This was possibly the best Natsume season finale ever. It was unexpectedly heartbreaking but it also had the warmth and compassion that we've come to know in this series.

I'm really tempted to give this season a 10. I can't think of any episode in this series that I wasn't bored with or didn't like, and on the whole, it was just an amazing 13 episodes.

I really hope there is a fifth season. If not, then...;A;

Beautiful ending to a beautiful anime! I really hope there's a 5th season.

Such a touching finale. I cried. Seriously. Well this isn't my first time shedding tears over a Natsume episode, but when Natsume ran out calling out his father repeatedly, I burst into tears. T_T

I am so glad the Fujiwaras are so nice. I loved the way Touko-san hold Natsume's shoulders from behind as they came closer to take the pic. So much love! <3

I cannot dislike Miyoko for doing what she did, since she was a little girl back then, so it can be expected. :|

Seeing all of his friends together for a final time was so pleasing. I am wondering what Taki and Sasada would do if they found out Natori-san wa Natsume no shiriai! :P. I am not sure it was a good idea to drink that. Nishimura must have quite the stomach if he doesn't get it upset. :D

An amazing anime and I am sure we will have more of Natsume. Natsume has one of the better production value in the market, so a 5th or even a 6th won't be far. But i think we will be waiting at least a year before that. :)

This show has been top tier 10/10 since the first season and it has never got disappointing but there is so many questions that are yet to be answered.
Who is Natsume's grandpa?
Could Natsume's dad see youkai?
How did he mysteriously die?
Nyanko's past before he got sealed.

They need a new season or even a movie to explain all of this. I also really want to see a 10 years later or something. Natsume and his friends all grown up. Maybe i'm askin too much but this show could go so much farther. This is my first post and i'm one of those people who just read forums and never post but this show is well worth it...

Long live Natsume Yuujinchou.

Peace to all

Who is Natsume's grandpa?

In the newest chapter that just came out this month, we finally got hints of what could be Natsume's Grandfather: we get a flashback of Reiko talking about a human man from another town who is worried about her and buys her manjuu from a specific shop that she says is delicious. Not much, but more than we've had before. Although, a slightly earlier chapter (either last month's or the month before) had revealed that Reiko had Natsume's mum out of wedlock, so who knows.

Anyway, great season, even better than 2 which had been my favourite. Natsume's popular enough that I'm reasonably optimistic about another season as long as the manga is still ongoing.

This was one of my favourite stories from the manga, I'm glad they did such a beautiful job with it in these last couple of episodes. I've really enjoyed this season, probably the best season of Natsume so far.

I really didn't want the anime to end but wow, it still ended on a beautiful, heartwrenching note with hopes for the future. Like most commenters here, I couldn't stop my tears from flowing freely even if I already knew the story. The anime and Omori-sensei did awesome, awesome justice to Midorikawa-sensei's wonderful story telling, bringing out the different nuances of emotions from the manga to the anime that made it even better than it already is. Imo (and I've been saying this from Season 1), it is one of the best adaptation ever of a manga series...and in some instances, the anime really outdid the manga. Kudos to Brains Base for doing good work season after season. And finally, it goes without saying, the anime is nothing without the brilliant performances of the V.As. I loved and adored Kamiya Hiroshi's portrayal of Takashi and Kazuhiko Inoue's for his role as the beloved Madara/Nyanko-sensei. They truly brought out the spirit of the characters and made them shine. I will miss Takashi and friends and I really hope there will be a final season to close out Natsume as the manga too appears to be heading for a closure.

First of all, I like the show. I really do!

Than... I would probably agree that this was the best season, but actually I'm starting to get annoyed with this really slow development of the characters and the story.

It's the 4 season and Natsume is pretty much the same, just now in the end of the season that he's more open to his friends, and just now recognized his new family.
We know almost nothing about Reiko. Nothing about Madara. I need some answers :P

This anime brings out the emotions so well it's just great to watch i really hope there will be another season.
This was a very touching episode and it showed some of Natsume's early childhood which was pretty hard for him.
Trying to live on without his parent's and having a girl around that doesn't like him yet the people he stayed with where kind to him.
It was good to see him cry for ones it really showed his feelings towards his parent's.

Such a beautiful episode. I just can't convey with words how wonderful I felt. Natsume has grown so much, it's so marvelous and it shows how over time we move past things, but they really still are part of who we are and what shaped us. Such a wonderful lesson. I've really learned a lot from Natsume Yuujinchou :) I feel sad when I think about some things that happened to me in the past but when I realize how much those events made me who I am today, it doesn't seem so horrible after all.

Great great great season of Natsume Yuujinchou.
9/10 - I loved it, but I must admit some of the episodes had slight pacing problems. Also, there wasn't much development with Reiko or the Matoba family which was what I was really hoping for. So not as good as third season, but definitely amazing :D
--One note though. I do think that this finale was the best of all the seasons. It was so touching and passionate, and it was about an issue so close to Natsume.

As for another season, I'd love it with all my heart! I'm thinking that there will be one, but there'll be a large gap before it comes.

Oh, and kid Natsume is ADORABLE<3

And the whole memory thing made me think of Kanon :3

Well these couple seems to be nice I wonder why they part of Natsume then. I wonder if Taki would treat Madara-sama as such if he was in his true form (now that I think of it she would just the same).

Natsume's been a great series, each episode is usually touching and this one ended with a heavy heart. I doubt we'll see anymore seasons, sadly enough. Depending on its success overall I wouldn't put a movie out of the question though.

This episode was good, a bit too much reminiscing in the beginning that I felt it didn't need. I kept checking to see how much time it had left in hopes it had something more. And for all of the reminiscing with the girl I expected her to say something to him when he delivered the key back like, "Sorry I was such a brat" or something. Instead he handed her the key and walked away a midst the monologue. They missed out on a good scene there. Very touching scene in the end taking the picture and saying goodbye to the house. I don't know if its in the manga or not, and I don't really intend to find out, but I wish we could have seen when he met Nyanko. I also liked the youkai smiling at him through the trees when the made it to the shrine.

Good ending, I'll be sad to see no more. :(

Great episode TTATT I wasn't expecting to cry in the middle when Natsume was mumbling his apologies after he was found and then Miyoko had to go and tell him leave TTATT so many scenes in this episode makes me want to cry D= But I love the ending =) how Natsume took a photo with Tohko and Shigure and Nyanko-sensei and his trip and stuff like that.

I hope there's another season for this! This series is so great! Kudos to the production team and the writer and anyone who help with this series =DD

I love this Anime, it's so pure and touching, it shows that we can have a nice anime without violence, blood and that stuff (Not that I don't love this kind of anime but) definitely it marks a difference.

I'll miss watching Natsume every week, and well I hope with all my heart that'll be another season~ Natsume deserves it~

M-My body was not ready. My tears, I’ve shed them all ;A;

What a fantastic, sweet and purely heartfelt episode—perfect ending to the fourth season.

It feels odd knowing I won’t be able to wait patiently for Natsume every week, savouring bits of happiness each time. It makes me terribly sad not getting my ray of sunshine, filling my heart with warmth; I am so lonely.

They managed to find the soda spring~! And it was Natori’s CD! I knew it! If Taki or Sasada found out Natsume knows Natori… Oh my, I can see it. That’d be superb.

That photo ♥ The Fujiwaras, Natsume and Nyanko-sensei, all together. I can’t take how beautiful it is.

I want to believe this isn’t “the end”, so I’ll keep wishing with a content smile on my face for Natsume to never end.

Fifth season, please. I’ll wait patiently, no matter how long it takes.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

The ending of this episode and series had me crying like a little child.. like many others here.

I can't express how much I feel for this character.
He has such a fragile human heart who still strives to do his very best, growing bit by bit with each arc. I'm very very proud of him... If I could I would just love to give him a hug and tell him that he's done a wonderful job. More than anything, I wish for him eternal happiness with lots of love from his new surroundings of family and friends. Having said that, he's the most human character I've meet in an anime before.

What I loved about this series the most is that they were able to tell these stories without going completely overboard with it, exaggerating on scenes or any of the drama likes. It was told in a sweet and simple fashion... like a small tale you'd hear everynight before going to bed. You can't help but actually hold these characters close to your heart. Because even if the series does contain supernatural elements, it does it in a very innocent matter without having unecessary gore, violence, and excentric drama flying about. Did I just repeat myself? Haha..

This was one of the most enjoyable series I've followed.
It calms my heart... almost like getting a reassuring hug, a pat on the head and gentle smile telling you everything will be okay in the end.

I absolutely loved it.
I give my thanks to the author and the studio who produced this ^_^

One of the reasons I love this anime is that the emotions expressed seem very subtle and realistic, there's no melodrama. Even though it's based on the supernatural, it seems more down to earth than a lot of other anime out there.

Natsume crying at the end made me tear up. Hoping for a fifth season along with everyone else. Until then, I think I'll go read the manga ;)
