I think the reason this happens (because this happened to me as well around the same episode), is because the narrative comes to a screeching halt while the main character spends too long recovering at the cottage. Same issue (among many) with Evangelion 3.0+1.0: the story takes way too long motivating its own main character to get off their behind in order for the story to continue. |
