Takamura s background story. Not the best way to end a shonen. It makes me wanna read the manga or watch the next season.

I agree. I also want to start reading manga, but +800 chapters is pretty much. I don't want to start from the beginning. I would like to know what is the chapter where Ippo becomes the champion?

So technically, the series ended on episode 75. This was just a TV special (or something along those lines). It could have been used earlier as a normal episode (like Kimura's and Aoki's background).

It was still amusing xD

It was a pretty funny one, almost felt like either they forgot to add in Takamuras starting story after they realized it at the Aoki/Kimura starting story, or they just wanted this to be the last episode, end it with the start of Kamogawa Gym (They basically went bankrupt and were close to closing it down or so they said).

Anyway it was pretty enjoyable, te whole series was. I just started watching it cause I heard alot and before I knew it I saw the second season. Didn't want to be left behind! :D

Good episode, worthy ending!

Haha, Takamura's backstory was great. Almost as good as Aoki and Kimura's backstory. The comedy in Hajime no Ippo is just as good as the action.

As funny as this episode is, it really didn't fit in. It should have been its own OVA like the Mashiba vs Kimura fight.

God damnit Geneon, I had to watch this episode fansubbed because it wasn't on the Geneon DVD's. /:(

Haha, loved it :)
Takamura is so funny :D

Lord of Perverts huh? It fits him quite good :D

The ending was most funny :D
They say there's no such place... as Paradise. Even if you search it to the ends of the Earth, there's nothing there. No matter how far you walk, it's always the same road. It just goes on and on. But, in spite of that... Why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me... It says, "Search for Paradise."

In my opinion, this episode just felt out of place. Ippo had already won the match against Sendo and became champion. Then to end the anime with the history of how Takamura joined Kamogawa gym.. man, weird.

This series wouldn't have been half as fun without Takamura. It's a little awkward ending the series with his story, but it was a good, funny story regardless.

actually i prefered this as the last episode because i was so sad when it all finished at episode 75, episode 76 lifted my spirit with a bit of slice of life, yaknow?

I REALLY don't get why people are bitching about episode 76. Throughout the whole series we got a comic relief episode after a serious fight, and after the best fight in the series we get the best comic episode, how fitting. It's Hajime no Ippo's style, jeez, I'd think you'd get used to it after so many episodes.

Well I didn't watch this when it was being aired.. but this last episode was pretty weird to end their first season haha Nonetheless, it was still satisfying to get to know Takamura's background story.. His debut match is more impressive then Ippos' :-D
Loved the hilarious ending! :-)))) best way to end the show; with laughs!

Of course, he would try to do that journalist xD

It was a good episode. A bit too long some time.

Fantastic episode! Really liked this episode, especially because Takamura is one of my favourite characters! Awesome match, 25 seconds KO! LOL @ the end, "Umm, there's a strange noise coming from inside", haha Takamura is just epic!

Pretty nice little backstory, in general would've liked to have it a bit earlier but still was pretty nice! Let's see what the sequel will have to offer for story!

Fun times with our favorite king of perverts.

I do kinda wish things weren't so easy for him. He just has this natural potential and incredible strength and wins so easily. I'm sure if he were a woman he'd be called a Mary Sue.

Very enjoyable episode, I really like to see my boy Takamura in action and know more about his past and how he started. He's definitely the best and most powerful boxer we have seen up to date (Champion Date wouldn't stand a chance against him, right? I don't really know if in boxing the weighing's difference makes a huge unbalance btwn fighters) but we don't get to see him fighting much because Ippo's got all the highlights.
One of the best characters I've ever seen, laughs are granted whenever he's in.
And I loled at the end of the ep, never fails to amuse me but he didn't set 'that' in in time hahaha
Coach Kamogawa is a really good character too.

It was great to see how Takamura started boxing. Also was great to see how the coach and Takamura become so close. And that last part. Takamura will forever stay the Lord of Perverts!

Takamura trying to brighten the mood in the gym with those posters killed me, but he did win in brightening it with paint, lol!

He sure was awesome in KO' ng that guy in just 25 secs, he sure is bear slayer and king of perverts. I can't wait to see him in the sequel along with Aoiki and Kimura.

It's always good when the Coach show happy emotions

I guess Takamura is OP from the start
Though until now I can't bring myself to like him, I think I can like him a little bit

Haha that's the first time I saw Takamura succeed in "nanpa" or flirting with girls xD

Nice to see Takamura beginner days, seems like he changed a lot of lives by entering the boxing world, from the old trainer, to Kimura and Aoki and now Ippo.
