Very-very nice recovery. I was beginning to worry about this series a bit because I felt things were turning very filler-ish; however, this episode has a lot of depth. Conrad and Tybalt make their return finally. I was missing Conrad in all honesty, Willy too~! xD Hearing about Montague was a real wake up call, it was nice to see such a thing. I know the previous episode seemed to hint at Mercutio killing his father, but I didn't see it coming from Montague till he started getting that weird look. Hermione seemed to disappear off the face of the planet, and Romeo's still trying to get his secret base up it seems. xD

Anyway, major plus is that the animation doesn't look as messed up as the previous episode. Also, lots of feeling that very much pulled a person in. *Thumbs up*

I really liked this episdoe, but I really hated it.

17 really brings up the quality that were the last 3 or so eps and introduces more about Tybalt, which everyone loves. Tybalt being Montague's bastard son and inheriting his temperament is one of the only good changes I've seen Gonzo make to the original story so far. But the part of I can't stand is the other half of this ep. Gonzo has gone of the deep end with Mercitio, they've changed him so much for the worse. To see my favorite Shakespeare character taken away from his wit, charm, class, recklessness, and mercurial attitude, and placed into a character who seeks power and bows at the feet of his father's murderer, is almost a sin against God.

Agreed xD;;

Tybalt totally stole Mercutio's awesomeness. xD what a switch eh?

But TYBALT!!!!! *___* <3 ZOMG I love every image of him in this ep! Lazy/relaxed, about to kill his "parent" pissed off and ready to murder the first thing that flies by. *__* wooo passionate emotion = <3

but yea Mercutio is sucking in the anime =/

Slowly, slowly catching up...

I hated this episode. Well, not entirely, but the out-of-nowhere backstory on Montague was seriously lame. And Romeo making his own little commune for misunderstood ex-cons? And they're all "yay Romeo, you're awesome, we luvs u!" PUH-lease.

Tybalt, on the other hand...hot.

Some polar opinions about this episode, it seems, haha. I actually liked it, especially hearing the backstory for Tybalt, and actually finally learning why the Duke hates the Capulets so much... ._o He's not even a real Montague. FAIL.

Romeo's little... "Let's go build our own village!" thing was kind of lame. It's going to take time to grow crops. What are they going to eat in the meantime? Even those rock-hard potatoes will run out quickly.

Juliet's calm composition was kind of refreshing. It's nice to see how far she's come.

So they're all just one big, happy, dysfunctional family. How sweet.

So in retrospect… Romeo and Juliet are related? Wait everyone’s related? And they’re all somehow from the house of Capulet? haha reminds me of a soap opera, except better :D. At least the plot is moving along.

So...Tybalt is like Romeo's step brother and Juliet's 'cousin'.
Then what the hell does that make Romeo and Juliet? In that case they might be related.

Hm well..I like how this is going...Montague is scaaary.

Yes, Romeo and Juliet may in fact be related. But it depends of who from the Capulet house was Montague's father. They're probably just distantly related but who cares?

Well, this was a nice episode. One of the best in this series. I love Tybalt and I like how Juliet maintained her composure during the entire episode. Finally. She acted really wired for a few episodes but now I'm starting to like her again. This anime presents us with really inconsistent character development. Nonetheless, it was nice to see the backstory of Tybalt and the Duke.

No Tybalt is Romeo's half brother and Romeo and Juliet and Tybalt are all cousins
Even when I was in crowd, I was always alone

Hooray, some background on Prince Montague and Tybalt! Some of it was pretty cliche, but I enjoyed it, anyway.

Hope the quality stays at this or picks up as the series wraps up. I still miss my Red Whirlwind, though. :/

This episode was wow. I loved it, but it upset me at the same time. It reminded me why I loved this show so much towards the beginning, although I must say we have digressed farther still from the original story. Mercutio upsets me, he's nothing but a pot-stirrer. This was deep and terrible but also sort of beautiful. As an aside, did anyone else notice that Montague is his father? They pointed out that Tybalt (who I now feel for) was Montague, but I think the cycle definitely started before that.

Tybalt would be Romeo's half-brother, also maybe a double-cousin, although I just made that term up, Juliet is also a cousin, which hadn't occurred to me until just now... :(
I would argue that Montague is cracked.
Also, because we are already on Shakespeare and I can't resist, you could say Romeo and Tybalt are "More than kin but less than kind" :)

Boy, this is darker than I remember. I had completely forgotten about Montague's past. It explains why his hatred runs so deep for the Capulet family, as he sees their very existence as a wrongdoing against him. The parallel between him and Tybalt was really well done, especially when it transitions between both of them turning around in fury.

I thought this episode was okay, I dunno better than some but I wasn't paying full attention so maybe that's why I didn't like it as much as I should have.

I read the play and saw the movie and don't remember any of Montague's past being that :/

Poor Tybalt!
