I thought it royally sucked. It was pretty much all about how wonderful Japan and the Japanese are. That's all the main character kept mouthing off about, that's all. The story and characters were just plain terrible. The art wasn't very good either, especially comparing it to Berserk.
Biggest beef with it, though, has to be the character Azuma. This was a nonstop Japan is wonderful parade and yet the guy looked like Jesus. WTF?

Ahahahahahahaha oh wow.
So deliciously fascist, they even let the symbol for peace to willingly give everything over to the incarantion of nationalism and violence, can it be more obvious? But unlike some iconic fascist propaganda, there's not even anything good with the presentation. It's all terrible.
How could this guy have written Sanctuary? It defies everything.

The man behind Berserk and the writer of Sanctuary teaming up must = masterpiece, right?
Nope. A bunch of xenophobic right wing ranting sand the worst examples of Japenese insecurities wrapped around an awful contrived fantasy setting. Really poor and overall disappointing.
