THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Ok, so Rie finally gets an actual logical motive for going along with the stupid experiment, but only after Toshihiko phones her.

The main bad guy of this show is so shit, its depressing.

What the hell happened to the writing!? In the beginning I thought I was watching something fresh and mature, but now its descended into shonen-level hijinks.

Once again, I agree completely. Tbqh, the writing as always been rather poor and cliche... but this is just beyond bad writing.

Even the artwork in this episode started to irritate me... at times it became way too cartoonish.

I agree it really is kind of a letdown in the last few episodes. But Ooba is one sick bastard. How he carried around Ries arms in his pants was somewhere between hilarious, frightening and plain stupid ^^
I probably regret this post by now.

Honestly. The dialogue...wtf.

Tbh, it doesn't even feel like the same show it started as.

...2 episodes left. Will there be redemption?

Damn . . . It really seems like everyone is going to die by the end of this series . . . I'm going to bet that Toshihiko and Yuka will be the only two left alive at the end of this . . . Also why is Yuka the only Flesh Eater left? I figured there would still be quite a few . . .

I think its a great take on a classical genre of story to be honest.

Love the energy, humor and overall presentation.

What the fuck is wrong with this Ooba guy? he put Rie's severed arms inside his pants!

This is getting a little bit hard to watch.

Oh man, this episode got intense!
Also, seeing more of the fucked-up/comedic side of Ooba was great. He's a pretty fantastic villain.

I loved how dynamic the animation was at some parts, too. I don't understand how you all think this episode is shit. This might actually be my favorite episode yet.

I agree, this is a pretty crazy way of presenting your stereotypical samurai vs demon type of story. Really empathetic and creative with a strong emotional appeal. Don't know why some people are beating on this episode, honestly it's probably because this whole series has become very gruesome and adult in comparison with the cliche beginning.

I wonder how far back we can trace Ooba's descent into madness. I think it all seeds from jealousy and a need to overcompensate - he was always overshadowed by the other two in the Kifuuken Triumverate. In fact, it may have started the day their master told those three about Kemonozume - there, he finally saw a way he could become more powerful than the other two.

Anyway, he is totally bonkers now (those little Oobas jumping on his head, what a scene XD) - going through all this craziness (which is SURE AS HELL going to backfire on him) just to get his kid the 'best claw', as if that matters.

The cement trap is a cool device to get rid of uninvited guests.

I liked this episode and it's craziness and the characters are still interesting, can't really say the same about the plot, tho.

This episode was brilliant. Glad the series is getting great. Well, the story is still full of cliched characters and scenarios, but it's executed so well. Amazing episode. Loved the trippiness.

Eh Ooba finally cut Rie arms and replaced them so she's in full beast mode now, same for Yuka and Kazuma, the situation is sure horrible :S
