According to Comic Natalie, a movie of "Fairy Tail" was announced to be premiered on August 18th 2012. Manga "Shingeki no Kyojin" was also announced to get a film adaptation. It will be premiered in autumn of 2013.
R25 News reported a widespread rumor that director Nakashima Tetsuya has already been shooting a live action movie of Shingeki no Kyojin.
Great news since its releasing in August 2012... that is the same month we should hear about a possible renewal of the anime series. No way would they cancel the series same time the movie is coming out, so this basically guarantees at least 200 episodes.
And regarding live action or not... Fairy Tail is guaranteed to be anime. The budget to do a big live action special effects movie about wizards just wouldn't be justifiable.
It seems to me that Fairy Tail is on a good way to become franchise on Big 3 (Bleach, Naruto, One Piece) level.
Well, there's also Detective Conan which is on-going since 1996 + with many movies, OVAs, and few specials.
Weird things is, for some reason it never seemed to me that Detective Conan is popular on this site.
Hm. I might give the Fairy Tail movie a shot. I hope it's not live action; that'll be a sure failure. But I hope it doesn't fail even if it's anime. Personally, I read the manga, so I don't like the anime, but movies are easier to endure and keep up with.
