Yes I actually do. Sometimes seeing the amazing lives of characters, fun experiences, and near-perfect female characters I seem to feel aggravated because I know that most of these don't actually exist. Its easier to be happy with what one has than to be chasing after something you can never achieve.

Yes when I finish an anime that I really really liked, I get quite depressed, can last from a couple days to weeks.

Mirai Nikki lasted 2 weeks.
Spice and Wolf 1 week
Steins Gate 2 days
Sakurasou was the latest one, 3 days ago and still feeling slightly depressed ;l

not at all. i do cry when something is dramatic but i usually just start loving the anime and character a lot more because if something can make me cry i guess i guess it gets dear to me very fast.
like when my favorite characters die it doesn't depress me it just makes me realize how awesome they are. and i can always re-watch anime and see them again.
also i like my anime as fricked up as possible so it doesn't depress me when it comes to series that show you how 'horrible planet earth and all it's inhabitants are'.

I find with the good anime you get really attached to the character and their feelings almost become yours. It's hard to explain I guess. So I can be really upset if let's say somebody doesn't end up with the person I wanted or somebody dies. (One time somebody I liked in Naruto died and I actually cried for 5 minutes) It also depresses me when I finish an amazing series and I want to keep watching but you just have to accept the fact there is no way you can. But when short, good anime end on a cliffhanger and they think that's okay,( like Kaichou wa maid sama or Fruits basket) that just pisses me off more than it depresses me. I know Fruits Basket went bankrupt, but I don't see an excuse for maid sama! They could have made a second season considering everyone loved it, but nooooo. I just finished that show today and was very depressed when I watched the last episode. I guess only people who have seen a lot of anime will understand.

Pretty sure 20% of my mental health issues comes from watching NGE as a 10 year old. I love anime/manga that makes me feel strong emotions though, feels liberating.

I was so depressed after Shigatsu ended well I cried even before it ended. Almost always cry when favourite character dies and you are left feeling indifferent towards the rest of the characters.

Not at all, even if it's sad I cry for a little bit and then move on. I don't really get depressed over fiction.

Only time I felt depressed was when I watched Grave of the Fireflies. That movie now sits at my least favorite movies of all time. If I really enjoyed an anime series I can feel some withdraw after it's over especially if it takes some time to find another series I really enjoy.

did you ever find the series that really make their fans deppressed until complain everywhere, on any site, and make thread in any forum, and spoiled it to anyone? gintama fans here.

Yeah you dwell for a bit than you just move on to the next, Very few anime can leave a strong impression that you reflect upon.

So far only a few still give me the feels when I think about them.

I get a little depressed when a really awesome anime ends, especially, if in the end, the protagonist dies. The ending might be awesome that way, but for a few hours after finishing the anime, I get bored and try to watch as many comedy anime episodes as I can.

Ie Naki Ko (the adaptation of Sans Famille) at the moment.

My soul is having hard times to not crush completely and I haven't even finished it. Fun fact it was a children-oriented show. Guess the anime-standards have changed that much since then.

That anime was incredibly sad, one of the best I've seen really. Never would I have thought that some frigging animals would have even better characterization than most humans and get that emotional. It truly shows you how you can make someone cry naturally without the need of excessive melodrama or grand scale mourning.

To be honest, most of the anime targetted towards children were far better than the anime targetted towards teenagers and adults today (that I've watched of course). I really miss the World Masterpiece Theater.

Anime really takes me seriously sometimes. It gets me stressed till it keep replaying the scene over & over until I can't eat & sleep. Unless IF any show is a comedy genre, I wouldn't have a problem with that. That was my life is all about.

I get depressed over different things:
1. If it is a good series, I get depressed if the next season is cancelled.
2. If it is a good series, I get depressed if it ends on a cliffhanger so that it forces you to read the manga or play the game or something. I HATE promotional anime arghhh.
3. If it is a good series, and my fave character dies for NO REASON, I dismiss myself from the screen to go and cry in a corner for a month.
4. If it was a good series and then there is a wtf ending......(T_T")

It's been a long time since I got depressed while watching or after finishing an anime. It happened a lot more when I first started watching but after a while I found it more difficult to find a show that truly resonated with me on an emotional level.

I know Texhnolyze and School Days left me depressed for a few days. Aria the Origination was also pretty evil in that regard. You spend 3 seasons seeing all these wonderful characters having adventures and slowly growing up and then you realize that it's coming to an end and that there are no episodes left. I felt quite empty afterwards.

R2 wasn't sad to me since if my memory is right, Lelouch is supposed to be double-immortal, I guess.
So I'm just here patiently waiting for something after Akito the Exiled....

Anime can depress me, but so can other things. I think putting too much time and energy into any one thing can create negative and depressive feelings. It's called getting "burnt out."

I recently took a long break from anime, and at first it was hard to just pull away from it and substitute my time with gaming instead, but I'm glad I did, because when I went back to anime again, it's like I got refreshed. It became like the first day I first watched an anime all over again. Sometimes breaks / intermissions can be the best thing for getting the overall joy of something (like anime) back! :3

no no, the opposite, I'm regularly depressed, and watching anime REALLY helps lift my mood, doesn't matter how bad the anime is, unless it's REALLY REALLY BAD, or people are being mean to lolis...unless they are evil lolis, then it's okay.

When watching a sad anime I can get into a post-anime depression phase, like i did with angel beats.

But it only lasts for 1-2 days thankfully
