Speaking as someone who hasn't read the Manga, I thought the happy endings with all the diary owners were quite nice, but the 2nd Yuki I really just didn't like. I still give the show 8.5ish/10

10,000 years and he still mops around??? true to his character alright, Even Shinji Ikari would punch him in the face.

Aside from him wining and doing NOTHING!!! it was a good series.

Definitely a nice series; was at a loss as to why she was as crazy as she was until it was revealed. Ending was definitely bittersweet, there's something more rewarding about the implied endings than the shown. Plus the whole thing with her calling his name and the sound of a hammer smashing glass was a nice shoutout to the manga.

So everyone got a happy ending, except Yukiiteru :L

This was a great series. And the ending was pretty interesting aswell, would've never imagined it ending up like that.

Yeah, I agree.

The ending was okay, But I didn't like it vary much. :|
The fights where intense, it had some epic moments and the art was decent enough. 9/10 for me. ^ ^

Well, I can say one thing for sure about this series, I fucking hated Yuno from start to finish. No Yandere girls for me thank you very much.

I enjoyed the series a lot, but I didn't not like having to go read the last Manga chapter to see what they changed from the ending.

While I understand the studio's hesitation over whether the original ending is a good idea or not, this lame execution was probably the worst decision they could have made, as this pleases neither those who disliked the ending, nor those who wanted to see the hammer scene taking place. This drags down my score of 4 to a 3/5.

7/10 for the series. I came for Yuno and Minene, and got what I wanted. The story had more plotholes than victims, so I can't give it a higher score. I'm (mostly) satisfied with the adaptation.

Hated Yukki from start to finish. Many of the other characters were pretty stupid too and didn't act like people. The plot was a train wreck with holes all over the place. The final episodes were really, really silly. The ending didn't make any sense.
However, at times it was a fun watch. The premise with future diaries was a nice idea and Yuno was a pretty fun character to watch.

Haven't read manga and probably never will. Anime was good, full of plot holes, but I didn't mind too much, this was nice for killing some time, nothing more.
Actually, now that I think of it, I actually enjoyed most of it. Ending? Bad. Just bad.

I completely agree with everything you said. Last episodes were really awful. It could've been a better series but it failed with a loud crash.

Yes!!! This ending was *way* better than the manga one. I was worried they would follow it as they've been following the manga pretty closely. Manga ending was horrible! At least the anime ending allowed me to create my own theory and ending (by leaving out the last 10 or so pages). I like to think Yuno "died" just as Minene "died" in the vault. I mean, come on! Minene has a little of Deus' power and she was able to survive being blown up! Yuno became god! How could she die of a stab wound!?! SO, our Yuno (1st world) is the one we hear at the end!!!!

Whoever worked on this anime is not a fuking retarded. They left it ambiguous enough so that it stays true to the manga but still doesn't show the stupid hammer.

It seems a lot of people are confused or mistaken. The hammer scene still happens, it's just not shown. If you listen to the after credit scene you here "glass breaking" around the time when Yuki's cell makes its noise. You don't see the hammer scene but it is clearly happening.

To the people who say Yuki got a bad end. Watch the after credit scene again, Yuno meets him 10,000 years later.

Also the anime didn't end any different than the manga, the manga just had a tidbit at the end that was left out from the anime adaptation.

Honestly I think they should of showed it so people didn't have to read the last chapter of the manga to fully understand.

Why would you want to theorize on something like that it basically happend how you wanted it to. The manga did a good job of being clear. The first world Yuno did meet up with Yuki. The memories of third world Yuno merged with first wold Yuno. First world Murmur implanted the memories.

It was alright adaptation 7/10 overall.

I barely understood any of it because of its mind fucks but still dude it was BEAST! I don't read manga so if someone would kindly tell me why the crap everyone is so miffed about it would leave me less confused.

Basically, the manga ending was that right after anime "ending" the view goes up, from where the lgth comes out and there we see a giant Yuuno holding a hammer and breaking time-space continuum (Deus gave her the hammer btw, the time-space continuum is basically a giant sphere the 2nd world is in, or so it looks at that point). Then Deus makes them gods in 3rd world and they go watch stars together. >_> (No kidding.) Completely dumb and cliche. The anime ending was MUCH better, imo, because it gave us a slight mystery, while the manga ending was plain ridiculous.

Well, I had a lot of fun with this series at the start. I thought the craziness of the show was really fun, but boy did that wear off in the last 15 or so episodes. Some aspects of the series were just insultingly stupid, the direction was pretty bad and there were numerous plot holes, but there were still moments in the series where you could just ignore these things and enjoy the show. I think a 5/10 is a fair rating for the series as it was very fun to watch at times, but also had many detriments that brought the series down.

Goodbye Future Diary!

The series was great, spooky, nerve crunching, and weird but it was really good 4.5/5. The ending though where diary changed about Yuno meeting Yukki in the end whats that all about?

Well if by any chance they make a second season, which I highly doubt, that will be swell.

What a disappointing ending after a lot of epicness that was in this show.
I wonder what their next project will be, I 'll probably watch it.
Lowered my rating to 8/10, even though the ending sucked, I did really enjoy almost every episode of this show.

Finally, the story has finished. The plot stalled at the middle in my opinion.

Well, here is the well-known relationship between twelve prophets and Roman gods that was sung in the OP "Kuusou Mesorogiwi (imaginary mythology)" with some of my guess.

"Consentes Dei: Juno Jupiter Minerva Apollon Mars Ceres Mercurius Diana Bacchus Vulcanus Pluto Vesta Venus
---
Consentes Dii (The counsil of the deities)
The Dei Consentes were the twelve principle Roman gods.
  • 1st Jupiter (Zeus the almighty)
天野雪輝 Yukiteru Amano (snow light in the sky, Yupiteru -> Yukiteru)
  • 2nd Juno (Jupiter's jealousy wife)
我妻由乃 Yuno Gasai (I'm your wife, Juno)
  • 3rd Vulcanus (volcano)
    火山高夫 Hiyama takao (high volcano)
  • 4th Mercurius (thief)
来須圭悟 Kurusu Keigo (curius -> Kurusu, know the lucky?)
  • 5th Ceres (the godess of fertility)
豊穣礼佑 Houjou Reisuke (fertility, gratitude to the blessings of nature)
  • 6th Apollo (prophet, the godess of the spring)
    春日野椿 Kasugano Tsubaki (spring camellia)
  • 7th Mars (the god of war) and Venus (beauty)
戦場マルコ Ikusaba Maruko (battlefield, Mars -> Marko)
美神愛 Mikami Ai (beautiful goddess, love)
  • 8th Vesta (family)
上下かまど Ueshita Kamado (Uesuta -> Ueshita, cooking stove)
  • 9th Minerva (strategist)
雨流みねね Minene Uryu (Minerva -> Minene, rain flow?)
  • 10th Diana (the goddess of hunt and moon)
月島狩人 Tsukishima Karyuudo (hunter in the lunar island)
  • 11th Bacchus (alcoholic)
    John Backus (Bacchus -> Backus)
  • 12th Pluto (hell)
平坂黄泉 Hirasaka Yomotsu (the hill to the hell/Yomi)

I see they didn't show the "biscuit hammer" ending. It stopped at Yukiteru seeing his Future Diary's final entry change one last time. Well, considering how polarizing that scene was in the manga, maybe it is better that they didn't show it.
