THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

The power of poetry...

Where did they go to on that boat?

Next episode seems to be another introduction, but at least Nobunaga seems to be becoming more prominent again.

Man, that stupid old woman ought to be thankful to Basho's contribution for her cafe's uplift.

Better then the other eps since i was able to watch it w/o wanting to gauge me eyes out due to boredom, but it's still not as good as it should be. And the whole "i'll never play the piano again" part has been used so many times in anime/manga lol.

I liked how Basho talked in poems (haiku, to be exact).

I guess my favorite of the sengoku leaders. Unfortunately Im not skilled to count five-seven-five in JPN with the english crunchyroll subs so, but I think it was a unique concept to have if she was actually speaking that way 95% of the time. But that was cool how the shop leveled up and
. Decent.

That's the episode I enjoyed the most for this serie as for now.
There's like 2-3 girl to present and then I guess we'll be able to move to the real story... or we'll get a new op with a new set of girl in it and it'll stay at the same pace.

Meh, this is the first time I dislike this one.

poet goes messed cafe/hotel who later with help of people of cafe/hotel clean refresh place & also got owner lady defrost & be ok.

oh Nobunaga cameo showing give i guess make-up give was not in last ep also notice 3 miko we're not in during random doing cameo in this ep.

i guess oh well next ep Nobunaga & some female person with big white WHAT?

Is the VA for Matsuo Bashou, Mai Nakahara again? She sounds like Nagisa from Strawberry Panic and the MAL characters doesnt list any VA.

I think at least one more, and then we might see some plot development.

Fun cute girls
blossoming into beautiful cherry blossoms
gently reaching ground

I don't care about the Nobunaga plot to be perfectly honest

I'm having waaay more fun with watching the lives of the girls and stuff. Too bad it's going to have to go to its plot later on.

Also, No shrine trio this episode? interesting...

Loved it. Third fav episode after Masamune & Kenshin.
About 1 or 2 intros left and then off to story. Took a while.

No kidding; I haven't done one since high school.

But thanks for the comment. Really appreciate it.

Well I didn't meant to insult you in anyway, I just don't want this guy to take that as an exemple of what is a Haiku.

Well, a ok episode.
Not the best one, but the ending like usually was good.

Ok, now we have, according to the opening:

There's a blonde school girl, but I think is the same as the girl in the next episode... because of the thing in her hair.

But, I'll not complain anymore because at least Nobunaga is back.
(I love that girl ^^)

Now I miss Kanetsugu... she was so adorable, and such a nice VA.

Is there another anime with so much introductions?

This is the first time I've seen something like that...
I mean, we are in episode 7, each ep with a different protagonist.

I didn't like this episode until about halfway through, and by the end, I was satisfied. One of the better intro episodes. My expectations for this anime are pretty much nonexistent, so it was better than I thought it would be.

Well, this episode was much better than the others. Hell, if this cast was the main cast of a different series, it could've made a decent show. Everything was great, until Nobunaga appeared...

Then I'm not the only one who thinks that the Nobunaga plot isn't really important?

Well, I DO want to see more of the shrine girls, so I guess that's not completely true

EDIT
those shrine girls are probably just setting Nobunaga up to give them some sort of weapon anyway.

Basho is so cute and nice. Not a bad ep.

Finally Nobunaga appears again, sure has been a while. Wonder what they talked about or did on that boat. Hmm next episode is Hideyoshi, so I am guessing Nobunaga is going to appear in the ep a lot and maybe Hideyoshi will join her journey.

Haiku girl Basho (8) (Ha i ku / ga-ru / ba sho)
Saves drab cafe and its crew (17) (Se-bu / du ra bu / ka-fe / *not sure how to spell 'and' but it's worth 3 for sure* / i tsu / ku ru- )
Decent episode (8) (de se n to / e pi so do)

Also Haiku usually have two clear ideas with a word cutting through them, your attempt has three idea, one on each line. (Haiku, her action of saving, the episode)
Your 'haiku' also lack a seasonal reference
Haiku aren't composed from 5-7-5 syllables but rather from 5-7-5 "on" which is different from your usual english syllable.

Now you could make some other kind of poetry and it could be worth as much as an haiku but I was just saying that this isn't an haiku no matter how you look at it.

Kudos to the creators, I think they have done an outstanding job with the pacing. A lot was squeezed into these 24 minutes but it wasn't rushed at all, quite the relaxing episode. 4/5.

Actually, this would be almost accurate for a Japanese haiku (though applying "on" (or morae) to English language seems silly to me). "Haiku girl Basho" pronounced in Japanese would be 7 morae, not 5. But it also wouldn't be 8, so he is still wrong. If a Japanese person were trying to pronounce this in a Japanese dialect, it would be a bad haiku. In correct English, though, it would still be passable.

Basho speaking in Haiku pattern speech is interesting and unique. Haiku is like making lyrics in song so it may be difficult for me though.

Not a bad episode.
