| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I guess it could be expected, that neither of the two would need 20 years for his respective task. Basically the one's who stated the estimates before were both astonished by the speed at which Toriko and Komatsu were progressing, but ultimately they saved the final moment for the next episode in both cases. Anyway: They DID skip several months in this episode ... wonder what the bishoku-kai is up to by now. btw: last missing ingredient = penguin drool .... wtf? :D |
| Yeah, that penguin drool was unexpected haha. I was like WTF?? at that scene. Seems like next ep everyone reunites and starts making monkey faces. O_o |

| Yeah by the end of the episode I wonder how much months (Years?) have actually been skipped now though. Penguin drool... well I guess better than chopping up his cute little friend to put him in the soup, I thought that was gonna happen for a second there xD |
| I was laughing so hard at the last ingrediant thing. I was like "...wait what? WHAT?! you gotta be joking!" That's one way to surprise your audience~ xD I wonder if komatsu's gonna tell everyone what the secret ingrediant is~ But i cant wait for the next episode. | I wonder whether they'll change the OP next episode. On that topic: When I heard the present OP for the first time I thought "WTF?" and the next two episodes I skipped it. Then I listened to it once again and it actually got better and better. Well, not the song itself, but I apart from being a somewhat pleasant hearing-experience I came to like it, because it think it really builds the right atmosphere for watching this show with it's strange background. (Gourmet-jidai, fighting for ingredients and stuff) IMHO presently there are very little shows that dare to depart from >>generic<< J-Pop, but Toriko was a somewhat pleasant exception. I wonder whether the next OP, be it from the next episode onward or later, will be as unique and as fitting to the show as the present one. What are your thoughts on this? |
| They might try to pull a One Piece by having the 1st opening last an obscene amount of time. They might want to keep the theme song memorable, since it's based on the OP song after all. |
