Accel World Episode 8 Discussion

So far not bad, the episode was very nice in element intros and new characters along with a fresh new plot. I liked Chiyu's teasing slutty expression in the spoiler She made one so perfect in front of Taku that it was amazingly funny/enticing.

About the fan service, while it was not bad we get BONUS HIME whom is shown also in the bath in the spoiler Apart from the censoring Hime's Neuro Linker has a butterfly symbol on it. Rather interesting.

Nothing special with the loli on that end. She stays toweled but Haruyuki got a taste of her DFC in the spoiler until she goes yandere on him easily.

About the beginning, I was very surprised but more shocked that the avatar can have real blood in the spoiler just like IRL. Rather insane IMO. The gun itself here looks like a mega Monty Python 357 version. Whom I assume Haruyuki practices on due to his lost last fight and a weakness he wants to patch up with speed. As such I believe it has to do with the following spoiler that Linker was most likely a Sniper type and suffice to say that he shot Haruyuki’s wings out! Thus I think it was a 3 people TAG team battle royal! It was obvious with Hime there and 2 of her tops there with her. However I was really enticed by the new players in the spoiler they looks promising. The blue person less but that other one with big breasts, wings on her head and that Chain/Ax weapon was nice. Fresh new elements.

Once easily see that Haruyki is really in distress of his weakness in the spoiler he tries hard with the gun and misses out. Only frustrating in thee end. Chiyu knew he was there from here and really cool of her to peek on Haruyuki as to see if he is fine. Whom is not but there is no need in stressing out with Burst Link Chiyu out. Hence she knows nothing about it. It looked also like Haruyuki is puking in the toilet at one of those shots in the spoiler. Disturbing a little to see him rush like that.

About Haruyuki meeting the loli, it was a nice start of that segment. Starting out with the school and a strong title of temptation. Which reminds me of how an amazing job Nisemonogatari Vol 2 did with Shinobu in terms of sexual enticement. A rather short nice conversation occurs in the spoiler and certainly just that conversation is a nice light. Since that gang is together and not separate since last episode. Taku owns a lot to Hime for doing this for him despite being partially at fault. Let’s make three parts of how it was handled that meeting, which leads to a full fight after.

A) The initial point of meeting in the spoiler was at first done really well. Once can see that Haruyuki is thinking deep in terms of the previous conversation and that 3 way TAG team fight. One the nicest things about Scarlet Rain is her smile and kindness while being really a possible Poker face. Clearly her apron shows her hospitality. However I did like the teasing Haruyuki did on her. With her face and all. Once can also see she is good at making pastries.

B) Once the eating comes around Scarlet Rain’s face in the spoiler just got OVER 9000 MOE OMG! Those smiles are so appealing. One can see the effort in that with those eyes and face along with coloring and setup it shows. Haruyuki looks very hungry and eat but I am more wondering if there is something under in the spoiler one can wonder why there was no sign of panties. It could easily been shown if there was so I assume she has no panties and likes that style? Well not sure but it sure suggests it.

C) FINALLY THE BATH PART! HA! Well what’s really nice of it is seeing Scarlet Rain’s true face and nature in the spoiler while at first giving out a nice shy personality with uncertain of its DFC being pleasant to Haruyuki, it quickly became NIGHTMARE to bear with her angered face. I swear the way that loli goes with that towel on the bath, Haruyuki is lucky to have such a easy access view to her privates it’s amazing but we all know he likes Hime. Let’s hope no cheating is involved. Thus comes my favorite part in the spoiler

that is the loli slipping and Haruyuki in fact getting a feel of her DFC breasts. However it’s the following,

That I really appreciated along with the shocked face of the loli in the spoiler WOW! Now that was some comedy alright there.

About before the fight, well it tends out that Scarlet Rain IS NOT GOING TO TAKE SHIT! It was obvious from the spoiler the little red thing around her neck is a Neuro Linker and she did not have it before. In fact I think she baths without it. I still liked her night gown there. Looks all silky with frills around.

About the fight, well I liked a lot the intro of Scarlet Rain in the spoiler it suits her well with a little chest and that suit. She looks cute but dangerous. Haruyuki’s expression shows that obviously of his surprise in regards to that. Then comes my OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT in the spoiler MACROSS FORTRESS! That’s the best reference to it less someone has something else. One can see a Mega Red Base here. With cannons and turrets. Fortress! The fact that the loli does become insane in the spoiler and that she is the sole operator is scary to think of such a big contraception being operated by such a small loli. It reminds that despite being kids they are as dangerous as adults may be referring to Jorgumand a little there.

Let’s do that the ABCs of the base itself, rather shown well in this episode.

A)It has anti-personal flame thrower in the spoiler thus I assume it can flame anything around it whom its systems cannot target due to being close. A rather smart thing already to have. Once it activates that I assume the 1000s of Celsius will burn and SAP your energy bar.

B)It has A MEGA BEAM CANNON in the spoiler whom can make a hole like Swiss cheese has in Skyscraper. Rather scary and fearful. One shot can get rid of one shit any Linker in it. That’s sick! So unfair in the game to have! TOTALLY UNFAIR! That fortress is too much.

C)Oh! But it’s not over. Get this! It has Macro missiles in the spoiler whom Haruyuki dodging was my favorite part in all the episode. I just love seeing objects race against something that will kill it upon impact. It applies to many things but it was so COOL! Those missiles and SFX along with the BGM as well as the explosions. WOW! Nothing more to say to that.

So one can see that base is pretty INSANE in one word. Moreover it’s not over after all this. Comes to worse the loli can get out and target you with a gun in the spoiler FUUUUUUUU! Just when you think you got her she can shoot you in the head! Fuuuuuu again. Too crazy IMO. Moreover her expressions don’t help anything. She is insane and loses it when she gets excited.

About Haruyuki and Hime. Very nice part after all the shit he went in that fight. Good thing it resolved fine. Hime’s expressions in the spoiler were fine and MOE! Nice and soothing. Haruyuki was being more of an airhead there but that’s his nature. The most and I WANT MY GIF of that is in the spoiler

the holding hands of Hime and taking her hand is so HNNNNNNNNNGHHHHHHHHHH it’s too much.

About thee end of the episode, the following,

That’s what I am talking about! THAT’S IT! The crazy new plot shit coming up! Seeing that shit tear up people and the loli seeing it in the spoiler while thinking about it seems to suggest she needs help to stop this beast. I wonder if it’s some kid on drugs. This is not normal at all. The thing just cannibalizes the others and eats then up. If it was IRL that’s exactly what it would be. Think of Blood-C in Accel World. Well DO NOT WANT! Get rid of this shit NOW! Before it becomes a bigger shit to deal with.

About the preview, 2 things I am looking forward to. 1. Is Hime with the loli in the spoiler looks to me like a Poker face teasing on both sides. Both sides seem to have this personality and it will be interesting to see Hime’s reactions to her. While Taku’s going to be in the picture along with I want to know WTF is Haruyuki doing there. Finally the monster fight in the spoiler THAT! NOW THAT! I want to see in terms of the shit being dead or have its program uninstalled. Less it’s a virus doing that to a user. Then save that person please!

Then ponytail girl (Rina Hidaka?!) appearing as his younger sister? lol @ "OreImo" reference from Haru. It was just his cousin and he has to take care of her when his mother is in Shanghai. And she doesn't like gaming and neurolinker. Then he realized that she's fake. Scarlet Lane? 2nd King of Red came to challenge him. At least he's somewhat calm about how to battle her, but he lost to her and wants him to arrange a meeting with Kuroyukihime for her. So she's strong for being not moving. Kuroyukihime remembering 1st King of Red, and then Haru said he will not battle against her.

That's one funny battle.

Scarlet Rain is here(seiyuu who?). Quite a difference from her true age and how she really thinks and act. Says something about being a Burst Linker and spending that much time in the other world, being able to reach level 9 and all.
The battle was a bit of a letdown. It was thrilling in the novels. Didn't quite feel how strong a King should be. That heat blast should have obliterated a large area far away. And did she really just move by 50cm?
First mention of Red Rider, the first Red King.
And fuck yeah, CD in the end. We'll hear more of that monster next time.

I just love it when a character shifts their personality 180 degrees. Namely Scarlet Rain.

Guess the pun it intended to promote the S2 of that.Yeah that is one heck of AMAZING! In short. Especially on a loli. So much more innocent = to much more surprise of her personality shift. Hence why it's good on them.

Scarlet Rain's Accel avatar looks pretty much like her true self... does that mean she doesn't have any insecurities?

BTW, I think Haru is a lolicon... back when he dreamed about Chiyu and Kuroyuki he said it was a nightmare, but right there on the bath he started fantasizing about the loli, if I read the scene correctly...

It seems like Hime wants to raise Haru to be a level 9 so he can defeat her and become the first level 10, or least thats what i got out of it with her reaction to not fighting each other.

Haruyuki is perverted harem person and I like the fact Hime always scares the crap out of him on that one. Problem still remains they are are not 24/7 cause if they would Hime would not allow this guy to cheat. She is very assertive person IMO.

Changes in the op are great! They added the glasses for Taku and took some clothes of Kuroyukihime... changes are beautiful :D
I am surprised how this show kept all of its good traits up to this episode! The real life conspiracies still have the detective feel, Haru kept his guard up again, that was really cool. Plus, it's all still very emotional in a very good way. Of course a beauty like Hime has a sour love story in her background... And Haru took the initiative with her - grabbed her hand and talked honestly about his feelings - for maybe the first time. Plus in the same time, new battle tactics are developing... I just cant get enough of this show!
The only bad thing about it is that the protagonist is gaining levels too fast, we are getting clother to the end. I would have loved to see hundreds of episodes of this, but I guess that's not going to happen...

Great episode. The 180-degree change in expression of Scarlet Rain is priceless. :D Not much Kuroyukihime though until next episode. She is already annoyed hearing about Scarlet Rain, can't wait till she meet her (or how they animate it). :D Can't wait for next week!

Thing is, Haru is already level 4 now. I know they're following the novel, but somehow I kinda wish they put a filler episode here, showing one or two of his battles together with Cyan Pile and Black Lotus, in full, not just some scenes.

Red King the bipolar loli was pretty cool. And it's nice to see that Haru is actually improving at a reasonable rate, both in the Burst Link game and in his relationships with other people (namely when he supported Kuroyukihime emotionally)

That new enemy seems like a complete badass. Judging from the OP and from shounen plotlines, Haru will probably figure out a way to skydivebomb it. Hope to see more of it.

I'm guessing you're watching hadena's fansub. That was a mistranslation. He said "saitei da." He felt that he's the worst/most horrible person to be dreaming about doing stuff with those two. Doesn't mean it's a "nightmare." ;-)

i enjoyed this episode alot mainly because of Scarlet Rains fortress form and the failed super Falcon kick lol.

Good episode,so the Loli result to be the red "king", i really dont expect that.

She was kinda cute at the beginning making cookies and even a bath together!!...and then everyone became nightmare!! Another crazy women!! her change to her real face was funny!!

The fight between them was not bad had its moments but she really is powerful...also FALCON KICK V2!


i have the feeling that she may be like she may know the first red king maybe his real brother??

But well seems next episode they fight a monster!! Going to be fun!!

Yeah the failed Falcon Kick really was good on 2 fronts.

One the sheer art and majestic power it provides while being done. And the other going with the first one completely making it fail hence total shock for those who expected it to work and the laughter for the irony. It's a setup that worked rather well TBH.

Now it's like shiiiiiiiiiiit that fortress it too much. Well My 3 points most likely say that it's insane indeed.

This show has potential to be good but the script writers are aweful. Maybe it's just the subs idk. Also everything in the show happens too conveniently.

Well, the script is per the light novel, so this is actually pretty faithful to the source. I do agree that it feels a bit "too quick" in anime format. It probably would've been better if they did a filler episode here, let's say, showing a battle of silver crow+cyan pile+black lotus combo, a full fight (instead of just a couple of scenes). Oh well.
And I'm sure we'll see Ash Roller again. ;-)

I'm actually surprised that they did Haru's virtual training scene fairly bloody. I expected them to tone it down, especially on the last part.

Hello im new as member, but old web user. I just register to ask this question: Who is the SCARLET QUEEN seiyuu?. Dunno if is just me, but scarlet queen reminds me kallen of Code Geass..

tsubasalover was right and it is indeed Rina Hidaka.. anyway, i wonder what it takes to succeed and be the next king of a color.. first to reach level 9? she doesn't seem to be someone who's related with the previous Red Rider.. she seems to want to meet Black Lotus not for revenge but to cooperate for a significant threat in the game.. that berserk black avatar thingie that eats everyone..

The yandere is strong in this one. What's with all the deres lately.

At first the episode was all HNNG and then it was all WOAH and then it was all AW YEAH.

Yeah that was great and also I like the Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai reference.
The next episode looks cool.

This is all new stuff for me since they caught up with the manga scanlations and it was great, Red King makes his appearance and on top of that it's a little girl with a huge ass battle avatar that can annihilate cities, awesome.

Kuroyuki was seriously pissed, too bad she held it in but Haru acted nice even though I hated his way of thinking again in this episode.

Is Scarlet Rain really Level 9? I assume/hope Kuroyuki is stronger but just how badass is she then when Scarlet Rain is already beast.

Scarlet was so cute. And the fight scene was great. I wonder why she wants to meet Black Lotus. Looking forward to next episode.

Accel World is getting better and better with every passing week. Let's try a new review style.

- Haru having that special patch training was a good start. Trying to evade bullets? Creative way to train one's speed although it was probably ridiculously painful to get hit by those bullets. Way to go, little porky.
- That scene was followed by some information regarding territories and the different Legions fighting over them. Interesting, interesting.
- And there she is- the yandere girl who stole the whole freakin' episode. The scenes where she showed her cute side were hilarious. Of course it took Haru only a few minutes to finally understand whom he's really talking to and the subsequent reveal of Scarlet Rain's real personality was inevitable. We got a nice glimpse of her power and her Immobile Fortress so that alone would make for a solid episode.
- But we even got a few HaruxKuroyukihime moments and even more information regarding the first red king (Red Rider iirc) and what seems to be a remorseful Black Lotus.
- As it's usual for Accel World, this episode too ended with an intriguing cliffhanger. Who might that black beast be? Maybe the one seen in the opening? Who knows? I for sure am curious to know but I can wait since we're not even halfway through. All in all 5/5

Next week Black Lotus and Scarlet Rain meet. Needless to say that I can't possibly wait for it.
