That trailer gave me a raging erection.

As much as I love the old games, they weren't really all that scary to begin with. They could never stack up against Silent Hill or System Shock 2 and new iterations would be even more screwed with titles like Fatal Frame, Siren, and Amnesia on the market.

I thought Resident Evil 5 was shit, but that was because of the forced co-op and lack of atmosphere. As long as it retains the dark and moody tone of the first four (five including Code Veronica, six including 0), I will enjoy this series.

At least it has Zombies...but I've not been a fan of the Over the Shoulder perspective like Gears of War.

Resident Evil Remake and Zero had the best Survival Horror engine...this is just piggy backing the awful Resident Evil 5.

Not sure what to make of it to be honest, no doubt I'll still play it when it comes out.

At the same time as I think this looks cool as hell, I think THIS is the series Capcom needs to Reboot. Not Devil May Cry. I love resident evil but I don't really like what it's turning into. [/rant]

I miss the old days where I'd play to my heart's content, finish the damn game, wait for another good game to come out and play. You get the cycle. Usually I buy a game if the plot is interesting. Sure, graphics would be a good bonus for a game but I never cared whether it was stones and heels.

Games of this generation focuses on improving the graphics. I haven't been playing a game that struck my heart since the early 2003.

Ohh is that an aged Leon and Chris I see? Watching the video, why do I feel a tinge of AC-ish in here? It's.. a good thing though.

I think that RE5 was not the best, they were not zombies anymore...I know that everything evolves but I would prefer the zombies.

One of the things that I liked on RE5 was the fact of playing the campaign in CO-OP

The graphics for RE6 are awesome. I like the fact that in RE they use old characters for the story but I really don't know if I am going to buy it or not xD.

I'm so excited that CO-OP is back!! It gave RE5 so much re-play value it otherwise wouldn't have had. So glad Leon is back! Wish Rebecca was in it.

The only reason under me to play Resident Evil 6, is for Javo. Which, to me, is a curious reflection of Resident Evil 3's Nemesis. Obviously the same bio-weapon, but the question is (by connotation), could it be Nemesis rejuvenated? I'm completely unsure, though stirs enough to intrigue. Definitely worth a spin.

Not everything is about graphics. There are just more and more good games that are constantly being released I play more than I can handle rather than like in the earlier years where I'd just play a single game for a very long time.

I don't like that there are 3 playable characters. To me, that hints that the game will follow the mission-based style that Resident Evil 5 had, rather than the Resident Evil 4 style.

Can't be certain yet. From what I've read there will be two leads, seemingly. It shouldn't be too bad. I mean, look at Resident Evil 3, where you had to couple with Carlos.

Leon as a lead in Resident Evil 6 would be interesting though, what with the new and apparent super-like Pursuer and all. Kind of a switch from Jill.

Oh please, Ashley wasn't that bad. Especially since there was usually a good palce to tuck her away in every chapter. From a niche to a conveniently placed dumpster, et cetera. For an escort mission throughout the game Ashley was surprisingly tolerable.

She wasn't terribly annoying, not unless you count her shrill voice shouting "LEEOOON! HELP!" three times in a row. Which... was the only annoying thing about her, besides the '1 bullet kill' logic.

The Giraffe thing is surprisingly accurate... Makes one wonder.

Anyway. Why does this game have Leon and Chris. Leon was already in 4 and Chris in 5. I think it's time for other characters to make an appearance. Like CLair or Rebecca or any of the other characters in the series. Or perhaps even someone new?

Well we have that guy who is supposedly Hunk, not new to the series but first time as a playable character...well, not counting Raccoon City.

That's a pretty good idea -- the majority of them are pretty great games (albeit maybe aged a bit poorly in the case of 1).
Does it come with Code Veronica X as well?

I still don't get why people keep saying this.

Unless there's a remake, there won't be any more survival horror kinda games on RE series. That virus is already gone, there's no virus that would make people into zombies anymore, Tricel/Umbrella came up with new ways to develop virus and what not, so there's a really low population of zombies still on Earth(obviously I'm talking about the game history). Also, the story has to move on, I think it'd be boring if you had to kill zombies every time they released a new game.

Oh, and most of people that keep saying "omfg no horror game", also claim that RE4 is the best RE game ever, nice logic. (Not saying you're one of them, just stating a fact)

No the 360 version comes with 4-5, Code Veronica and that bad cgi movie Degeneration I believe so the ps3 version is a way better choice when I want to experience them all.

Ohh okay, yeah I agree with you there.
If you like the style of 1-3 then, I recommend picking up CVX HD edition. There's nothing really HD about it (Capcon are incredibly lazy when it comes to this kind of thing) but it's still worth picking up.

Beat this game. Camera views aren't very well done, the quick time events can be very clunky, sometimes you'll die out of nowhere unless you know what's going to happen beforehand, BUT overall I think it was a fun game. And there are plenty of extras to warrant paying for a new game and stuff like Mercenaries and Agent hunt can be fun too. I bought the Anthologies version and I'm probably going to play RE2 and RE4 again now.

Actually, that would be Resident Evil 5. RE6 tries to implement more of RE4 into the gameplay by adding in things like more resource management, narrower passageways and more zombie spawn points so they'll actually surround you. They do a decent job, but I think it's the extras that they added in that made the game feel clunky. Way too many quick time events, to the point where you can still be attacked during one, so say you get caught up in one, a bus can come and kill you on the spot since you can't dodge. Or the chase scenes. The animations for turning and whatnot aren't very smooth and the camera angles can suck big, so getting through some of those can get annoying.

Anyway, the horror still exists. It's just not really survival horror anymore. Old school RE games would build up suspense throughout most of the game through silent exploration with random zombie moans here and there so when something as random as a crow flying and hitting a window happens, you're more likely to jump. These new ones are more about zombies being everywhere now, so you can't build up much tension since there are people screaming, yelling and getting attacked.

I don't know. I actually think this direction is the best action decision for the series since most fans want to keep seeing the usual main characters like Jill, Chris, Leon, Clair and Ada. These characters are probably the best suited people to kill zombies in the RE world, so it's painfully obvious that compared to their RE and RE2 counterparts, these guys are very much prepared to fend off just about any kind of BOW. This in turn means that the tension felt in the past RE games won't be the same in the current ones so as long as we're playing as these fearless zombie hunters.

Capcom when creating RE6: " Fuck Survival Horror, lets just pander to every possible gamer, because god forbid a AAA title only resonate with a specific audience, all AAA games should just be a viscous mass of unidentifiable brown and grey sludge!"
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

Too many QTEs is absolutely right.

Anyway, I just need the rest of the emblems for platinum. Game has been very fun, but not without its problems. I hate any of the vehicle parts (which are very easy after the first time, but that's not the point), way too many QTEs and scripted deaths, cheap deaths, and some very bad game design concerning certain things - for example - the zombies that lunge at you in Leon's campaign. You can shoot those things in mid air at point blank range with a shotgun with the Shotgun Mastery skill equipped, and you'll kill them right away...BUT, they won't get blown back, they still grab you, and you still have to break out of their grab...while they're going through their melting away animation. The phantom train in Leon 1 is another good example.

Also, the game could have seriously used a check point system when you're starting a chapter from the main menu. I love playing Leon 1, but for fuck's sake, let me skip that beginning part helping the guy find his daughter.

Personally I am really enjoying the game. Even if it is not survival horror anymore, it's still a fun title for what it is. Hoping to Platinum it, though it make take some time.

Only problem I had with the game, is that the chapters take TOO long to finish. They should have broken them up more a bit.

Ah! I know what you're talking about. It's happened on more than one occasion with me. At the beginning of a zombie's grab animation, I can shoot off it's head but it'll still grab me and bite me. You'll see no head, but blood spurting out of my shoulder and after the QTE, it'll just drop down and die. A block of life gone for nothing.

It's about 45 minutes to 1 hour long per chapter. Not that bad. You can just quit the game after you see the "checkpoint" flashing anyway.

I'm pretty sure it brings you to the last checkpoint when you select to continue the game. I realized that it resets your game when you play another campaign or select chapter. You need to click continue from the play menu to continue the game. I believe if you join someone else's game it resets your progress as well.
