I really love how gilgamesh is portrayed in Fate/Zero as opposed to his original portrayal. Not only is his very presence much more godlike (thanks to the stunning animation alone), but his attitude REALLY suits him. The little character traits, like how he refuses to stand on the same ground as his opponents, really make him feel like more of some kind of god-emperor type. It really suits the character, and really fits with the original legend the character was based on. ![]() |
Holy Shit this episode was incredible. Now I believe all the hype this show has been getting lately. The animation is really top notch and everything was perfect in this episode. Hopefully it continues and it might even be the next 10 on my list ^_^ ![]() |
Loved how Alexander comforted Waver. Rider is such a bro! Even if the whole show was dedicated for Waver and Alexander, I would love it none the less. My fav. duo. ;D Berserker is awesome in so many ways! Totally love him. ^^ ![]() Modified by PerlaNemesis, Nov 5, 2011 11:57 AM |
Berserker rising out of the ground is my new wallpaper. ;D I've never seen anything as gorgeous as this show's animation. *sob* ![]() |
guyklc said: Truly, Studio DEEN disgraced FSN. We need a remake of FSN!! I really loved this episode; seriously, Fate Zero never stops to amaze me. Artwork was beautiful, and I was hooked throughout the entire episode. For a moment there, I really thought Lancer's master was about to be killed. Only thing I have to say is that Saber is surprisingly weak this time around, whereas in FSN, she was supposed to be the strongest servant. Considering that Saber had a unhealed arm and no functionality in her thumb, I am very amased that she managed to block of that black shadow beast! Also Saber still have shown her special ability. She was going too but her master ordered her to stop and trust in her. But yeah I think this is pretty amazingly animated, and beats Fate s/n by lots. ![]() |

Yet another impressive episode! The fight between Archer and Berserker was spectacular. The slick action was just pure eye candy. Animation done to perfection by ufotable. Now if only they would also remake F/SN... I never expected the Servants to have a grand meeting this way, only Caster was missing, while Assassin was secretly observing from the shadows. For a moment there, I thought Lancer's master would have been the first to die in the 4th Holy Grail War. Now I wonder who will be the first Master and the first Servant to fall. We know at the very least from watching F/SN that Kiritsugu and Kirei will survive this. ![]() |
Berserker. 'Nuff said. ![]() |
I'm seriously loving Rider here. He's such a wonderful balance to the rest of the cast: a great, bumbling king with a huge heart compared to the rather angsty remainder of the characters. Also loving everyone's big, fat egos. ![]() Modified by veetasoy, Dec 12, 2011 2:32 PM |
That was intense! 6 servants in the same place at once, though only 5 showed face. Rider doesn't seem that strong for some reason, tbh. ![]() |

This is sooo much better than Fate Stay Night. Better animation, better music, dialogue and no annoying teenagers like Shiro running around. ![]() "Perhaps there is a universal, absolute truth. Iskandar, you are so lovably audacious (that's an adverb I never thought I'd fix to that adjective). He and Waver are perfect comic relief (and the F/sn anime's attempts at comic relief, like Taiga, were just ill-fitting). I'm on the fence about Berserker's CGI. ![]() |
Wow...this series is just marvelous, from the crisp animation to the portrayal of the characters, all of which are unique and intriguing. Contender for top 5 in the making. ![]() |
Gamaliel said: insan3soldiern said: Yeah, without the Fate/Stay anime I'd never have read the VN either. So, yeah, I'll give Deen credit for that, I suppose. Leaving the action scenes aside, they could have adapted the story a hell of a lot better. I'd never consider Shirou a "likable" character (though I DO consider him in the VN one of the best characterized protagonists and just overall one of the most interesting characters I've seen) but I can't help but think that Deen could have handled him a hell of a lot better. For lack of a better word, he came off as a prick in the anime. I don't know how you could feel the same way reading the VN. Anyway, about this episode. Berserker getting run over and leaving the fight....doesn't it seem kind of obvious if you put 2 and 2 together that he *probably* left the fight because he couldn't continue on? Also, anyone thinking they were going to have the real battles now are being pretty foolish. It was obvious this was just a tease, to get us fans even more interested than we already were and to introduce most of the servants' abilities....I'd say it worked. agreed. After reading the Light novel, Shirou become a lot more likable, My only problem with him, is the fact that he fought against servants, and won. really , servants are overpowers....how can a human, more, a kid , fight against heroes that pass their entire life in the battlefield, and can win a battle. ? Assassin from fate zero, ok, i can see him winning a battle against some of the shadows, but gilgamesh? just by looking the battle of saber vs hercules, they have supernatural strength and power. If he can win a battle against these monsters, there is no need for a servant in the first place. Shirou says it himself that Gilgamesh is probably the only servant who he would be able to beat in UBW because of the way they match up. He learned UBW by copying EMIYA so he learned his projection technique through the same means, he only accelerated his growth by studying EMIYA. In HF he has supernatural help by having Archer's arm attached to his body. He doesn't project Berserker's weapon by himself he uses EMIYA's technique. In Fate he is able to project Saber's NP by having avalon inserted into his body and having saber as his servant (also seeing her NP). Also,it's not " a kid fighting against a hero from the past" it's a kid who later becomes a heroic spirit fighting other heroic spirits (with the development of his powers accelerated through different means each route). Man so many of these F/SN comments. Can't tell if you guys are even trolling or not that's how bad they are. But I'll refrain from ranting. Anyway this is the Fate/zero thread right? Yeah Awesome episode yet again. Only 5 episodes in, but lif it keeps up this pace this series will easily get a 10/10.Would do anything to see a Ufotable HF adaption. Also isn't it kind of a spoiler that Gil is alive and exists in F/SN ![]() Modified by EOTW, May 21, 2012 9:36 AM |
Wow. This episode was awesome. Didn't expect almost all the Servants to show up at that one place. ![]() |
"How dare you, gazing upon me" "How dare you, touching my weapon blah blah" "How dare you, same ground blah blah" "How dare you, withdraw blah blah" Seriously enough with the repetitive royal-fag trash talk, it's embarassing Fight with berserker was godly, he has the best design out of the 7 as well. Rider is my favorite character of the show so far. 4/5 PS: Kirei's sniper is more useless than tenten xD ![]() |

But the next Lancer is even more similar, blue hairs. ![]() |
Gilgamesh would have totally owned him if he wasn't called back, but a shame. ![]() ![]() "I like to expose what people hide. I'm an intellectual rapist." - Furudo Erika |
Showcasing all seven Servants was cool! And I got to see what Berserker looks like. He was badass! But Gilgamesh was just as awesome. XD ![]() |
Beserker is sick! Glad that dude's servant isn't a joke ... although I feel bad knowing he won't win the holy grail (not a spoiler just something you can tell) ... Anyways good series so far and thank the fucking lord it isn't as bad as Fate/Stay Night. ![]() |
The first attack scene of Gilgamesh to Berserker was epic. 5th Holy Grail War is child's play compared to this! ![]() |
Berserker was really badass, but Gilgamesh was pretty cool too. Fights in this show are damn incredible. ![]() |
