I'm...terribly conflicted.
On one hand, getting an anime means it's popular enough. It's a great manga by Arakawa. Unique as well.
On the other, there's only 34 freaking chapters around.
Anime producers should really wait until it gathered more materials before adapting a work.
Oh well, it's their decision. I just think it's a bad idea at the moment.

Lol a silver spoon bundled in the volume.

Strike while the iron is hot... I guess. Although I also think it's a bit too early for an anime, I guess a little more advertisement in form of an anime won't hurt. I'm pretty sure the award is part of the reason why an anime is now on it's way.

Way to go Arakawa-sensei, I like Silver Spoon and I'm glad to hear so many great news.

Yes. Yes. Yes!
I think they should wait until the manga is finished, though. But the anime was only announced, since the manga is weekly, maybe it'll end before the anime airs or along with the anime like Fullmetal Alchemist. We're at autumn arc and the story will probably end with winter arc, I guess? I remember a news that said that Silver Spoon was planned to be short.
4-5 volumes is about right for 12 episodes long anime.

Let's root for a 12 episodes anime then but it seems a bit soon indeed. Fantastic manga though, I definitely prefer it to FMA (and I really, really liked it).

I'm hoping (really hard) it won't be them adapting it. I don't think it's their kind of narrative anyway. Sounds more like JC Staff or Production IG... or even A1 Pictures.

To be honest I don't need an anime myself, I'm completely content with just having the manga (especially seeing how other adaptations of Arakawa's works have been), but if that means the manga is going to get more exposure and Arakawa's going to earn some more money, I'm fine with it.

It's too soon for an anime.
I at least hope they can finish the 1st season without catching up with the manga and then give it a time before starting the 2nd season.

It's more than likely the manga company behind the quick adaption... you know to boost the manga sales... FMA went from like 50k a volume to 700k+ thanks to an anime adaption.

I didn't check the manga out because I wasn't sure I was going to like it and intended to check it out later. However, news that it is getting an anime has made me more interested. I'll definitely be watching it when it comes out and I'll probably read the manga alongside it.

I hope it gets a good studio.
