Yes. it's just like when people use manga to mean Japanese comics even though the exact translation is "comic".

Yes, yes, yes, yes, ...huh? That last one caught me off guard. o_O

The last one has by far the best voice, even if her roles aren't as prominent. I'll watch any show she is in just for her amazingly cute voice.
No fuckin way. Her acting is freakin book reading.

Go go Hirano Aya. You know how to point your middle finger to the uptight corporate garbage of anime industry. I'm glad she placed on that list at all, seeing how scared of their companies voice actors are.
...My god. How can someone actually defend the way Hirano Aya acted on twitter.

even with some people missing from the top veterans, i also have to question some of the choices made for the young list, can someone who has had 3 roles in 2 animes (according to MAL) really be a top ten "notable" VA when there are many others to choose from?

Where's Hayashibara Megumi though? She was a heart and soul of 90ties anime, having written some and sang even more songs for that period of time. Wasnt she basically a 1st successful singing seiyuu? Thats one big bummer.

This. D:

;p I thought this would reduce complaints but I guess not.

Not bad; this list is a bit short though, and I thought would be more guys. It's alright. Romi is first!

Junko is great too.

There has been and will always be people who complains. People have diverse tastes and the top spot is limited.

PRetty much *Falls on back* What was I thinking?

Anyways, are they sure about Toyosaki and Subaru (new Ja'an)?

I didn't say her acting. I said her voice... not that I can tell if her acting is good or not since I don't know Japanese. All I know is that her voice is adorable and I can't get enough of it.

Well I guess it is all taste, but I personally think Omigawa has one of the worst voice actress ever. It is both voice + acting ability wise. She give too much power in her voice when it is not needed, over-exaggerate everything to make my ears bleed, kills atmosphere by having exact same voice and emotion in every single character she is involved, and most of all, the fact that she appears a lot in series from SHAFT.

Thus, I never ever expected her to be in the list of respective seiyuus, knowing her acting is atrocious.

I'm kind of surprised that Subaru Kimura is on there, however. He only has two roles, one of them being Kanba from Mawaru Penguindrum, which hasn't even finished airing. It must be because he other role is from Doraemon?

Yes, that's the one. The streaming site I watch says it's an CM to Doraemon because the TV channel that aired the show also shows Doraemon, and according to the show they talked how big is change of this "national" anime's seiyuu swap in 2005. (+ being 14 and 2nd role to get Giant. He had one role before getting it)
I Two Syaorans from Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and TRC!!!

Paku Romi?? Let's see..

*checks her voice acting roles*

What the. She voiced some male characters and what's funny is that I just finished watching Kaiba where she voiced Popo (a male character).

Pretty talented seiyuu.

Good to see Miyano there.

All questions about her #1 spot disappear once you realize that she voiced both EDWARD ELRIC (FMA), TERESA (Claymore) *and* OSAKI NANA (Nana).

That's some serious talent, believably voicing anything from a bullheaded boy to an ultrafeminine tranquil lady-knight beauty to a boisterous female punk rocker.

Rather funny how she falls just short of the age-40 criteria for young seiyuu and is HIGHLY likely to top the veteran-seiyuu list this time next year (the high points for veterans being due to a larger voting pool passing out the points).

...kinda strange how they claim everywhere she speaks fluent Korean but she never does Korean dubs of her own Japanese roles, though. Or is she too expensive for them to afford??

I personally never mind the personal life of seiyuu as long as they still can voice act...at least as good as usual. Industry pay them for their voices, not for their personal voice.

...

...

...

But why the hack I can't see Wakamoto there??? Blasphemy!!!

I've noticed that people in the industry from the past often have something against the whole moeblob culture of these days, so it wouldn't be a surprised that they dislike the current moeblob seiyuus too.

Sugita and Fukuyama are two of the most talented seiyuu, I believe. It's a pity.
