A very cute little adventure. Aimed at kids, yes, but I don't mind that. I liked the kickass lead, and I loved his fear of cats that reminded me of the awesome Umibōzu from City Hunter. ^^ |

To be continued? There is a second part? I don't think so though. Anyway, it's was a good special, I really like when the characters are all animals! XD |

Really nicely animated (well, they did have the budget), directed and scripted short. It was very entertaining while developing interesting characters (Buta's resemblance to Toshiro Mifune in Yojimbo was uncanny) in a pretty Miyazaki-ish kind of way. Very well done. |

I really enjoyed it which I wasn't expecting from the TA, and it was really cute too. Nice little 25 minute filler. |

It would be nice if a mini-series is created from this special. That would be so awesome! because I absolutely loved this special. ^^ |

Pretty cute. For something that's supposedly created by trainees it's actually quite good. |

I don't know why, but I love every single episode the Young Animator Training Project has given us. Although Ojii-san no lamp will remain my favourite, this episode - just like any of the ones before - had a lot of charm going for it. Somehow I kept thinking Porco Rosso. |

I'm with you, I think there was some very obvious inspiration drawn from Porco Rosso from this. Can't be a coincidence that the pig guy had the exact same personality as Porco. Anyway, charming little piece |

The animation was great. Loved the characters, especially the main one. His fear of cats was hillarious. The plot wasn't all that interesting, being a kids' anime and all. It was pretty predictable, too. But I absolutely loved the music. The scores were genious and kept my attention the entire episode. Loved it. ^^= |

Oh, MAN, this is refreshing. Sometimes it's nice to have something that's just lighthearted and fun. The plot isn't the most original, but I think the strong point in this short is the characters, they all play off of each other very well. They made me laugh a couple of times, and, of course, the animation was gorgeous. As far as being a "kid's" anime, I feel like I'd have to disagree. Jewelpet is a kid's anime, Beyblade is a kid's anime. I would put this more into the "family" category. It doesn't have the complex themes and relationships of more 'adult' anime, but I think this is something an adult with appreciation for a good story and characters can sit down and enjoy. Maybe it's just aguing over terms, but it is how I feel about this title. I'll be giving it an 8. I enjoyed it greatly. |

Had some cute characters but that was it. I liked when the fox was teasing the pig at the end by meowing at him. |

Hmm, and that's it? We didn't get any real end? What a waste of time. Not to mention those chara designs that were pretty unlikable too. Jokes wasn't funny. And the story was too chlidish. I know this was the show for different target audience but even that, it lacked some cohesion and it was pretty boring to watch it when you think about it. The girl had no real purpose there. Small kitsune was crybaby. The only interesting character was Buta but his fear of cat was just ridiculous. I can't imagine any child finds this show interesting enough to want to watch it further. 3/10 Don't do half story when you know there will be no continuation. And this wouldn't pass even as first part of the series. |

Reading the reviews, it shocks me to see that there are some people who judge the series based on how it looks rather than what it is on the inside. Sad. This was a rather heartwarming fun adventure with the little kid and a literal buta. I was actually really surprised how much content this 24-minutes OVA packed, compared to Arve Rezzle that I just finished a while ago. Would've loved to see the ending where little foxy reunites with his family but I understand the time constraint. The only thing I didn't really like was the robot transformation at the end. Overall it was a worthy 24 minutes, reminds me of the cartoons I watched when I was still young. |

They told the story well considering it was 24:56mins, the only exception is that it wasn't done yet and even wrote that it was to be continued. I checked the sequel, but nada, oh well it was very good and I loved the buta/fox companionship. I didn't get their names though. 8/10 |

Very well-made all-around short adventure who could have been slightly better with one more scene to conclude it (instead of an ironic "to be continued"). Features a useless giant roboat. Enjoyment: 5/5 Score: 7/10 Those "made for kids" reactions... |

Nice one. I can't believe Miyuki Sawashiro voiced the kitsune. They could have fit a couple of more things here. Also, they left the treasure thing untouched by the end. |

Nice to see a legendary animator direct his own little OVA, it looked really fluid and fun. P.S. The reason behind the characters being animals is simple - you don't need to show too much violence against "cute" characters (Buta even strikes them with the blunt side of his sword). Given the target audience, it's somewhat understandable. |
