Hi ya guys!
I would be glad if someone can recommend a good funny romance anime where there is actually something that happens and the main character ends up with someone, i for example enjoyed school days! And i want the characters to be around 17-18 years old. thanks in advance

Am I blind or what? Good funny romance anime... School Days. Do you want to say that you like stories in the school setting or do you like the anime titled ' school days'. I thought it was School Rumble, i was going to recommend it first and foremost. Anyways here are my recommendations, some had romance as a sub-plot:

Toradora, Tatami Galaxy, Bakemonogatari, Kimi ni Todoke, Maison Ikkoku(haven't seen it myself but been planning watch this, they say it's really good and works if you're not bothered by old animation)

I related the Anime School Days to an annime where stuff happens ^^ and the part of School Days that i liked was that he had parts where he was dedicated to one girl. And i liked the ending, i will learn from his misstakes so that shit doesn't happen to me :P thanks for the tips though ^^

I am constantly surprised that people recommend School Days in the romance category. It belongs more in the Psychological , drama categories IMO.

You can also Try True Tears, Bokura Ga Ita, and Kimikiss Pure Rouge. Lots of drama and stuff happening in those.

Hey guys, I'm here asking for some angsty romance anime! NANA's angst, especially towards the end, was great. I also liked the parts of Itazura na Kiss when Irie was being an asshole to Kotoko and she just took it. I know, I'm a sadist. Anyways, please recommend me some angst!

Yes I know what you mean, I watched some clips of Schools Days and I don't really think it falls under the category of romance. I watched Spice and Wolf, Skip Beat, and Maid- Sama, these also have drama in them.

Looking for anime like fruits basket or maid-sama. I also liked Kimi ni Todoke but I didn't like how drawn out it was. I don;t mind a story line that's a bit stretched out but I thought that one was too much. I liked Usuis personality in maid sama a lot if anyone knows of anything with characters like that.
I'm sorry if this is confusingly written, but thank you in advance!

Okay so i had created a thread here- http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=486787 , in hopes of getting good recommendations but to no use, so i will post it here, maybe i will get good recommendations from here.

I m looking for animes that are similar to -

1] have the romantic setting/feeling similar to spice and wolf, nodame cantbille , bakemonogatari

2] or animes that are similar to Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari [the rom + com +harem + adventure part ] , bakemonogatari [ rom + badass action ]

3] or little bit of romance [including the comedy that comes with romance genre ] [HAREM , ECCHI accepatable] with interesting story or adventure/action genre like Darker than Black [ i dont rember other ones at this moment]

4] or where there is little romance [including the comedy that comes with romance genre ] but the main character is Badass or very powerful from start like DTB, Chrome shelled regios

To say it in BROADER TERMS what i m looking for is adventure /action genre with some [or more ] romance with comedy [harem , ECCHI acceptable ]

To say SPECIFICALLY i have mentioned those 4 POINTS ABOVE , u can recommend me any animes similar to ones that satisfy any of the 4 points above . What i want the most are the ones similar to Spice n wolf, nodame , bakemonogatari, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari

CHECK MY ANIME LIST - http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Persius
before recommending me anything , Also take a note of the ones of ON-HOLD animes in my list bcoz due to some reason i was not able to watch them n a lot of time passed afetr wathcing their 1 or 2 episodes , so had not touched them so if u know of any good ones that fall in my ON-HOLD list BE SURE TO TELL THOSE TOO.

I HAVE HIGH HOPES FROM ALL OF YOU . I HAVE GOT TOO TIRED SEARCHING FOR THE BEST ONES [what i all find are the average orjust feel good ones and so i have come here once again for your recommendations]

Note : Dont say Toradora , Lovely complex , etc... i m not looking for these kinda ones. I wont be watching Shakugan no shana so dont recommend it.

No ONE PIECE [too many episodes , i know its awesome in terms of actn, adventure genre but cant keep up with so many episodes , i m looking for something thsat has less than 50 episodes or so...]

No heavily drama genre based ones , please ,i dont want something like clannad,etc... similar

Also dont suggest very old animes like from year 1996 or earlier , it pains my eyes to see the animation art of that time

And Most importantly I want Happy Ending in the anime.

So thats it friends ,i am waiting for your expert RECOMMENDATIONS !!!

For [the rom + com +harem + adventure part ]-try Love Hina and the Tenchi Muyo Franchise since it is the forerunner to Isekai. The Ova did indeed start before 1996, but I think the art is fine.

You have many things on your list that fit the bill- some in your PTW list. One I don't see that is Adventure, comedy, romance is Earl & Fairy

Code geass r2 (since u only watched season 1)? Has a little bit of romance, the main character is pretty badass, and is shounen/action genre.

Princess mononoke (aired in 1997 so its fairly old but its a movie by studio ghibli so its far from ugly) action/fantasy genre with some romance in it.

Macross frontier romance (with music) Action Scifi genre

Rurouni kenshin (the anime and the OVA samurai X:trust and betrayal [the ova has alot of drama and romance but the character is badass]),anime has some romance elements as well as comedy

Im not sure if this fits into ur criteria but Genshiken [its about college students in a club called (Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture) they are pretty much otakus and gamers and they are trying to make doujin etc.]It wasnt too bad slice of life comedy with a little bit of romance.

Blood + (vampires action)

Shigurui (action) Old japan samurai sword fighting (pretty graphic)

Last Exile (not the new one) vanship action/adventure?

Kyou no go no ni (romance comedy) pretty interesting, its elementary school kids' take on romance, pretty funny imo

Basilisk: Kouga Ninpou Chou (action/romance) Badass ninjas (not naruto ninjas)

Berserk (1997 as well but i think the animation and art is alright) Guts is just too badass (action genre)

Yes, I am looking for a romance anime, since I have over 500ish anime on my plan to watch list I just can't sort out which to watch next!

I would like the anime to have some romance but not too much to overpower the anime with lovey lovey. Like the romance would grow like they hate each other in the beginning then they grow to like each other in the end type. Some supernatural powers in it would be nice, doesn't really matter what or how the specific powers come into play. Usually I go back and forth be comedy and tragic anime and I am finishing up a comedy anime so if it can include something that could make me tear up or a death even that would be nice as well. I don't mind the fighting if you happen to find a fighting genre along those lines. If this is too specific to choose from then just go with the romance has to grow part then. It can also include mature stuff, and if it can be a series not a ova or movie that would be nice too. Thanks for the help!

Woah thanks for letting me know Sousei no Aquarion (huge fan btw especiallay Evol) was on my plan to watch list. Yea I've seen parts of Toradora, Angel Beats, Balsik, Darker then Black, and Eureka Seven yet I just haven't seen all of it. Wish there was a sperate list that is like Seen some but too lazy to finish no... I usually tend to stay away from popular animes for some reason. I mean I will watch em eventually but I like the ones that no one has ever heard of.
Thanks for the list!

I'm not really sure how much is too much when it comes to cheesiness...well, try Kamisama Kazoku, it has a cliche romance, but goes way beyond what you'd expect.

Kaze no Stigma is kind of a romance/action anime with magic! Definitely not cheesy, but a good romance all the same.

Thanks. Well, I'll try to watch Kamasama Kazoku. As for Kaze no Stigma... I've been putting that off for a long time. I had a (somewhat) friend who goes kinda crazy over this along with Special, Ouran Highschool, Kaichou wa Maid Sama, etc. She kinda made me not to want to watch those anime

Hey azixe, have you seen spice and wolf? It fits your requirements pretty well...
you've got the hate turning into love
sort of powers (if being a wolf-goddess can be classified as a "power" [which it absolutely is])
Sort of mature-ish, in that the main characters aren't high school kids.
The only caveat is that it is quite slow-paced (i like it for that, but some people don't) But the upside of the slow-pacedness is you get very good character development, which i think is really necessary for a good romance series.

Hi, I'm looking for a romance anime(s) that has a nice and steady progress (Let me explain).

First of all I want the romance itself to start on early in the series. Not like Hoshizora e kakaru hashi or mashiro-iro where they use up the whole anime just to choose a girl. I want the romance to start immedietaly and then progress through the story. Also i don't care if it's in high school or not, but it has to be mature relationship. I like it when the main character can get intimate with eachother (Does'nt need to involve sex). I want it to be just 1 main girl and 1 main guy, that means NO harem, NO gender bender and NO love-triangles. I really liked Clannad, Kimi ni Todoke and Rec (want more like these).

Thanks in Advance!

How about InuYasha? The romance starts early on and lasts through the series...1 warning though...there is a whole lot of jealousy involved here...and in the middle the romance is kind of at a standstill...haha, maybe not the best recommendation!

Another one might me Kamisama Kazoku. It starts off like a normal romance but it goes way farther than you'd expect.

Last would be Kanon (2006) which is just like Clannad

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, highly recc. it's still airing tho so you can't watch it all but it's not really a harem. although it seems like it at times.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, i reccomend also. It's pretty slow sort of like lovely complex and the characters are back and forth but i like the overall direction the shows been moving in. also still airing

I'm looking for a romance manga, preferably Shonen or Seinen, although I can read Josei and Shoujo if they are really good, and completed.
What I want is something that can be serious at time with the romance and all, but still has a bit of comedy in them.
My favorite romance mangas are:
Love Hina (this one is very dear to me), Ichigo 100%, Chobits, Onani Master Kurosawa, Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan, Change 123, 5cm per second, Strobe Edge, Ai Kora, Ai Ga Tomaranai and I''s.
I know some of them don't fit on what I asked, but it's just for you to have an idea.
Thanks in advance.

Hello there guys, well I am pretty new to all this anim, but I think I am in love with romance anime, and I am willing to see more of them untill I get full.

Anyways I would like you guys to recommend me some romance anim.
I got a few examples:

The first one is" boku wa tomodachi ga sukunai", I just loved this anim, I would like this one, I just love things like thoses, activites no magic or un-realistic stuff.

The second one is "Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru" I love anim that girls fight on the guy, and attempt to have him to their-self, I would like an anim like this one.

And the third one is "Maid Sama!" I also love when the man doesn't give up on his women, and keeps tracking her.

Well ye, I love alot fo things, but if you could help me out I would appreciate it.

P.S - I love school romance and the activites like in each anim I gave example of, please to give me any un-realistic things or magic. Thank you :>

Rexen,

Judging by your criteria, my top recommendation would be Byousoku 5 Centimeter. It's a movie that I didn't enjoy all that much, but it sounds right up your alley. Also, give "Ef-A Tale of Memories" and "Sukkitte Ii na yo" a shot since they stay within realistic bounds and do so pretty well.

Playing off your general liking of a harem anime like OreShura, I can give you a few recommendations, but they kinda lose their realistic qualities. If you still want to give it a shot, Hidan no Aria and IS: Infinite Stratos are both pretty good harems.

As for school romance in general, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and Toradora! would both be excellent choices. Another that's still pretty well done is Lovely Complex. They're all pretty light-hearted romances as well.

There are quite a few anime that may be unrealistic at times, but are still excellent shows, so I'd be remiss not to mention them: Clannad (especially the second season), Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (abrv. AnoHana), Kanon, and Kokoro Connect.
