THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
And so, Sabrac bites the dust, yet he never lost the fight against Rebecca, Wilhelmina, and Kamshin. I guess you could say he allowed himself to be killed by the snake...but DAMN if he didnt put on a beating against 3 of the strongest flame hazes without effort.
I never thought I would end up doing this but when I saw Fecor's last minute save of the God Gate I actually cheered, man at this point Bal Masque or Flame Hazes, I dont care who wins they are both great.
As for the Shana vs Yuji battle...well Shana did a lot better this time around, in a way its refreshing to see "power of love" not being a complete game breaker since Yuji's plans are still going smoothly.

Simply Amazing episode. The way Sabrac fought actualy made me cheer for him. Damn I even wanted him to kill Kamshin xD That would be fun :) Sabrac has my vote of one of most awesome dark characters and one of best deaths so far. Then we finally saw God of Creation properly animated in it's full glory. Pretty damn impressive i must say.
Shana vs Yuji even tho it was very short fight, it was purely awesome. Shana did a lot better this time so I can't wait untill final confrontation. And that kiss in the cheek... sooo sweet :)

This time God of Creation arrived in his full power. I can't wait to hear all details about his plan. Somebody freeze me for one week please :P

Sabrac was super strong and all but he did seem to drag on for a while. I liked the character but it just seemed like he was there forever and couldn't die and then finally does out of nowhere.

How about that Sophie Sawallisch kick?

I liked this episode but things should've went differently for Sabrac.
I mean, what a pathetic way to die... Herpderp fireball girl fatal blow guy who seemed to do fine until a few seconds ago.

He could've surved it if he wanted to, he just chose not to because he finally found the answer to the only thing he ever wanted to know. You could say he was "satisfied" and no longer felt like living.

I guess that's true but it had little to no impact to me. The buildup to his death wasn't that interesting I guess...

Yuji looks a bit more mature with his front hair free. Or maybe that was only bacause of blood on his face...

Daaaamn, the Snake sure looks awesome. But the scene lacked a bit - IMO it would be better to make it more like Dark Srar appearence in Slayers Try, with dark gravity effect (when everything darkens a bit and people suffer from spiritual pressure, prodused by such an awesome presence - looks like gravity becomes stronger and everyone is forced down).

You could also call it reiatsu crash, like what we see in Bleach.

I think that would add to epicness.

Sabrac was badass, but i expected a more heated end.
Still his final thoughts and death itself were decent. They kind of helped me understand him more. But that probably was all for the intensification of the Snake`s awesomness - to show us that such a badass is actually just a worm before the God of Creation.

It's like those sayings. You can say I am big or small, but in front of god we're all the same.

Also amazing stubborness isn't it.
Yuuji has listened to the snake's great purpose and joined in.
Shana in the other hand, she doesn't even start asking the details about what the hell is that plan and only think it will be bad. Someone she trusted has thought the plan will work, so why not stop for a while and try to consider it before deciding what to do ?

So one of my shana favorite characters bites the dust eh? can't say i didn't see it coming infact i've known it was gonna happen because i accidently stumbled upon spoilers on the interwebz. It was still nice Seeing it animated R.I.P Sabrac.
Took on three flame hazes at once and made it look easy.

That Aside good episode, Seeing the God of Creation finally appear was truly a spectacular sight makes me anxious to see next week's episode, Let's keep it real til then my fellow SnS Fans!

Well not really.
At first Shana thought that Yuji was controlled by the snake of the festival and she fought with the purpose of saving him. the more they interacted with each other the more Shana realised that Yuji wasn't controlled but doing it out of his own will.

Shana is the only flame haze that do not bear hatred toward the tomogara but care for the ideal of protecting the balance of the world.
Shana want Yuji to walk her path while Yuji want Shana to walk his path.
Both want to protect the people dear to them.

What Yuji try to acheive will lead the world in chaos, probably destroying things Shana hold dear and will shake the world's balance like it never did before endangering the whole world in the process.
Yuji want a world where he will be able to live with Shana without fearing to be killed the next day, a world where he could age with her and makes a family, a peacefull world that is currently impossible to get.

Shana on the otherhand wish to stay with Yuji to protect the world balance, she want to be in a world where they'll be together without sacrifying things that aren't theirs for that purpose. She has a very strong sense of justice that support her attitude. As she does not bear hatred for tomogara no matter what people label as 'good' or 'bad' she will be the sole and only judge about it and will act according to her feeling.
Basically a "The end justify the means" vs "The end doesn't justify the means''.

Flame haze are being that are born from hatred and impose their own sense of justice on the world. Tomogara are being that feed on humans because it's the natural way the world work, not because of hatred for human.
I never had any empathy for the Flame haze side except Shana.

So that kind of sounds like the whole thing where Yuji would basically say he's doing it for her (very selfishly), but it's not what she wants. It's like killing a person just to show his/her love for him/her. Just fucked up.

Honestly, this explanation actually calmed me down. I was kind of pissed at how things were in the episode. I dunno... just how I felt...

I don't know she beat on those Rinne maids and every other tomogara quite relentlessly. You may not call that hatred, however how do you define that as being different compared to any other flame haze who has fought thus far.

So she gives a kiss, to show her vow. One sided maybe but that just shows how serious she is. This is hard to watch for I hate to see them on opposite sides. Though I can't stop watching, this season is getting better and better.

Sabrac fight makes completely 0 sense. It's just pure action-porn to me.

Firstly, why was Khamsin soloing against Sabrac while the other 2 simply watched on?
Second, how the fuck did Sabrac get so damn strong? To survive a stomp the magnitude of Qadesh completely unscathed is simply too insane.
Third, this isn't the first time they are fighting Sabrac, so they oughta know that frontal direct attacks hardly works against him. And they also oughta know that he can be easily crushed if you separate his "head" from his "body" a la season 2. If Khamsin can use Qadesh's seal to form a golem, why the fuck can't Khamsin just remove all the ground from r around Sabrac?
Fourth, his death was way too dramatised. I bet someday he'll have his own side-story.
Oh and btw I think he'll be coming back for more. That's one bad guy they will want to keep bringing back if all their new ideas are of the camel-illusionist and lion-trumpeter standards. Especially when Fecor and Decarabia are both dead.

Speaking of Decarabia, I've seen enough of Chidori-stream-powered falcon kicks coming from this epic fail nun who doesn't friggin know how to launch another strike after her first failed. What a friggin hell huge plot hole. Fecor died blocking 1 single kick. No one bothered to make any effort for a follow-up attack(which would've completely knocked the gate from the skies).

I was still quite put off by Shana's flame-haze-sided decision made last episode, but at least in this episode Yuji and Shana managed to make a good point together. That is, to wait and hear what the Yuji's Grand Order has in store before doing anything rash. Shana's vow-kiss was an icing on the cake I think, since it directly shows her love for Yuji and her willingness to wait things out before slicing everything into bacon strips.

All in all, I really hope in the end Shana puts down her sword after listening to Yuji's(hopefully rational and sensible) Grand Order and joins him.

Kinda felt bad for Sabrac dying there, I mean I disliked him a lot but it's kinda sad now. But wow Shana VS Yuji was too short but yet so epic, she kissed him zomfg! (girlish scream) finally! I honestly have no idea how J.C is gonna fill up the next 11 episodes, but I'm REALLY excited!

Guze no tomogara makes pact with human that got their life destroyed by tomogara offering them power to fight against them (with the excuses of protecting the world's balance)
Of course theses Flame haze may lives hundred of years afterward so it might just happen that they can get over this hatred but they very mostly do not forgive tomogara for any reason.

On the other hand Shana was raised to become a Flame haze, she has been taught that the world balance should not get messed with because it could endanger the whole world in the process.
Shana fight and kill tomogara and rinne because they obviously mess with this balance and not because she hate them. If she see a tomogara that do not disrupt the balance then she will pay him as much respect as any human and could go as far as protecting him from other Flame Haze, while most Flame Haze would go for his neck just because he is a tomogara.

Well Imo it's a little selfish but then everything in the world that the general opinion does not agree could be labelled as selfish.
Yuji ultimately want a world where this whole Flame Haze vs Tomogara circle does not exist, he want a peacefull world like the one he was in before getting throw in all this mess. Of course he does it with the intention of being with Shana and he don't actually care about others peopel but it will still affect them.

Shana could also be called selfish because she want to walk HER way, but then everyone in the world is selfish so why even bother labelling someone one?

My guess is that he plan to use the Snake of the festival's power to completely separate Guze and the real world and to send all tomogara that are currently in the real world back into Guze. That way Flame Haze will not be able to receive power from the tomogara in Guze and these same tomogara won't be able to treepass into te real world.

you also think the snake of the festival much bigger now then the time he was released from the seal?

Because they were already injured by stigma, that spell only continues making injuries bigger and it greatly weakens their combat ability. Really, they would've only been in the way if they tried to jump in.

Did you even watch season 2? In fact you just answered your own question on your next point.

Did you watch the last episode? Everything you asked here was answered there. They already tried that in episode 12, and it didnt work because this time around Sabrac's body was the only thing keeping the ground they were fighting on together. They would've been thrown off into the nothingness of the abyss if they continued to separate his sides. Also Kamshin used his ceremonial robe from the pieces of rubble that have been slowly breaking off Sabrac's body throughout the entire fight, it was a 1 time deal since they already explained that Kamshin is unable to completely separate the ground from Sabrac's body.

I think there was one in the novels, im not too sure.

Did you stop to think that maybe Sophie had already exhausted pretty much all her energy from that attack? Remember that when she kicked Decarabia out her contractor told her "didn't you use too much energy in that attack?" Its shows that pulling off that move really drains her, and the one she pullled against the gate was arguably even more potent. As for the other flame hazes? well, I wont deny that point.

Well, first of all, she is probably one of the most powerful Flame Haze out there. The reason all the others pretty much submit to formation fighting instead of flying around initiating a lot of 1 on 1 battles is probably because their power level is closer to "foot soldier" than the other Flame Haze we've seen so far.

Not only that, but they have all been fighting this battle for quite a while. Who knows how tired they are?

Also, I think even if Sophie didn't exhaust all her energy yet, doing the same kick upwards while falling down is probably impossible for her.

To add to that, there is probably -very- little time between her failed kick and the snake coming out of the gate. In anime and movies, scenes that follow each other often happen at the same time. There used to be a cool The Matrix vid on youtube demonstrating this in the Lobby Shootout scene, by showing Neo and Trinity on the screen at the same time instead of one after the other. So it is possible that nobody had time to react after Sophie's failed kick.

I also agree the reason Khamsin was soloing was because he was the only one not wounded. As soon as he got just a little cut the other two joined in, since sparing themselves became pointless at that point.

Damn it, Sophie must die!
And Sabrac should of at least killed one of them, they each came out with one wound and he was defeated? Hes stronger than that...

Sabrac was not defeated.
Sabrac always was more powerfull than anyone and didn't knew the meaning of fear and jealousy.
Long ago there was a woman he fell in love with but she went away from him because of envy, something that he couldn't understand as he never felt it.
When Sabrac saw the Snake of the festival he felt these emotion for the very first time. He understood fear and he also understood jealously.
He knows the reason why his beloved went away from him and he aknowledge it. This jealously make him unable to stay with and serve the Snake of the festival the same way the woman he loved was unable of staying with him.

Sabrac is a very old denizen, the sole reason he was still living was to get answer to his most important question: Why did she leave me?
To him living is torture, the only reason he was bearing with it was to get the answer to his question.
At the moment Sabrac wasn't thinking about killing anyone, to him the whole meaning of his life was fullfiled and doing anything else would be meaningless to him.
Once he understood why, he chosed to end his life.

Good episode; still can't sympathize with the Flame Hazes at all. Like others i really don't like the nun; to me she should just die. Also some Flame Haze's better start dying otherwise it will really turn out to be the kind of show where all the "good" people live and all the bad die; i figured since it was a war setting it wouldn't have that but until at least one notable (shown a few times at the very least) Flame Haze dies then it remains to be seen.

Another thing is the reasoning behind Shana's new "reason" to fight is way to shallow; the love confession last episode was nice, the little half vow was touching as well but that aside her reason is to defeat him just so they can create a different "path" which she approves of? That's nothing more than a difference of opinion with no justification, its just like "i disagree with you... while i have no solid standing on why i do; it just seems wrong so i do". While it has yet to be said I'm fairly sure its safe to assume Yuji has an actual plan for his fighting while Shana is "I'm going to defeat you and figure it out later"... it seems way to shallow just like the rest of the Flame Haze's.

I suppose that's one of the reason's i don't like the nun is because she seems to be a stubborn fool who is one of the reason's there hasn't been any conclusion to what has been a never ending war and as such it seems that that stubbornness has rubbed off on Shana in the wrong way. Well it will be interesting to see what Grand Order Yuji speaks off and how they react to it; if the pattern continues they will reject it without thought. After all its not like they will simply see eye to eye and leave the second half of the show to nothing.

Urusai urusai urusai? That's why she doesn't ask, she doesn't like her perspective of things being changed, that's a high percentage of her shouting shut up shut up shut up, the rest is from embarrassment of her feelings. She is a flame haze and yuuji is a naive mystes.

So she gives a kiss, to show her vow. One sided maybe but that just shows how serious she is. This is hard to watch for I hate to see them on opposite sides. Though I can't stop watching, this season is getting better and better.

They are kind of on the same side, they would not kill each other, only harm, Yuji wants to make her incapable of fighting so he can persuade her, shana wants to shut him up and persuade him. They both want the same thing in a way but they have different paths of doing so.

Are you sure Yuji is the naive one and not Shana?

I'm not even sure the God thing really matters since all the apparently unbeatable beings are vanquished by weak Flame Hazes one after the other in this series. It seems like this God will die a pathetic death just like the others without any logical explanation. Also, the characters are clearly not developing at the moment like you pointed out but regressing which is a bit unheard of in an anime. Of course the fights are really nice and the animation pretty cool but I don't even understand what's happening on screen anymore, nothing makes sense in this last season.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.
