I'm currently looking for niche gore mangas from different decades for a paper I have to write but I would just like to interject with my thoughts on Shintaro Kago. In my opinion he is hilarious! If I could compare him to anyone it would be American author Chuck Palahniuk. Both introduce completely absurd ideas like having masturbating at the bottom of a pool or santa delivering a glut of vibrators and they just constantly add more and more to that idea until it's so overly graphic that it crosses the line into funny having to chew off your intestine because it's caught in the pool filter or girls sitting in a circle masturbating to show santa they're happy with the gifts. It's so damn ridiculous that I can't help but laugh and that's it's face value to me.
