| 5/5 This is how it should be I loved this episode and its character development >.<, if they had won that would be so fake, besides is truth that we learn more with our failures and that's how they will grow up!. I have been asking for more arata for 15 episodes I really hope he shows up more on the coming episodes.! |

| Ohhhh man I feel so frustrated >_< Nikuman kun is so right! 2nd place hurts like a bitch >:/ I know how much it hurts to T_T I've come 2nd place in a states competition and first place was my friend! I was so happy she won, yet so frustrated I lost to her by 0.2 points! Though you did so well, you're so pissed that you lost and were so close to first! Aishhh it really is the worst >_< Defeat episodes are the best. Characters grow so much and develope so well. I love how they are sticking to reality, and not making any miracles happen like Chihaya defeating the Queen! I love the messages they were trying to project to! The typical "You must be defeated to learn and get better" message but also the whole "2nd place is the worst" message. When Porky said "Second place hurts the most" I just wanted to cry :/ On a side note!!~ Looks like we have a rivals web set up now!! xD Lets see: Chihaya VS Queen. This will obviously be Chihayas and the Queens main competition. They are full on rivals now! Chihaya VS Arata. Then we have this fight for Chihaya to :3 Arata VS Queen. Moving onto Arata~ Though we'll probably never get it, it would be great to see these 2 up agaisnt one another! Arata VS Taichi. This will be the big showdown for the boys. Taichi has always felt inferior. Doesn't help with the whole love triangle thing xD They are rivals in love and karuta! Taichi VS Porky! This is Porky's main rival, though I dont know how serious Taichi is about it. Porky really wants to beat Taichi though! Desk Kun VS Kana Chan. I have a feeling the newbies are gonna have to VS each other soon :3 I wonder if 10 eps can cover all that xD |
| Very touching episode. Taichi's loss made me sad but I am glad that they realized their weaknesses now and trying to improve. I would love to see Taishi vs Arata but at this point, we all know what the outcome will be. Hopefully in the near future, Taishi will become a strong karuta player and be able to face Arata. When Nishida said "Second place hurts the most" I thought of Taichi's feelings and that he will never be #1 in Chihaya's heart. After every episode, I keep hoping that Chihaya will somehow end up loving Taishi and eventually end up with him. |
| Man, another great episode, I freaking love this series XD Shinobu's scary when she's angry ... glad Chihaya didn't miraculously win though, that would have been too unrealistic I think :P Wow, watching Taichi lose was really sad though. Second place hurts the most ... I can really see the truth in that D: Nishida knows it too huh ... D: Tiachi! T_T When everyone else was crying and he was trying to hold his own tears back ... guhhhh! T_T Kind of reminded me of back when his parents told him to only do things he could win ... IT'S OK! NEXT TERM! Looking forward to the next episode / arc :D Lots of rivalries now ... the Queen and Chihaya, then Arata is starting to play again of course ... :3 |
| It's sad that not one member of the group have won anything but I admire them for doing their best. I can't wait for Chihaya vs Shinobu in the next tournament. |

| Taichi's match is soooo boring!!! It's so boring i was like, "just lose already!!!" The Queen is so interesting, she has so much flavor in her, i don't know if she is a tsundere, yandere, or kuudere... XD |

| Loved this Episode, and love Shinobu :D Will be interesting to see where the Show goes now, seeing as in High School Sports Manga and Anime the Interhigh Competitions are usually the ultimate Competition. |

| 5/5 Predictable, but it often happens that one mistake and it is hoped, in this narration was good, though not giving strong emotions. Plot that sees the end but also the beginning of a new phase. | Chihaya loses to Shinobu which is expected, but the way Chihaya lost ticked off Shinobu. She had never heard of Chihaya plus to the other Karuta players she was new to the game. Hardly anyone knew about her except for Sudo and his team. So to Shinobu, that win which Chihaya takes 5 cards angers her because how can someone who she hasn't ever heard off take 5 cards. We've seen Shinobu crush her competition and taking like 1 card. Chihaya takes 5 CARDS, I'd be mad as well if I was Shinobu. Poor Taichi, 6 matches and he loses the final by 3 cards. Their stamina was their weakest point, but I'm surprised Chihaya also lacked stamina. I mean she did say she was in the track team in middle school so I thought her stamina was good. |

Kudo is a boy so he'll not compete against for the "queen" title counter to Chihaya. I still cheered for Chihaya, but if I watched this from neutral perspective, I might prefer Snowmaru-Chan. (would be a close call at least) Really glad they focused on Taichi. Showed how he can be really strong with his calmness and his ability to sort his mind; but at the same time, also highlighted his deficits. All in all, this episode made me really hyped for what's to come! |
Atenias said: After rewatching, I realized that when the Queen blushes because of Chihayaya's compliment, the ones who say that 'the Snowman actually have a name' and 'Other people recognize it' are the girls in the background. Until I saw this comment and rewatched the scene, I thought the Queen just had her mind blown by the fact that a snow man on a t-shirt she liked was an actual character with a name. That happened to me too as a kid... had some things I liked with a cute character design on it and I later realized that the character was really popular with its own personality and stories. I probably made the same face as the Queen when I realized that XD  |
