| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Strong Tarou Gross! All those layer of "supposed" fat were dirt clinging to their bodies?!! Eckkk! And Tarou's made of all that filth! O_o I don't get the moral of this story, be lazy and turn fat? XD The Village of the Nightingales At least he got out alive and whole, encounter with the supernatural always messes with your body or your sanity. Hirabayashi This was the funniest of the three in this episode because "I can't read it too"! LOL |

| The third strory was the best but overall this episode was the worst of all. Also the story about nightingales was quite creepy. |
| I love watching this series, lots of fun. Anyone who's struggled to learn kanji can identify with the last one. Each Kani can have multiple pronunciations depending on meaning/usage/compounds. Of course, its a LOT more complicated when kanji are used in names (that's why even in anime/Japan you see people ask how to pronounce a written name when it's in kanji). Not only do you have the standard pronunciations, but when used in names, people will sometimes use outdated pronunciations of the kanji or derive different pronunciations based on the kanji meaning/makeup (I kind of admire the creativity they have with their own written language). Its also fun to watch this to see points of similarity with Western lore and folktales. I still love to read Grimm and Anderson's tales. Some themes run common in those and these as well. |

| Well after six years I get back to watch his. The three stories were very funny, the animation truly make things even funnier like when she turned in a bird an said "farewell". |
