Raratah said: I really can't believe that the Shakugan no Shana that I loved in the first two seasons is really going in a direction like this and for an ending like this. From episode 1 of the third season I have felt like I am watching a completely different anime from Shakugan no Shana. It just feels so different from what it used to be, and I miss the way it used to be. I am really disappointed in where the series has gone, and I don't know if it can really fix itself. I don't like how I think it is going to end at all. Exactly my thoughts. This episode was bullshit. No, Sakai in the third season is not the same, he is annoying piece of shit so full of himself, not a bit reminiscent of former self. He basically told them he is creating a world where Tomogara will freely feast on people yet they shouldn't care it about it because it's not their world and they quickly accepted it? He wasn't even hiding his intentions and was highly suspicious from the start. And for Tanaka to actually saying he confirmed Sakai is still the same person as before that was scene worthy of the facepalm. And it would be so much better if Yoshida actually told him what she thinks about this plan, even if she still have hots for him (then even more so). The careful build-up of previous season when every character had their motivations, likes and dislikes where every life was important and where personal stories were told just went down the drain in season 3, really. The large scale scope of this season with way too many actors is the bad part. I wish the series was small stories instead because those were pretty relatable... and this mess certainly isn't. Even Shana just resorted to fight, fight, fight attitude... and for what reason? To prove something to him? But honestly, Sakai's character developement is the worst, his development no longer makes any sense. |
| I think Yuuji is aware of the long term consequences of creating Xanadu. He's still willing to risk it all though. It's similar to choosing a government/economic system, every single one of them is flawed, you just have to choose the lesser evil. IMO, socialism is the lesser evil. Screw capitalism. |
