong with a person liking a show that utilizes sex related content. |

| Offended, no. Irritated, yes. I'm more so irritated by the abundance of it rather than the fanservice itself. It's unnecessary a lot of the time and occasionally even takes away from what's actually going on. I'm bi and have enjoyed fanservice a few times before, but all those times were instances where the fanservice made sense as to why it was happening and the character involved didn't exist only to be something to ogle at. |

Believe me, there are a lot of things out there that do offend me, cartoon asses is not one of them. It's not a harem or ecchi but it does have fan service but it doesn't go overboard with it. High School DxD is harem/ecchi but it's also has a good plot it does have a lot of boobage that could show at any given time, but it doesn't just focus on that. It has a lot of action. Now Love Love?, an anime I just watched for the Anime Challenge, had enough boobs and butts to raise the Titanic and sink it once again. Too much. I don't know where I was going with those examples. I wanted to sound like I knew what I was talking about. |

| My cousin (30 year old woman) got super offended when she saw me reading shokugeki no soma during winter break. And the funny thing was it wasn't even one of the classic "foodgasm" scenes. She just saw a judge with big tits and started complaining about how she "doesn't like anime because they always make the girls look like stupid bimbos" and went on a rant about anime watchers being deviant perverts in front of my family in a small living room. Pissed me off . I just reply not all female anime characters are drawn with big tits and she should never generalize an entire audience of anime watchers to be some fucking perverts off of some dumb ass hearsay she came across somewhere . She blew me off but I didn't think it was worth persuing after that, stuck in her ways I don't have the patience or energy to go on long arguement with her. Thankfully most people I approach just take it light heartedly, we alt least all my friends that are girls who are anime fans take that perspective. Usually you only have trouble where you come across some girl who knows almost nothing about anime and takes a boob shot/groping scene out of context and immediate typcasts you and other anime fans. | For me, it's kind of simple: Disproportional body measurements get on my nerves, for both girls and boys. It's irritating me when the anime gives a ton of assshots, and moving boobs, and grosslooking musclefreaks. I don't have anything against a sexy concept though, but if you do it, make it tasteful! Let the characters consciously decide how much they want to show off their body. One of my favorite "sexiest" female characters is Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop. She knows how to use her sex appeal to her advantage. EDIT: Even if the fanservice is there, I can still watch the anime as long it is not overdone. I'm not gonna drop something b/c of that. Imao, Shokugeki no Soma is honestly a pleasure for me to read XD |

| To be honest, in my case, it's really hard to tell. It doesn't necessarily offend me, I'm a very open-minded person. More than anything, harem and ecchi at this point really really bores me. Oversexualized females is not even a topic for me anymore. The typical scenes of a guy falling on top of a girl, or the guy entering a room where a girl is naked... that's awfully repetitive and overly used in every single harem/ecchi show ever made. How is that any good? Where's the quality? Even so, I still try at least one ecchi/harem show per season. LN adaptations. There's decent stuff every once in a while. Like Shimoneta.
