THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Jenny wants the Bentemaru to kidnap her so she doesn't have to marry a politician, a move by her uncle, head of Hugh and Dolittle transport company, to get her out of the picture so he can control the company. Jenny ends up having to escape and gets to the Bentemaru where she reunites with Lynn (they're in a relationship, it turns out). Marika decides to take her to the Space University where she'll be safe even though it might cost her the pirating license. She gets Show to agree and now they're in a race with the Hugh and Dolittle company fleet.

Jenny and Lynn confirmed canon couple. They even kissed, twice!!! I couldn't be more happy.

Well, I hope they can escape without much trouble, but going by the preview is seems things are going tol get rocky.

I loled when they kissed. Wasn't romance eliminated? XD
Oh well, cute anyways.

Nice episode! The Bentenmaru will really benefit if they pull this off. :D

EDIT: Rewatching and I still grin over that kiss.
It's just the way it's done. Doesn't feel like fanservice overload. Pretty natural in comparison to other shows that put in yuri for fanservice. And it's between the two cool bosses of the yacht club, not flirtatious, moe, perverts or whatnot. :P (Generalizing.) I loved Jenny and Lynn already, and I think they work perfectly as a couple. :D

And wow, just how much does the Hugh and Dolittle Company earn if Jenny's small company earns about fifty trillion...? o.o

Hot damn! Lynne and Jenny!

Strawberry Panic 2: The space adventures.

I like how half the girls were having Fujoshi orgasms during the scene. Especially the one blonde girl, who looked like she had already wet herself in delight.

LOL, i can already imagine the Doujishi that are being created as we post.

In all seriousness they look like a great couple. With all the characters involved in the show you had to think that someone was romantically involved. My initial guess was the first officer/medical woman and helmsman.

I like how shit is getting serious for the crew. Jenny is actually on the rebellious side of a corporate power struggle and needs help to escape and counter her mean power hungry uncle.

Chiaka seems to be wavering and might pull something soon. Something tells me the real crew will have to get involved soon as well. Maybe even Marika's mother too.

it'll be fun to watch it play out. Though the story still lacks a sense of REAL danger, It still has a charm to it that I enjoy.

I really loled when Lynn and Jenny kissed... and in that outfit, too! That fit perfectly.

And wow, looks like shit gets real. Lets see how marika and her ragtag crew of schoolgirls manages this =) I'm fired up

I want Rambo in a mecha-suit with a laser-chainsaw gun that fires nuclear warheads, fighting the love-child of Predator, Alien, a group of Bangladeshi terrorists, and Satan. (Actually that would be a pretty sick show) - StopDropAndBowl

Hahaha, when Jenny was running to the command room and Lynn showed up, I had some random thought about a princess meeting a prince, and then they suddenly kissed. "EHHHHH!!???" and some laughter after that pretty much sums up my reaction.

The LN is yuri and that kiss was beautiful

Lynn and Jenny belong together and married if possible. Jenny is quite the elegant lady with excellent moves and the way she concealed her gun.

Her uncle is garbage though getting rid of her for control of the company, he needs to go down

More like Sailor Moon! XD We have the blonde princesses with the odango hairstyle and go by the name Serenity (Usagi's Princess/Past-life/Future name is/will be Princess Serenity/Neo-Queen Serenity); The tsundere with a traditional Japanese appearance, Rei/Sailor Mars, and now we have the androgynous Haruka/Sailor Uranus and the elegant, sophisticated badass, Michiru/Sailor Neptune XD

-------

The moment after Lynn said she wanted to kidnap Jenny in the last episode, I figured Jenny was going to be married, and the two were in a relationship, LOL.

Ha! I knew it. There were definitely some romantic vibes between those two. Nice to see that this anime wouldn't shy away from such things.

Uh? Maybe I misunderstood, but I was under the impression that those two were already married (to each other of course.)

Man, after that announcement about there being no romance in the anime, the kiss scene took me completely off guard. And it was awesome. <3

Oh and Chiaki, why are you blushing so?

I wasnt ready. That
was uninteresting. Low moment. Otherwise the rest of the episode was pretty cool. These 17 episodes make me feel like weve really grown with Marika to see her develop into a great captain and I kind of wish it was a longer anime. I wonder when the crew will get back in action?

Sato Tatsuo is a huge liar! XD

Anyway, usually I really dislike shoujo or shounen-ai but since they are not the main couple, I will ignore it. I was just way too shocked! Totally unexpected (the kiss)!

Now things get more interesting! :D

D-DAT YURI KISS! 0_o;

Totally did not expect that.

I had the same reaction as the girls. And if that wasn't enough, they kiss again!

Wow! Just...wow!

I know I did not have time to be with the many that watch this series but so far it’s been an amazing blast. In 3 words FUN! EXCITING! SURPRISING! Indeed if not last episode for Sasha looking for some Yuri with that black dress that is silk and most likely nothing underneath targeting Yayoi there is Lynn x Jenny in the following,

Exclusive GIFs show the obvious with a dual kissing. Sealing finally the start of Yuri in this series whom many hoped. I cannot share that same smile with you all that FINALLY WE HAVE OUR YURI! Straight yelling out. Well finally love is in the air and the happy reunion was great.

Other than that as exciting as things were Jenny looking marvelous with that wedding dress. She reminded me of her escape that Leia did in Star Wars with her blaster. Regardless of that the end and chase was poignant. So far with this I am very happy of the action and space element. I shall leave it at that with might edit later.

Bigger versions of GIFs in the BLOG:

I might do more if I have time.

great episode! i never thought i'd see girl on girl action in what, up until now, had been a fairly innocent show (although i always thought lynn's character might have some yuri in her)...mouretsu pirates continues to impress me with it's consistency of fun, adventure, and friendship...

The kissing scene was unexpected indeed and with the way they where dressed it looked like a scene from a fairy tale.
Chiaki's reaction to that kissing scene was also nice, she can be surpassingly cute at times.

Marika's way of business was also pretty interesting since you normally do that kind of thing in a private room and not in front of everyone.
Jenny's uncle's way of business is pretty harsh even going as far as marrying of your niece to prevent her from taking over the company.
I feel sorry for Jenny hopefully her plan will succeed.

They didn't hesitate to kiss at all in front of everyone...
The reactions of the girls were nice to see. Both Chiaki and the Princess, who are always anxious about Marika, got to know there are many forms of love.
Well, come to think of it, as to Marika, Chiaki, and the princess, they don't seem to be interested in boys...

It's nice to see that homosexuality seems to be socially accepted at this time... at least among the girld that were onboard the ship.

Overall, a great episode and I liked how politics played such a big part in this. Once again it shows how dependent piratery is from insurance companies and how they have to relay on tactics to keep their business going.

So after physical and electronic warfare we now have business warfare as well. Nice :-) And Marika apparently shines in that area, too.

Let's just say "lesbian homosexuality", which is already pretty popular (hence it's appearance in this show ^^). Granted girls usually aren't as scared of gays as guys are, so the Bentanmaru's crew is likely to be fine with anything ;-)

I'd like to add that the occurrence of unlikely stuff doesn't imply fate, and that people meeting in this universe is everything but unlikely because humans are bound to flock together at planets and space stations to... um... survive :-P It's not like people are evenly spread across the vastness of space. And it doesn't help the argument that a big part of the cast is important people who also travel a lot. But apart from that intro this episode was a nice one :-)

I work for a large company in downtown Columbus Ohio. The company encourages socializing/community involvement and among the many company sponsored clubs is a gay club. Several people I've worked with were gay and though they didn't go out of their way to talk about it they didn't hide it either. I've met one of the guy's "significant other" several times at social events. Columbus has an annual Gay Pride parade around the end of June or early July. For the most part, it's simply just not a big deal around here.

Contrast this with how I recall things in the early 1980s. The first guy I met who was openly gay was while I was in college, it was around 1982 when I met him. People simply avoided him and "talked" about him. I made friends with him and we'd occasionally hang out and watch MTV in the lobby and stuff on boring Sunday afternoons, but he had a serious heart condition and eventually dropped out because it was getting worse - I lost track of him after that. As far as I could tell, I was the only person who would talk to him.

(shrug) I guess what I'm getting at is when two anime characters of the same gender start a relationship I just don't see it as anything different as when two characters of the more 'traditional' gender mix start a relationship. It's not my lifestyle, but I also don't see it as anything to get worked up about either.

I haven't had too much interest in this series, but hadn't really considered dropping it either. Last episode disappointed me a bit, but this episode more than made up for it.

End of last episode hinted at this pretty hard, but I thought for sure that they would someone mess it up or go in some other direction. Loved this episode.

Well my take on the whole Yuri thing in this show is that most people blatant forgot that most of these types of shows because of Male's destructive ways and violence they have dropped down. This being said, its natural artificial ways to make kids and more Yuri happens.

Why 2 girls with that flower in the Ghost Ship can make a kid. Artificial insemination has gone a long way and being able to select make it the more so. People should know in time males will dwindle to smaller numbers and more girls will be available. This is so true of the amount in the Academy.

Finally point is male's destructive ways will end up killing and reducing its numbers resulting in more love with girls x girls.

Homosexuality amongst woman is generally more exerted then homosexuality amongst men.
It's similar to how girls are excepted when they dress manly while guys wearing feminine clothing are a taboo.
There is also a big difference per country and culture whether homosexuality is excepted or not.
I don't know the reason behind it but some things are more easily excepted from one gender then the other even tho there the same thing.

It's great how it can do an "everyone united in spirit against a dastardly enemy" story without seeming cliched or making the dastardly enemy into the cool faction that you support. All that investment in world-building and near-plausibility paying off, methinks.

Anyways, if Satou was trolling about romance in Pirates, does that mean Lagrange might end up getting some yuri goodness too?

So that why she cosplayed as a Prince. It was a plan for the yuri.

Finally after quite some boring episodes we get some little tension and excitement. Hope they keep the rhythm until the end.

MAL rating...? Pfft.. like it has ever meant anything.
That said though, this show has been steadily going downhill (as much as I hate to admit it).
Even though the beginning was excellent (eps. 1-7).

Possible scenarios of males being less around and more girls therefore yuri.

It already has with groping, sleeping together and other minor elements. Kissing is only missing.

Same, I thought that the beginning was great and then... the plot started to slide, an ep or two even seemed like filler material. But I'm sticking with it since we're 2/3 way through and it's interesting enough to not drop plus I like the EDs and we're probably into the final anime arc. Probably. Besides, there are pirate anime, space anime, but not space pirate anime, now we get to see some laser beam fights in space instead of on earth and that technology! Look at all the computer panels and futuristic equipment, it's nothing new but hey there's even some fun cyber warfare.

@HammersFan10 If you care about MAL rating then watch just mainstream anime or overrated ones. At episode 17 you're still watching something you don't want to? :\ I would've dropped it by now.
