| Yuki from Tsuritama. When the anime first started, he couldn't even introduce himself properly with out wigging out and making everyone think he was mad at something. (He pretty much had a monster face lol) He was my least favorite character and he grew past that and became one of my favorites. |

| Oscar Francois de Jarjayes from Rose of Versailles. Through the course the series, Oscar gets enough development to fill the Grand Canyon. She matures into such a loving person, that you can't help but become attached to her. Defiantly the best portrayal of strong females in any anime. As Hans Axel von Fersen said, she is more manly then a man. |
| I agree with Suzaku from Code Geass. I hated his guts but he really did change throughout the series with all the shit that happened to him. I'd like to add Emiya Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero too. He didn't develop in the series but you got plenty of backstory (my favourite two episodes actually) on how he was forced to change into who he is and I felt I could really understand him as a person and why he did those things. |

| Since Shinji and Rei have been represented, I'll go and throw in Asuka Langley Soryu and Misato Katsuragi from NGE as well. Because I truly do believe all four main characters were wonderfully developed. Recently Kotomine Kirei from Fate/Zero made an impression as he (d?)evolved from a Priest who didn't know what he really wanted into a man who enjoyed watching others suffer. Emiya Kiritsugu, though he didn't necessarily evolve in the main story, went through two episodes of intense development. Yang Wenli, Reinhard Von Lohengramm, and Oskar Von Reuenthal ( Legend of the Galactic Heroes) Heinrich Lunge and Wolfgang Grimmer (Monster) Himemiya Anthy (Revolutionary Girl Utena) Guts (Berserk) Miyazawa Yukino (Kare Kano) Yuki Nagato and Kyon (Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya) Nakajima Youko (Juuni Kokuki) All five main characters from Honey and Clover I've probably missed some. |

| Hmmm those kids from crest of the stars had a pretty good run over 3 seasons. For just 2 episodes (1 really... just from 2 different perspectives) tokyo marble chocolate brought out some marvellous character development as well. |
