OK so here I am, extremely tired, with no life, and I found Code Geass. So I watch the first five episodes... Telling myself THISS IS THE LAST ONE every time... Now I'm on six. Every episode makes me want to kill the writers for being so inconsiderate to my sleeping schedule.

I hear you on that, especially for Code Geass. Damn them, don't they know we need our sleep.

It's why I HATE starting a series that doesn't already have like 50 episodes done

Solution: Suck it up, go to sleep, dream about the anime and watch it the next day. It's not like it's gonna run away...

Heh, at least you're not watching R2 ... you'd be totally FORCED to wait a full week for every new episode.

Thats the problem with CG, the writers just use too much cliffhangers.

Just, erm, tihnk to yourself "Lelouch is gonna get out of it" and go to sleep knowing that hes gonna get out of it in some very wacky way. XD

Nah, the thing with Code Geass is that the writers failed.

Higurashi's cliffhangers got me though, seriously stayed up for 3 hours with a few relatives watching that. Luckily, there were arcs so I could stop without killing someone with a cleaver.

I can't speak for Code Geass, but in general I have no problems with cliffhangers. When used right they can help keep the tension up, and give you something to think about while you wait for the next episode.

Code Geass cliffhangers are nothing compared to Code Geass R2 cliffhangers.

I definitely agree with you on this. Code Geass R2 has some huge cliffhangers that make Code Geass seem like the bunny slope.

Code Geass R2 cliffhangers are horrible. Not in the sense of what they do but in the sense of how it's executed. The writing just sucks.

Using a cliff hanger is one thing. Screwing the story in the ass just so you can put in a cliff hanger is another thing. Pacing in R2 is so inconsistent episode to episode that it's almost as if the writers tell themselves that they want to end the episode with a cliffhanger and then force whatever content they have to fit within that boundary regardless of if it fits appropriately or not.

Some episodes moved like molasses and others moved like a horse with its tail on fire. At numerous times I found myself asking the question... "well for fuck's sake, they could've just left the cliff hanger out and spaced the content so that they wouldn't be screwing the representation of the story over."

I know how you feel :| Thats why I usually watch animes that are done airing, so no cliff hangers ^_^

ZnT s3 cliffhangers?... You mean... "Oh god, what tit-joke are they going to recycle next? I can't wait to see." and "How many times will louise and saito's relationship loop from love to hate for pathetically recycled reasons"?
