My friends and I usually watch comedy animes together, such as FMP Fumoffu or Gintama.
What genres or specific animes do you like to watch with a group of friends?

Yeah, comedies, whether they are goofy like Great Teacher Onizuka or dark like Welcome to the NHK, seem to be the best to watch with friends. Or shows with a lot of action.
Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone.

Definitely comedy. I used to watch Gintama with my roommate, makes it more enjoyable. Episodic stuff works better, as he would be able to tune in whenever. I was also made to watch shoujo with my girlfriend at the time, but it doesn't really change the experience.

... It has to be one that captures a lot attention. You know, a more drama-y, plot-driven anime. When you're watching a long and slow anime with someone else, it seems even longer and slower. And boring. Especially if it's with a friend who isn't as obsessed with anime as I am. (... Well, none of them are at my level of addiction, but still.)

Definitely never a slice of life, unless I know that my friend absolutely loves it. Which I don't think any of them do.

Also, I found out that comedy is more funny to me when I'm watching it with someone else. I never laugh at anime when I'm alone-- but I do it constantly when I'm watching with a friend.

Death Note is probably my favorite to watch with other people. I had a lot of fun introducing my friend to Death Note, enough so that I didn't even mind that I was rewatching it. I loved seeing her reactions, too. > w < Haha, we covered 17 episodes in the first day~

My friends don't really watch anime, but I'm sure if they did it would probably be comedy. Something funny to keep everyone's attention. If it's dramatic we would probably find ways to make fun of it.

Watched School Days with a group of friends, made the anime watchable. Other times it would be comedy anime like GTO.

Yep. That's exactly why I put Strike Witches into my friends Xbox during a system link party of sorts. It was a disaster waiting to happen.

I hate watching anime with friends.
I have a pet peeve against anyone saying one word while I'm trying to watch something, which is usually what happens if I try to watch a show with anyone.

The only person I ever watched anime with was my mother.

Usually comedy or one with a lot of actions.
Definitely not those with slight drags (romance, slice of life), I would prefer to watch those by myself :)

Comedy Definitely, I have looked anime several times with my friends and becomes much more fun (although it may take longer to see them) because when something key, or very funny, we pause, and make comments, you can look like something very annoying, but we had fun, laughing or just exchanging opinions.

The exception was with a friend, we watch Death Note, it was great, because I was in favor of L and Kira him, so imagine how our views clashed as the episodes progressed. Quite a spectacle.

Last (hopefully, not be the last of all) was the Haruhi movie, one of my friends have difficulty reading fast and had interest in seeing the movie, but its longevity, plus the fact that they do not have much time to read the subtitles, made life impossible, so I decided to read it for him (me, when I read the subtitle try to imitate the mood of the characters to make it more enjoyable, he said, I do it well), it was very fun, no doubt, does not happen every day.

Although it seems it is something I used to do, are situations that are almost by accident but rather to be enjoyed.

Never really watched any anime SERIES with friends, but all the Studio Ghibli movies I've seen have been with friends. You know "Hey, I just downloaded Tales from the Earthsea, wanna come watch it some day?" They make such lovely movies.

If I was to watch some Anime series with friends, it would not be ecchi, slice of life, romance or anything serious. That would shred the atmosphere to small dust.

All my friends (the ones who watch anime, at least) won't move past Naruto and refuse to watch anything else. Needless to say, I don't watch anime with my friends.

I will watch close to anything with my sister though. Ouran was probably the most fun to watch.

I hate watching with people if they make noise. It has to be quiet, and even then there are only a few anime I would want to watch with people around.

Cowboy Bebop. Um...lets see...Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Darker than Black, Redline, and maybe a few more. Mostly anything that has very little moments of "guilty pleasures."

Though most of my friends don't really approve of watching Anime (Ayase from OreImo), I watch some with my sister, or cousins. There are definitely things that are blacklisted such as ecchi. Things that we watch would be something like Monster, Death Note, Steins;Gate, because its interesting to talk about, and then something casual like Baka And Test or School Rumble. Anything too serious wouldn't be interesting, since you're with someone else.

Things that you probably shouldn't watch when you people have over.

    Clannad
    Romance
    Ecchi
    Too much Fan service
Unless it's with guys or girls that prefer action, don't do hardcore action
Thrillers unless you know both of you will finish it.
Slice of Life, definitely. Don't think it would fit when having other people over.

Always some episodes of comedies which kind of works well since we have similar senses of humor. Always makes the shows even funnier somehow.

The first was FMP: Fumoffu, then Gintama and more recently Nichijou.

Comedy mostly. I watched K-ON with two of my friends and they have a love/hate relationship with it. I find that if I try to watch more serious anime with my friends, we just end up talking through the whole thing and missing most of what happened.

I don't really watch anything of a specific genre as long as they're appropriate for them.

And if you ask me, I usually watch it with kids since I'm still pretty [TOO] young to hang out with the grown... OH, I think I can! I have a couple of grown people as my best friends but I hardly ever watch anime with them.
