Basement Books - $7 each clearance stock. They reduced it to 5 for $10 later down the track, but they were all manhandled pretty badly by then...

My Public Library DOES have manga.

My first manga was Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy vol.1 that I bought at Barnes and Noble. Not quite traditional manga, but after reading that I was hooked!

I bought my first manga from Borders, I think, and as I was young and easily embarassed (it was Gravitation, for Christ's sake - *shame*) I had to buy another book which was a bit more 'respectable' and put it on top. :D

My first, first manga I downloaded from the sadly now-defunct Sakura Crisis scanlation group.

I bought mine at a Times bookstore. I was attracted to the flashy cover, which I thought was rather pretty then. It was my first manga too - Tokyo Mew Mew. Though my taste in the kind of manga I read has changed drastically as compared to then.
