I had to live in a room where a girl was killed by her boyfriend. The entire house was possessed. Flies every 2 minutes after we had just cleaned the same place. Dirt always in the tub even after it was cleaned 2 minutes before and other strange things.
I lived in that house for only 5 months. I was glad to be out of there.

Eh, the last two 'encounters' can be explained as Sleep Paralysis, which is a state in which your mind wakes up before your body, and in turn, may cause intense highly realistic terrifying hallucinations. Not so sure what the 1st one was though.

I do beleive in them. I haven't had to many real experiences, one time I took a recorder and asked "If anyone was listening" and I got a staticy response. My mom says that never happens.

My sister however has had a big experience. One time while she was alone at our house, she says she heard a group of people looking through our house for something. That they tossed everything around and knocked on the doors; she locked herself up in her room and we had to come home early to see what the problem was. It sounds pretty fantastic but my sister is pretty reliable and level headed, I completely beleive her.

Other than that my dad says when he's alone he hears someone going through the kitchen all the time.

Why'd these experiences people bring up mean there's a ghost? There's countless of other possible reasons for weird phenomena (reality is a multifarious, ill-documented and awesome place after all), and some of them are not even inside our brains. However, concluding that experience X was due to ghosts is sort of premature. We have no evidence for the possibility of the existence of ghosts, but plenty that make them logical and material impossibilites. For instance, if ghosts exists, then so should souls (unless you go for "energy imprints" or whatever, which is pseudoscience and meaningless words). Considering the incredible logical and empirical difficulties ontological dualists have, that's a very far-off thing. Sadly.

In short, "experiences" does not equate ghosts. They equate phenomena for which the human mind chooses metaphysically weird theories as no other explanation is forthcoming yet.

It'd be nice if we became ghosts after death. I wouldn't let that wish cloud my judgment, however.

This is the first time I ever saw anyone go for Pascals Wager regarding ghosts.

A question on the last one, you said you locked the door right? How could your parents come into your room then?

Anyway, if I ever saw a ghost. I don't think I would be able to sleep anymore, or maybe just walk around at night. Well, probly not even be alone. If not I know that the ghost can't harm me or won't, maybe I would feel safer. But still..I would be scared rest of my life if I ever saw one.

lol! It comes in all shapes and forms, apparently. I'll try it out the next time Bigfoot comes up in a conversation.

I don't believe in ghosts in the slighests, there's simply no evidence to support them. If they do in fact exist, our current understanding of reality would be completely wrong, as they defy established laws of physics. I'm still very easily scared by horror movies, though, I have a wild imagination.

Well as for me, most "paranormal' experiences are usually that persons fault. It's been proven many times. On those ghost buster shows on scifi channel and the likes.

I do believe there are paranormal activity but not as often as most people report. I dont know if i could count this as a paranormal experience, but I was walking to the kitchen around noon time and i noticed as certain space in my hallway was a hot spot. LIke a very HOT, sauna like feeling. I walked by thinking nothing of it but when i walked back to my room i noticed it even more. I could actually move around and feel there was a cool space underneath it.

Mind you my whole house has the A/C blasted at 70F. But this 2x2x4 ft spot in the hallway felt like it was a good 80F. And this was nowhere near windows or doors leading outside. It was just a hotspot.

I believe in ghosts, and yes I have seen em.

-----

My mom passed away in Feb 05 from emphysema.

In June 06, I had graduated from high school. At my graduation ceremony, the way the chairs were seated was that the graduates were facing the audience. I noticed that one of the chairs in the audience closest to me was empty. I faced the other way for a min to talk to someone, but when I went to go look at that empty chair, it wasn't empty. The ghost of my mom was sitting in that chair.

She was smiling at me and she was wearing her favorite dress (a black dress with a white rose design on it). Hell, she even had her oxygen tank with her (like she always had when she was alive). And I just started to cry, and everyone thought I was crying because I was graduating.

That whole thing was kinda scary.. the moment you said that, i burst into laughter.

Now, most of you are saying that some sightings are a trick of the mind. I have to disagree. The paranormal is the force that people know little about .. its what separates the known knowledge from the unknown. So 'your mind is playing tricks on you' is just a guess, or an exuse sometimes. I know elderly VERY religous people who can sence spirits and ghosts ect ect, they have seen.. they have heard.
And evidently, in todays sociaty, one who doesn't know about the meaning or cause in something fails to see the value in it.
Then that = idiot claims it doesn't excist cuz they think thier some bigshot smartass whos opinion counts, and no one elses .. Personally i do believe. But considering i'm the biggest chicken on the face of the planet. I get the hitabagibbies (shivers xD ) just reading some the of expeirances you guys are explaining. Nonetheless, i've had a few myself.

When my little brother was about 4, he was playing with his toys in my doorway and my back was turned for a second. Then he screamed. He told me he had seen someone had gone into my parents bed room (mind you, we were alone at home at this time). When i went into their room, i found nobody.

I've read in books, that young children are more aware of these kind of things then adults are, on account of their fragile mind and sensitive senses. They don't have stress, lifes confusion and desires blocking themselves.

Gosh guys!
All this scary talk is freaking me out *O*
Every like, 5 seconds i look behind my shoulder. >.<

I'd say I definitely believe in ghosts. I'm intent on joining a paranormal research society when I move back home after school.

Back in high school I used to blame everything on ghosts. I was obsessed. In the past few years I've calmed down and I've become much more able to distinguish what one might call a "trick of the mind" from something that might be legitimately paranormal in nature.

I'm also a huge sucker for ghost stories, haunted places and horror movies (especially ghost-related). But on the other hand, I'm a huuuuuge chicken. I'm so easily scared it's ridiculous. XD I'll act all brave during the daytime, but at night you have to drag me through the haunted house.

I've had a couple of personal experiences with the paranormal before.
In high school my friends and I would regularly use a Ouija board. We didn't believe in it for quite some time; we thought it was just a harmless way to kill a few hours.
After the first few times of using it, though, strange stuff started happening. We often held "sessions" in either my bedroom or the wing of the house that belonged to my grandpa when he was alive (he died in the living room of that side). Some of the weirdest stuff happening were things like the "pointer" moving without anyone touching it, a Pepsi can getting really really hot after just taking it out of the fridge, my sister's hair *literally* floating up, the board flying off the floor and into the wall (barely missing my head), and after we'd be done for the night we'd pack it all up in the box and put it under the bed. One morning we woke up to find it unpacked and set up to use - still under the bed.
After we stopped using the board altogether I found that I couldn't sleep comfortably in my own room anymore. I always felt that something menacing was watching me as I slept. It was always over by my dresser where we would use the Ouija. I eventually just flat out (well aware that I looked like an idiot talking to the wall) told it to go away and leave me alone. It's been fine since then. And I still can't be alone on my grandpa's side of the house after dark. Freaks me the heck out.

My other experience happened shortly before the whole Ouija fiasco. My grandpa was very sick with cancer, and having live-in help come to our house. One night I woke up at exactly 3:00AM to see a skeletal, greenish glowing figure standing at the foot of my bed. It greatly resembled my grandpa - and started reaching out over the bed toward me. I freaked and pulled the covers over my head. When I got up the courage to peek out, it was gone. He died the next day.
