| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Best episode yet. 5/5 If it keeps up, it's gunna be a 9/10. Some really good romance/emotional scenes. It didn't actually try to bring tears to the viewer's eyes, so that way it wouldn't fail. Job well done. :P |

| I guess Mako and her friend are the girls on the OP, but it's weird that the color of their hairs are swapped. Well, this episode left me both impressed, and disappointed. I never expected this anime to portray a girl as a racer, and as a really good one. I thought the girls here would always be in a "supportive role", or fangirling over the Takahashi Brothers or something, so it's refreshing. But at the same time, the poor girl got to a point in which she's ready to give up doing something she loves, racing, just to be accepted by a man, because they don't look at her as a potential lover when they know that she's a racer, most certainly because some stupid pride wouldn't allow them to be with a girl that's is better than them at driving, which is pretty sad. Iketani too, felt humiliated and got on the defensive, asking her if she wanted to laugh at him after seeing his mistake on the road, when he was the one that lied to her in order to look cool in the first place, something so stupid that I thought only Itsuki would do. At first he was gentle, and told her that he doesn't mind a girl being a racer, but as soon as he knew she was better, he started to act like it's all over, and I expected more of him, like encouraging her to continue racing. But who knows, things might still work out for them, and this race is going to be good, and interesting, different from the one with that lowlife called Shingo. The only downside is that Takumi is going to win for sure, and knowing this kind of kills a bit of the excitement. Well, he might lose someday, but unfortunately I don't think it will be now. Also it was so out of character for him to humour those two fools, and follow Iketani on his date, I guess it was for him to see another downhill pass, and get interested in racing elsewhere, but still weird. |

| So Mako indeed was a racer and unfortunately she was more into being able to compete with Takumi than to meet Iketani. To a point of offering her virginity only to be able to compete with that famous AE86. Poor Iketani... :(( Anyway, it was a very good episode. LMAO hahahaha so true xD |

| I don't know if I am expecting too much from this anime. But if Iketani becomes good enough at racing and wins against Mako, he can get the girl and also fufill her wish right? Though that won't happen if this anime is one of those which only glorifies the main character and uses side characters only for comic relief. Don't disappoint me Initial D. |

| Pretty good episode but like others i was disappointed by Mako's proposition to Iketani especially from a writing and character standpoint, since it felt so completely unnecessary. I mean substitute "her virginity" with "$1000 dollars" and it's easy to see how over the top stupid that offer was. For you don't just offer someone $1000 without first checking to see if they'd do it for much less or in this case probably for free. She simply had to say it would make her really happy if she ever got the chance to race Takumi and is there any doubt that Iketani wouldn't have moved mountains to make it happen? Instead she ends up making herself look trashy and frankly dumb. Probably more so than the writers intended. |
| I absolutely love how Iketani is acting brand new since that girl gave him her number LOL He needed a little confidence boost honestly… I love how they dog Mako & when they meet her they are absolutely shook 😂😂 I really feel happy for Iketani!!!!! I KNEW IT. I KNEW THAT MAKO GIRL WAS THE DRIVER IN THE FIRST SCENE!!!!!
