Legend of the Strongest Man Kurosawa - Useless and pathetic old men finally putting up a stand against their oppressors, fighting for their dignity and pride.

The Ravages of Time - Three Kingdoms warfare in ancient China. Manly generals like Lu Bu, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei etc.

Jormungand - Similar to Black Lagoon.

Priest - Brutal fights against the undead. Somewhat like a cross between Hellsing and Berserk.

Am I the only one that thinks Slam Dunk should be added?

I mean, if Team Sports are included in manly subjects, and SD is one of the very best Team Sports manga/anime, I think it fits.

Blaster Knuckle.

It's pretty much Berserk set in the 19th century American South. With Gutts as a black boxer who punches demons.

Beelzebub- cause it's fucking hilarious and awesome.

I don't think I saw Beelzebub added yet, but it deserves its place here. Raising the Demon Lord's baby is pretty goddamn badass! And just now in episode 5 Oga was again teaching Baby Beel how to be a real man (and he left an impression of his fist in an 8 mm iron plate, too).

Something manly about it is like asking to post something hot about the sun. Here's a trailer that should give an indication.

As a manly man with a burning spirit, I was appalled that I did not see Kintaro Oe anywhere on your list of manly men in anime.

The reason I nominate Kintaro is a very simple reason, he is a man who carved out his own way of life. While all the other Tokyo Daigaku students were going to class and allowing "The Man" to deem them as intellectuals, Kintaro said "FUCK THAT! I'M GOING TO BE A STUDENT OF LIFE!" And so he did. Kintaro now travels Japan in search of his own way of life, rather than succumb to the "mass produced lifestyle" that others have decided to live.

Waga na wa Umishi

It's about manly men and manly women doing manly stuff, risking their lives at sea.

I just noticed he isn't on the list. He really should be.

What about this one: http://myanimelist.net/anime/6162/Tailenders

It's about a guy whose heart is replaced with an engine of his own racing car. Manly.

And new season of Kaiji is being aired now. You should add it too.

Something obviously missing is Kinnikuman here. I mean come on MUSCLEMAN. The story about a loser superhero's way of becoming a true hero. Enough said!

Kiymasa Senji - He sheds around 10 liters of blood and still beats up the enemy.
Rider aka Iskander. Ep11 from Fate/Zero should explain why. click for reference

Uhm.. don't get me wrong, she's much more badass and studly than even many MEN, but still, I gotta ask - what's Revy doing on the list?

Just because she's a woman does not disallow her from being on the list. She is a woman, but commits acts that are far more manly then many men. Being manly does not mean that you have to be a man, otherwise there would be no female members in this club. However, that is not the case. After all it is wo-man, and thus, women have the potential to be rather manly as well.

Guy Shishio - He's pretty much the paragon of hot-blooded heroism. Surprised he isn't on the list already.

Noriko Takaya - One of the most badass and manly female characters of all time. Hell, she's practically who Simon was based off of.

Tetsuya Tsurugi - Kind of surprised about this, too, considering Kouji's on the list. I haven't actually watched Great Mazinger or Mazinkaiser yet, but he seems to be even manlier than Kouji himself.

Domon Kasshu - ... and this. He's the freaking King of Hearts. The man who gave us SHINING FINGERRRRR with the HELP OF KYOJIIIIIIIIIII! The man who, with his badass master (who had a broken arm) uppercutted a skyscraper into the air. Additionally, Master Asia, for the aforementioned reason.

Harry Ord - The dude's a calm, loyal badass who still manages to be hot blooded. Hell, Ratsel Feinschmecker is an expy of him, for pete's sake.

Klein Sandman - I see 'White Steel Fang' and 'Gravion' but no Sandman? This is blasphemy. The dude's a freaking billionaire otaku with a giant robot who's also a hilarious GIANT HAM.

Hayato Jin - He and Musashi are the only members of the classic Getter Team that haven't been added, and I know somebody suggested Musashi earlier. I mean, in order to pilot the Getter, you're pretty much REQUIRED to be manly as hell. Unless you're the Armageddon Shin Getter team.

Having watched more Souten Kouro...

The first eight or nine episodes were focused on Cao Cao and were pretty damn good. But it has been a MESS since then. I like lightning attacks in Sengoku Basara, but when they're going for a brutal and gritty approach in Souten Kouro having Lu Bu fly about with lightning flying out of him and having a smoke dragon explode from when he dies looks really stupid. Not to mention half the characters look like monkeys with missing teeth. It also became incredibly boring with Cao Cao as a background character.

It is not manly, it is terrible. As the one who initially suggested it, I can safely say that it can be removed.

Hmm... Souten Kouro might be stupid indeed, but that should not be a reason to dismiss RoTK characters. There are by far better adaptions of it, and I think it is easily on par with LoGH myself. Some of the DW games have fairly good story modes and historical info and the 2010 live-action series is great. I don't really know what the best anime/manga adaption is though. The real story is without a doubt filled with men of honor, power and wit alike.

And yeah, a late response, but just wanted to say that people shouldn't dismiss the epic based on some crappy, loosely based anime adaptions.

I've got a few:

Anime:
http://myanimelist.net/anime/1468/Baoh_Raihousha/ - It's from Hirohiko Araki (the creator of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure), so you know what to expect.

Characters:
http://myanimelist.net/character/2751/Edward_Newgate - Pretty much everything he does in the Marineford arc is one big moment of sheer badassery.
http://myanimelist.net/character/8077/Geist - Sure, MD Geist may have been a bad anime, but there's no denying that this guy is a beast.

BTW, I was wondering if we should suggest manga add-ons on this thread now. I think it would probably be more convenient to have them all here instead of being separate on the thread I made a few weeks ago.
