| I lol-ed at the end of this chapter. It think it seems really good. It has a very good beginning. Interesting concept and I love the characters! Comparing it to Death Note seems silly because they are completely different genres, but I hope it does even a fraction of as well as DN did. It'll make a funny anime too.. possibly. |

| The only way Bakuman is going to grab me is to have it follow them through Middle,High school and there mangaka career. So I want them to at least be 27 or 28 when the manga is done. If it stays popular I see it being at least 10 volumes!!! |
| this has already become one of my favorite manga. It's not really the story that I find so interesting. it's the characters. I forgot all their names already though. |
| Great start, I'm really interested to see where they take this plot line. Like the character designs so far, especially Moritaka's uncle (He looks like a fun dude :D ) Takagi Agito's design reminds me a bit of Mikami from DN, but with an entirely different personality. Moritaka's facial expressions towards the end are frigging hilarious. |
| When I first saw this, I didn't even give it my time due to the story concept. It sounded like the standard story a la Comic Party, but I decided to read it. Glad I did, I loved the first chapter thus far and the art is done so well! I was weirded out reading it with the references to the notebook being a Death Note and even staring at Takagi thinking "he reminds me of Light...". Reading the posts here I thought "THAT'S WHY"! XD Didn't care for the creators others works, but I certainly enjoyed this and will be reading more. I really enjoyed finding out his crush wanted to be a voice actress and the proposal at the end. Loved it! |

| The whole manga author/artist thing is good, but because I'm teaching Japanese kids lately, I've seen for myself all the bullshit stress Japan puts on its kids. The education system really does suck donkey balls here, and its like the big corporations control key universities. Its so messed up that it all depends on what university you go to, if you want a really good job later down the line. And all kids are doing is memorizing shit for tests, not actually learning. Hopefully Bakuman will inspire kids to give the system the middle finger. |

| Glad I finally decided to start reading this, couldn't wait any longer and after the first chapter I'm loving it already, the artwork is great =] but a thought ran through my head when I read the part about they can only e-mail I mean is there a possibility that Azuki's mom was the person who the MC's uncle had loved and sent letters with =/? Maybe I'm just thinking to much though. |

| Another entry from the anime that made me want to read the manga, I got a better view of it before reading and what I like about this is, unlike your typical story this one is like a history about mangaka and manga's started off in square-one, and you won't get bored reading plain description as always *Wow even the Authors both co-relate to the story Obata, Takeshi (Art) = Mashiro Ohba, Tsugumi (Story) = Takagi |

| Love the Death Note references lol. It's sort of interesting how shallow their motivations seem to be. One wants to impress a girl and the other wants to get rich and look cool. I wonder if that will change, because I doubt anybody could ever become a successful mangaka without extreme passion. |
| I loved the anime adaptation, and the manga looks just as promising! The references were amusing, and Obata's artstyle is sooo beautiful :3 One thing I really disliked is the relationship between Saiko and Azuki, it's like something from shoujo for kids >_< But the rest of the story should be fantastic, so I won't complain too much... |

| So I just started reading it and it was very interesting i really enjoyed reading the first chapter and it was very funny I just realized that being a mangaka would be hard•• I feel bad for his uncle that overworked or commit suicide:< This chapter was actually very long but I really enjoyed reading it so I hope this will be a good manga^^ |

| after long time, decided to get back to this manga, after watching the anime 3 times also xD ohba sure knows how to create funny situations, the funniest for me when mashiro told takagi "are you confessing to to right person?" xD obata's art little different than i remember, but then again, when i watched the anime at the first time, i sensed something strange about the animation, their eyes supposed to be bigger, obata's drawing rocks. lol the DN references as well xD |
